Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: sample of Tabula Rasa Cardamom (cheers @Psmith)
Razor: iKon B1 OSS
Blade: PSI
Post: alum, witch hazel, and Myrsol plastic shave

The tabula rasa demanded a bit more time to get to where I'd like it to be. Also partially because I loaded a lot of the shave cream on my brush. That is alright, as the longer I work on it, the longer I get to indulge and get intoxicated with its wonderful scent. Cardamom and citrus.

PSI was very sharp and somewhat smoother than the feather blades in my experience. I will stock up some of them or the Voskhods, still in the experimenting phase.

Finishing off with the myrsol plastic shave. I really like how good it feels on your skin. Compared to the balsamic water which I absolutely adore it's scent, the plastic shave feels very cooling and soothing when applied on skin. Good stuff. Another fine fine shave.

Friodur 5/8
Semogue 1305
LEA Classic soap
Myrsol Antisol

The 1305 has a higher loft than the 620 so feels larger and softer. Worked up the best lather I've got out of Proraso green the other day.
The LEA is rich smelling dry spiced sandalwood. Look forward to using it more. Menthol is light on though. Good stuff at any price!

Brush: Thater 4125/2 two band
Razor: Gillette knack
Blade: Gillette Rubie
Soap: SH summer breeze
A/S: Floid original

Well it's official Thater kick shaving bum. Second use and this thing is very balanced in terms of performance. Considering I only used it yesterday it drys very fast. The tips are some of the softest I've experienced [emoji56]

Would love some post bloom pics. Am thinking about that exact brush.

What's the backbone like? 26mm sounds big. I didn't like my chubby 2 all that much because it was so big and dense.

Very different to a chubby. No where near as dense. The bulb shape however gives support to the loft making it hold its shape very well while lathering. Flow through is some of the best I've tried and as for size it's spot on for me as being a bulb it's not as big as its fan equivalent. Really nothing bad to say about this brush other than its price and availability to us in oz.

Pre: Blind Barber Facial Cleanser
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Best
Soap: Le Pere Lucien
Razor: Muhle R41 (2013) on iKon OSS handle (See pic here)
Blade: PSI (2)
Post: alum, witch hazel, and Myrsol Emulsion

First time out with the R41 and all I can say is wow, where have you been all my life? Possibly the most comfortable shave I've ever had. No nicks, no weepers, just BBS goodness. Whether that's to do with the laser like focus I gave today's shave (and the great prep and lather from LPL) will be seen, but I clearly like to feel the blade. The R41 works really well on the OSS handle. The weight reminds me to go slow.

Merkur 34C
Vokshod
Simpson Polo 8 Best
Saponificio Varesino Cosmo

Wow. This soap. Wow.

The scent is hard to pin point my best description is that it's kind of astringent like Citrus/coffee. It's something you could go to every day though as it isn't too strong but pleasant.

However what's impressed me is the slickness of this soap. This is by far the slickest soap I've ever used. I don't think it's possible to cut yourself when shaving with this soap. The post shave is everything everyone always says about Saponificio Varesino, just impeccable.

This is the new gold standard for performance when it comes to soaps.

Razor: Gillette 'Sensor Excel
Blade: Gillette Sensor Excel Cartridge (?)
Brush: Muhle Synthetic Travel Brush
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

Yes, I brought my big tin of Mike's with me to Kadina to keep myself on the May Madness bandwagon!

You may recall my surprise on Synth Sunday about the lack of performance of this brush - well did I get a surprise today! Not sure what I did differently but it just burst into lather as soon as I loaded it - chalk and cheese with my experience on Sunday. This definitely needs some controlled experimentation to investigate. Result today was a great, thick, rich lather. The Sensor performed as they do.

The remains of my Floid are still in my travel kit. Nice enough but will not be persisting with this once finished.

Razor: Rockwell 6S (5)
Blade: GSB (4)
Brush: Simpson Duke 2 "Pure"
Soap: Shaver Heaven Peppermint Plus
After: Alum, Myrsol formula "C", Nivea calming balm

Nice 3 pass shave this morning. The Rockwell on the #5 plate was still quite comfortable, although I can notice that it has more blade feel post shave.
The GSB seems to be going ok still, the razor and blade make for a good combination so far.
Happy shaving!

Preshave: PAA Ice soap and Proraso Red
Razor: Standard
Blade: Permasharp Super
Brush: Semogue 1305
Soap: Mystic Water Teakwood and Cardamom
Postshave: Trumpers Limes Skinfood and Pino EDT
Two pass shave with a clean up under the chin. Well the Permasharp works brilliantly in this razor as well. Great shave without any irritation to be seen or felt, just enjoyment.

Face Wash : Lime Menthol Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Thater 4292/3 2-Band Silvertip
Soap : Valobra Patchouli
Razor : Fine Superlite Slant
Blade : Polsilver SS [1]
After Shave : Top Seven Emulsion, Calvin Klein Euphoria

Thought I'd better rack up a few shaves quickly using the Polsilver SS, while I'm still motivated to find out how long they last...

I see somebody else has just got a Thater brush (congrats @Young Buck). Mine hasn't seen action for a while, so it was an easy pick. I chose the Valobra Patchouli soap for today, and was rewarded with an amazingly good lather. It wouldn't have been disgraced in the lather shots thread at all.

The shave was, predictably, just the same as yesterday - smooth and easy and it left me with a 2-pass BBS. I finished off with Top Seven emulsion and Calvin Klein Euphoria. The Euphoria is a restrained modern fragrance with plenty of complexity but is a little light on in the staying power department. I find it rather similar to Bvlgari Man, but I'd choose the Bvlgari fragrance over the Calvin Klein any day.

All in all a good but unexciting shave today :(

Pre-Shave: Occams pre-shave soap, cold water
Razor: RazoRock Stealth Slant V1
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Nathan Clark Envy White
Lather: Mystic Water
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

My skin started to calm down and so today I had an almost perfect shave. Very smooth and relaxed - lather shot in the lather section.

Pre-Shave: Musgo real pre-shave oil
Razor: Gillette knack
Blade: Rubie platinum
Brush: Simpson Emperor Manchurian
Lather: SH Summer Breeze
Post-shave: Floid Original

Today was the emperor's turn. The boar like badger of my den. Loads soaps like no ones business. Down to the last few shaves for SH. Tried a new technique I read about on one of forums and I think I'll continue to use it. Basically as you load you occasionally squeeze the excess water out by running your brush against the side of your soap dish like you would a paint brush on the edge of a paint can. You do this until only soap comes out. Ensures you don't have excess water in your brush, just creamy lather.
