Shavemac Barber 26mm 2 band

Razorock Black Mamba

A much closer shave today with the feather. The mamba tames a feather well. Nice little stick of Unobtainium too.

Today for synth Sunday - Muhle STF 25mm brush!

I had one of the most amazing shaves ever, with a Feather blade. Feather blades have never really worked for me before, that is until today. I applied virtually no pressure on the Gillette Slim Adjustable, set to 6, and had an incredibly smooth shave with zero irritation.
Paired perfectly with Martin de Candre Fougère shaving soap, and Speick Aftershave.

Preshave: Proraso Red
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: Mystic Water Teakwood and Cardamom(May Madness)
Post Shave: Top Seven Emulsion and Fine Platinum
Three pass shave. Using the same soap for two weeks has allowed me to pretty much dial it in every time now. How much to load and how much water it needs are a given. Sunday morning shaves are a joy. Two day growth taken down and just smoothness and softness left behind. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

SYNTH SUNDAY!

Razor: Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Vintage Schick Superior Platinum (1)
Brush: Muhle 31 M 536 Silvertip Travel Brush
Soap/Cream: Mike's Natural Shaving Soaps - Barbershop
Aftershave: Myrsol Agua Balsalmica

This is my only synthetic brush, you can see specs here, and I usually use it while travelling with a shave stick - so very different experience lathering with a puck of soap today. Lather shots here to see what I'm talking about - Lather Shots

Back onto the Myrsol rotation now that they are in alphabetical order ... ;)

Pre-Shave: Occams pre-shave soap, cold water
Razor: RazoRock Stealth Slant V1
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Stirling Kong
Lather: Mystic Water
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Synth Sunday today with my Stirling Kong. Unfortunately my skin is in a very unhappy place at the moment (not only on my face) - I tried to got the RRSS way, as this is for me usually my mildest razor. But even that did not help and I fear I have to give it a break for a couple of days :(

Nice lather with the Synth - picture in the lather section - enjoy your Sunday every body!

SYNTH SUNDAY WITH SHAVER HEAVEN!

Razor: Gillette 'Fatboy' E1 Adjustable (3)
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: Sterling 22mm synthetic
Soap/Cream: Shaver Heaven - Diamonds & Pearls
Aftershave: Alum, Shaver Heaven - Diamonds & Pearls Balm

Using the Fatboy for the first time I couldn't think of anything better than Diamonds & Pearls soap to pair it up with. I had the best shave yet, the Fatboy felt great in the hand, it's not so much the weight (which felt right in any event) but the balance was spot on. This made for a really enjoyable shave as finding the right angle and keeping it there was a breeze. I had it set on 3 but I think ultimately 4 or 5 might be the sweet spot for me. It wasn't quite a BBS but it was a DFS.

There is a synth brush under there somewhere as always the Diamonds & Peals lathered up a treat. (lather pic)

I'm planning on sending it to @FatBoy58 for a check over but had to give it a test run first, now I'm not sure if I can give it up for that to happen!

Much sympathy @alfredus - I know where you're at, and it is incredibly frustrating. Nothing to do with equipment or technique, just a "bad skin" patch. Hope it resolves quickly for you :)

Smooth Sunday...

Face Wash : Lime Menthol Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Razorock Peppermint Emulsion Pre-shave
Brush : Simpson Commodore 1
Soap : Martin de Candre Original
Razor : Eirene Solingen 6/8
After Shave : Top Seven Emulsion, Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan EDP

I love Sunday shaves the most of all - plenty of time and no pressure. I can (and did) lie in bed and plan my shave. I chose the Simpson Commodore today - it's just broken in and is performing beautifully. Paired with the Martin de Candre a brilliant lather is almost guaranteed, and I certainly got it. MdC may not use tallow in his soaps, but they are so good the point becomes irrelevant. MdC is definitely in my top 3 or 4 shaving soaps.

Having achieved a magnificent glossy lather, time to shave. I chose the Eirene razor today - (a) because it will be only the second time it has ever shaved any face, (b) because I have honed it (I believe) to perfection and (c) because I'm sure it will deliver that German smoothness that really makes a Sunday shave.

I was right about the razor. It dished up a fantastic shave without any little problems whatsoever. As smooth as silk, it is still more than sharp enough to deliver a really close shave. The fairly usual 2 passes left me near BBS, and then a little spot control finished the job properly, leaving me feeling great. I finished up with my new favourite (Top Seven), followed a while later by my newest fragrance, "Ambre Sultan" created by Serge Lutens and enabled by @Osman ;)

Wishing the rest of you great Sunday Shaves and a great Sunday :)

Razor: Gillette NEW Short Comb
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Muhle Silvertip Fibre 27
Soap: Chiseled Face Summer Storm
Post Shave: Myrsol Limon

Every time I use this brush I wonder why I spend so much on badger. Truly excellent and the NEW made short work of 3 days growth.

Razor: Rockwell 6S (2,4)
Blade: GSB (3)
Soap: Shaver Heaven Peppermint Plus
Brush: The Body Shop Synthetic
After: Alum, Myrsol Formula "C", Natio Calming after shave balm

Seeing as I shaved yesterday, i thought I would tone the Rockwell down and have a small play around today.
Whipped up a good lather, being able to spend a little more time this morning. Mrs Normie was out and the kids were entertained!
Have had trouble getting the lather to an acceptable point with the synth. Definitely a case of "ADD MORE WATER" when it comes to this one!
Did 2 XTG passes from the get go, then changed it up to the 4 plate on the Rockwell for the ATG pass. Think I might do that in reverse next time...
The result was a nice shave with some irritation under the neck.
The Myrsol did it's usual, feeling great after applying. But the irritation was a little too much for just Myrsol this morning.
The Natio is ok as a balm, but I need to explore some better alternatives I think.
Will definitely have to look into @Anthony's balms, and when it's released, @shavetheman's balm.:)
Also I need to look into a better synthetic brush soon. Might have to give Mrs Normie some subtle (As a sledgehammer) hints! ;)

Thank you my friend and beautiful shave!

Soap: SV 70th anniversary
Razor: iKon B1 OSS
Blade: Timor Solingen
Post: alum, witch hazel and Myrsol Agua Balsamica

Synth Sunday
Selected the Wolfwhiskers for my Sunday shave. This brush amazes me every time I use it. It's so soft, probably the softest tips of them all, within my collection.

SV once again performs like a champion. Paired up with the Wolfwhiskers, every lather pass makes me feel like an Italian white marble sculpture. The lather looks marble-y white and glossy. The lather feels so slick, dense and luxurious. Top notch product. Every time I use it for my SOTD, I am always left with a smile.

Finished off with one of my favourite Myrsol splashes - Agua Balsamica.

Another damn fine shave. Ready for Monday.

Synth Sunday

Pre-Shave
Proraso Green Pre-Shave
Brush The Grooming Company Sythnetic Brush
Soap Mitchell Wool Fat
Razor Gillette Slim
Blade GSB (4)
Post Shave Dickson's Original Witch Hazel

Been unable to shave since last Sunday due to having had a BCC removed from my nose (I now have a third nostril) and being unable to get the dressing wet. Gives Wet Shaving a new twist when you have to be careful on how wet your face can get.

Fortunately the Proraso Green Pre-Shave in lavish amounts helps to relieve the lack of pre-shave soak or wet towel.
Da Fat is a very forgiving soap and even when quite dry still is very cushioning and allowed the GSB in the Slim to cut through a weeks growth without too much tugging.

Face lathering with the TGC Synth is always a pleasure.

Happy Shaving, don't forget the sun screen and get any weird spots checked out.

Good advice regarding sunscreen and hope your recovering well.

Slim razor
Vintage London bridge blade *3
Stirling glacial obsidian soap
Omega 10005 brush
Alcolado glacial splash

London bridge (Wilkie super sword edge) going well so far. Nice and smooth. So much better than the vintage Gillette blade I had in before.
I barely noticed the splash going on.

I really didn't need to shave tonight ---- but ---- anyway it was a product test as well. @alfredus and I made a soap together today but I have to say unless it cures into a better soap it is not one of the best I have made. I used a new tallow in the recipe and possibly it wasn't up to scratch. Or we added a small amount of Shea Butter at the end which is not saponified so maybe that is impeding the soap's performance. Even with a well loaded brush the lather was less than stellar in my scuttle. However on a synth and face lathered it was quite reasonable. I will let this one cure for a few weeks and try it again.

5/8" straight 2 and a bit passes and a very pleasant DFS.

Was great watching your soap making art in person and sorry to hear you don't like...I have to let mine sit till June anyway - hope it will be up to scratch by then!
