Pre: GFT Lime Skin Food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: PSI
Post: Alum, Witch Hazel, B&M Arctique

Again, using the wet method (this time i gave it a little squeeze, but still ample amount of water in the brush), I achieved tasty lather. Lather shots here. Soap performed brilliantly, I am so glad I made this purchase. Thanks @Psmith for the enabling.

What's going on?! The razor that used to give me many nicks and burns, I've been using it two days in a row!! I think it's because of fantastic slick lather. With good lather, almost anything is possible. Another great shave achieved, no nicks, irritations nor cuts.

Pre: Musgo Real Lime Oil Soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Savile Row 3824 Silvertip Badger
Soap: DR Harris Arlington
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Feather (1)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion, B.P. Grade Witch Hazel
A/S: DR Harris Arlington
Cologne: DR Harris Arlington

Yes - it's A for Arlington day for this little black duck. Hell - I even slapped on some Arlington deodorant and talcum powder.

The Shave soap is a beauty - just need to take a little extra time to build lather, as the triple-milled puck is rock hard.

Was very impressed with my first use of Myrsol Emulsion. Very moisturizing, both pre and post.

Cheering on N Ireland in the Euro's.

Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Vintage Schick Super Platinum (4)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson H2 Boar
Soap/Cream: CRSW Bergamot & Bay
Aftershave: Myrsol Antesol

On the way to summer!

Simpson boar is a great brush - soft and gentle but with enough backbone to whip up a great lather easily.

The CRSW people make great soaps - the B&B scent is subtle but alluring - reminiscent of spring maybe ?

Myrsol - what is there not to love!

Happy 'Hump' Day all :)

Preshave: Musgo Real Glyce soap and Proraso Red preshave cream
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: Mikes Coconut
Post Shave: Dickinsons Witch Hazel and Gummy Balm.
Three pass shave with a clean up. Coming back to the Edwin Jagger it seems so mild and inefficient but very trustworthy. The Mikes soap is absolutely brilliant and it is obvious that I need more of it. Finished off with Pure Insurrection 2 by Reyane. Smooth face and smell very nice.

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: ATT R-1 Kronos
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Doug Korn Epsilon 2-band
Lather: Mike's Bay Rum
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, Australian Emu Oil

After re-discovering my Weber, I I thought it would be time to take a look at my ATT R-1. It is definitely the most aggressive razor I still have in the Den and I felt a lot of blade. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I just noticed.

The end result was a super close shave, but unfortunately also a small nick on my philtrum - I guess I have to practise with this razor a bit more.

Really enjoy the new Doug Korn handle for my Epsilon 2-band knot - what a difference a comfortable handle makes and the Mikes lather was great (picture here).

Hope every one enjoys their shaves and has a nice Wednesday (y)

For any other curious uneducated shaver out there -

The philtrum (Latin: philtrum, Greek: φίλτρον philtron), or medial cleft, is a vertical groove in the middle area of the upper lip, common to many mammals, extending in humans from the nasal septum to the procheilon. [Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philtrum]

Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Soap
Pre-Shave : Razorock Peppermint Pre-Shave Emulsion
Brush : Plisson La Maison du Barbier
Soap : Van Yulay Bay Rum
Razor : Folding Kamisori Zubari #1 Hoshimasa
After Shave : Alum, Speick AS

No fanfare or bling today, but a great shave nonetheless. The Van Yulay soap is very good - it produces a beautifully wet, creamy lather and gives it up pretty easily. Van Yulay's spin on Bay Rum is certainly unusual, but it's a really appealing fragrance in its own right. Needless to say, the Plisson had it well covered as far as making the lather happen.

Today's razor is another folding kamisori like the Nobels that I enjoyed so much over the last few days. The only significant difference is that the Zubari is a few millimetres longer - still much shorter than a "standard" European style razor. It delivered a very capable shave - 2 passes to DFS++ It wasn't quite as brilliant a shave as the Nobels has been giving me, so I'm wondering if I can "tweak" the edge to produce a slightly more comfortable result.

I went for a slimmed down post-shave routine today, skipping a balm and using just the Speick after shave splash. In addition to its clean, pleasant fragrance it must have some skin care components, because it always leaves me with a really good face feel :)
