Face Wash : Razorock Menthol Lime Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Thater 2-Band
Soap : Le Pere Lucien (Cedar & Patchouli)
Razor : Sandor Jenes Western Kamisori
After Shave : Argan Oil
After Shave Splash : Speick

A good but uninspiring shave today. I'm certainly not as impressed with Le Pere Lucien as many others seem to be. The fragrancing of this soap is very heavy handed : both cedar and patchouli are strong scents, and I think work best when blended and used with a lighter touch. The Thater did produce a good lather from it at least. In retrospect, the Jenes Kamisori started from behind the 8-ball. After shaving with the Mastro Livi Kamisori, any of my other razors have a hard act to follow. The Jenes shaved comfortably enough and smoothly enough, but it was noticeably less ergonomic and agile to handle, and took a little more work to achieve a BBS result. A good splash of Speick to finish lifted the overall experience a little.

Yes, a good but forgettable shave....

Brush: Ploccitane
Soap: B&M Rhapsody
Razor: Kirby Beard
Blade: Vintage Wilkinson [8]
After-shave: Myrsol Formula C

@filobiblic, that Kirby Beard is an interesting looking razor. I don't know anything about them, and I bet lots of others are similarly ignorant. Will you tell us a bit about it please?

Thanks mate (y)

Cold water shave
Preshave: bloom water
Soap: Johnny Good Sir TMBR
Brush: Edwin Jagger Badger
Face lather
Razor: Gold Dollar 6/8
A/S: home made bay rum

Johnny Good Sir TMBR - have I mentioned I like the scent? It is that good IMO that maker should be knighted, now to be known as Sir Johnny Good, maker of Johnny Good Sir. If @Anthony can please, please, PLEASE get this scent paired with his new base, he has a winner.

Thanks @Mark for the new GD straight. These straights shave very well. Top shave and, as always when using straights, thoroughly enjoyable.

Oh Draco...mate... I don't know if I'd be shooting myself in the foot if I started telling you about the Kirby Beard razors. *sigh*
But since we're all mates here...

They are a French razor made by the same company behind the better known Leresche razors. They have their distinctive wavy/scalloped caps which makes them attractive. But they are beautifully made and designed. For me, they shave as smooth and comfortably as the Eclipse Red Ring.

Since most aren't on other forums, here's a PDF of the razor's history (with photos) from another forum.

Preshave: Proraso Green preshave under a hot towel
Razor: Murker 39C
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: Semogue 610
Soap: Shaver Heaven Summer breeze
Splash: Proraso green

Cold, wet and misty morning today.
A few extra minutes can really enhance a shave. Applying Proraso preshave before a hot towel is fantastic. Extremely refreshing start to the day.
Wonderful shave finished off with a cup of Camomile and spiced Apple tea.

Thanks @filobiblic - what a fascinating story! Almost like a detective tale. You have to be impressed with the diligence and determination of the writer in trying to unravel the truth after the passage of so many years. I hope others enjoyed reading it as much as I did :)

After shaving with the Mastro Livi Kamisori, any of my other razors have a hard act to follow.

That reminds me about the day I shaved for the first time with a Mastro Livi razor. The sensation and feeling were unique and all the other razors I had in my collection seemed to be light years behind. That's why I now use Mastro Livi razors for most of my shaves although I like to keep all the other razors in my rotation as well, but when I shave with a Mastro Livi, well, I absolutely feel and experience the difference!

Was an interesting read a week or two ago when @filobiblic first introduced it here.
Glad others found it entertaining too.

Mastro Livi "Rasoio Italiano" Stainless Damascus, 8/8 Full Hollow, Spanish Point

I can't stop thinking how fabulous and stunning is this Mastro Livi stainless damascus razor. The blade, first of all. It is made of artisanal martensitic stainless damascus personally made by Mastro Livi in his laboratory, that is made of stainless steels suitable for hardening and tempering. You can in fact see both stainless steels are making the very sharp and super cutting edge, this is possible only in case the steel is totally hardenable. Secondly, the scales. They are a masterpiece celebrating Italy and Italian craftsmanship, of course made by Mastro Livi. Scales are made of black African ebony with a fossil mammoth ivory plate in the middle and two Italian flags at the sides. The flags are made of jade, white turquoise and coral. A flag made of three dots is also inlaid in the fossil mammoth ivory. Simply beautiful! As for shaving performance, the feeling of this Mastro Livi stainless damascus is pretty aggressive and deep, almost as aggressive as Damasteel, however giving a pleasing shave and, you know it, with an impeccable super smooth and velvety result. I am very proud of this razor, not just because it is "Italian artisan made", but also because I personally watched its making.

Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Soap: Truefitt & Hill Authentic No10

Face Wash : PAA Menthol Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Proraso White
Brush : Romera 2-Band
Soap : Tim's Soap - Signature
Razor : Hoshi Tombo 6000 Kamisori Style
After Shave : Irisch Moos AS Balsam

A pleasant shave with everything working well together. The Irisch Moos Balsam is interesting - the scent reminds me of Virginia tobacco, masculine and pleasant. Although it isn't greasy, I'm not sure I like the face feel of it too much, like most balms etc. Using the Hoshi Tombo 6000 made me wonder how @StueyB is going with the 6000 that he restored so well :)
