Synth Sunday
Been unable to shave since last Sunday due to having had a BCC removed from my nose (I now have a third nostril) and being unable to get the dressing wet. Gives Wet Shaving a new twist when you have to be careful on how wet your face can get.
I hope you have a quick recovery mate. I've had several removed myself and it ain't much fun...

Mastro Livi Inox "Grifone", 9/8 Full Hollow, Livi Snake Point

Sunday shave, Mastro Livi shave. This is what I usually do on Sundays when I generally have more time to dedicate to my shave. And on Sundays I always use the very best razors I have in my collection and they of course are Mastro Livi razors. Today I shaved with this superb "Grifone" (i.e. the "big gryphon") and it is named like that because it has been made with the very same stainless steel Mastro Livi uses for his Grifetto and, because of the size, he wanted to call it "Grifone". It is a gorgeous straight razor and the stainless steel Mastro Livi uses for Grifetto proves, once again, to make incredible straight razors. Smooth, velvety and keen, giving a close and impeccable BBS shave.
  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil

  • Razor: Mastro Livi Inox "Grifone", 9/8 Full Hollow, Livi Snake Point
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block

Soap: B&M Cheshire
Brush: Shavemac 22mm silvertip
Razor: Gillette #58
Blade: Feather
Post-shave: Havana balm

A feather in a mild razor is a magic combo. I couldn't even feel the whiskers being cut. Thought I didn't have the edge, but there were no whiskers left. Just wiped them away.

Preshave: PAA Ice soap and Proraso Red
Razor: Standard
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Simpson Commodore X2
Soap: Mystic Water Teakwood and Cardamom(May Madness)
Post Shave: Loccitane Bavx balm
Two pass shave with a clean up under the chin. The PAA soap is a glycerin soap that cleans and moistens the whiskers and leaves the face feeling slick so may aid with the glide of the razor. The end result is a smooth, clean face.

Clean & Simple...

Pre: St James 'Mandarin & Patchouli' pre shave oil (sample)
Soap: Sudsy Soapery 'Lavender & Peppermint'
Brush: Chubby 2 'Pure'
Razor: Friodur Inox 6/8 (No.2)
Post: Alum, Thayers Cucumber and SV Tundra Artica AB

A clean and simple shave this morning. The St James pre shave oil was a nice touch today, the scent is intoxicating and the performance was ok (I couldn't tell if it helped though).
The soap is a new scent as well, clean and subtle with a nice bit of menthol from the peppermint, stellar performance as usual. The razor had no problem mowing through a bit of growth. Then to finish up the usual alum, thayers and today for scent the Tundra Artica, nice scent but not enough staying power.
Have a good day gents.

Been unable to shave since last Sunday due to having had a BCC removed from my nose (I now have a third nostril) and being unable to get the dressing wet.

Not good @StueyB - have a speedy and complete recovery mate. At least the BCC wasn't in your shave zone - I had one removed just under the jawline and the scar has been a shaving hazard ever since :(

Mondays - what a way to spend 1/7 of your life...

Face Wash : Shower
Pre-Shave : Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Brush : Simpson Wee Scot
Soap : Mystic Water - Brown Windsor
Razor : Fine Superlite Slant
Blade : Polsilver SS [0]
After Shave : Alum, Witch Hazel, Top Seven emulsion, Tom Ford Grey Vetiver

About time for a DE shave in my routine, so I thought I'd continue my exploration of the Fine Slant. I decided to pair it with the Wee Scot - between them they make just about the lightest travel kit possible, while still packing all the performance of the "big guns" . The lather was excellent as expected - the Wee Scot really is a 1st order brush, and Mystic Water Brown Windsor is always a treat.

In the hardware department, I took some inspiration from @Lifes a Peach's epic 16 shave run with the Timor blade. There seemed little point in duplicating what he did exactly, so after consulting with him we agreed that it would be worthwhile testing one of the Polsilver Stainless Steel blades which are reputed to give about 10 shaves per blade. The blade felt excellent from the first stroke - sharpness and smoothness were both on a par with the Super Iridium blades.

A 2 pass shave left me very clean and smooth indeed. A pretty full on post shave really put the icing on the cake, particularly the Tom Ford Grey Vetiver :)

Good advice regarding sunscreen and hope your recovering well.

I hope you have a quick recovery mate. I've had several removed myself and it ain't much fun...

Many thanks for the well wishes. Appears to be healing well so far. Hopefully will be able to shave normally again soon
