Is that the Envy @filobiblic ? You starting to like it or still too much scrub?

Its grown on me. [emoji4] I love the handle and knot size. It's more scrubby than my SM's but to call it "scrubby" is unfair.

I don't think I've got the same knot as your brush (but I could be wrong).

Do you have a fan?

Razor: EJ DE86
Blade: Asco SS (2)
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Soap: WSP Rustic
After: TN Dickinson WH with Aloe Vera

Back to proper shaving after yesterday's brush with the Dark Side. The Asco is holding up well, still very comfortable, may have lost a bit of sharpness. Still achieved a very fine shave.

I'm going to have to make up another batch of WH + Aloe as I'm just about on empty. I think I used about 20% Aloe last time, but I might bring that back to 10-15% and see if it makes any noticeable difference. The current batch has been very effective at post-shave soothing and cost bugger all to make :D

@GregP - good to see you have escaped the tractor beam, negotiated the Tie Fighter screen, and returned to our ranks.

Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Astra Superior Stainless (5)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: LPL Shaving Soap
Aftershave: LPL Aftershave splash

Feeling like a little vege today - the LPL delivered well. Hmmm, good start to the day ...

Pre: GFT Sandalwood Skin Food
Razor: Progress,3.0,Feather
Cream: TOBS Sandalwood
Post: GFT Sandalwood Skin Food - light application/Chatillon Lux ''Vide Poche''

I am really enjoying the Chatillon Lux range, very sophisticated scents that pair with a large number of my soaps. I am eagerly waiting for 'Forth and Pine' to arrive along with a resupply of my other balms. A great Friday shave this morning, always enjoyable as the weekend is fast approaching. My usual 2 pass, WTG XTG due to winter taking its toll on my face and trying to avoid any rawness. A pleasing shave, the Vide Poche making a nice traveling companion in the car on the trip to work.

Preshave: Musgo Real glyce soap and Proraso Sandalwood preshave cream
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Simpsons Commodore X2
Soap: Phoenix and Beau Spitfire
Post Shave: TSW balm and Penhaligons Quercus
Three pass shave. Distinctly English feel to the major components of this shave. The Phoenix and Beau lathered up easily with the Simpsons brush and the Edwin Jagger removed my two day growth to leave me smooth and soft. Second use of the Phoenix and Beau and an excellent soap it is. Thick and creamy lather that provides excellent protection throughout a full three pass shave. Post shave is also excellent with a moisturised, soft skin feeling. With such quality products in hand it was always going to be a shave that starts the day with a bang.

Razor: Rockwell 6S #2
Blade: Permasharp Super (6)
Brush: RR Monster 26mm
Soap/Cream: Stirling SDM
Aftershave: Thayers Medicated & Myrsol Blue

Stirling is really hard to beat. Great value and top performance. The residual glide is the best of any soaps I've tried to date, and just gives an awesome post-shave feel.

So I had about 9 or 10 days growth owing to the fact that I'm on holidays and I haven't been well (and most importantly I was hoping the slim I bought would get here before the end of this week, but alas it did not) so I thought I'd go for the biggest gun in my arsenal: the fatip grande!

I thought it would be a bit of fun to make it an all Italian affair (imagine my disappointment when I read "made in Germany" on the bolzano blade tuck, but I digress.

Pre: Hot shower and proraso green pre/post
Razor: fatip grande
Blade: bolzano
Brush: omega sbrush
Soap: proraso green
Post: proraso green pre/post

Took it very light with this aggressive razor and was rewarded with an awesome shave! Could have stopped after two passes, but decided to go for a ATG pass, keeping it super light and got a really nice, close, smooth shave :)

This was my first shave with a bolzano and it was fine, no issues getting through the 8 or 9 days growth I had with ease.

The brush is the second brush I ever bought and I was reminded today why after I got my whipped dog synthetic I pretty much never touched the omega again. It produces lather easily, but the face feel leaves a lot to be desired. It's scrubby and scratchy and just not any fun to use.

Still, fantastic shave over all.

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: Supply Provisions Single Edge Mild
Blade: Schick Injector (1)
Brush: Paladin Chief
Lather: Stirling Bay Rum
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, Australian Emu Oil

The blade makes a huge difference to the razor - it was so much smoother. The mild plate on the other hand is not effective enough. Have to go back to medium or even aggressive...

Fantastic lather today (picture here) - Stirling is IMO one of the underrated soaps. They get always good reviews, but not those glowing ones some of the other artisans receive. For me, they are absolutely up there.

Hope you had a good end to the week and a great weekend ahead (y)

Public Holiday in The 'Ville today,

Cold water shave at 4:00pm. Gotta love day's off.
Soap: Shaver Heaven Vetiver & Neroli
Brush: Simpson Berkeley badger
Face lather
Blade: Dovo Inox 5/8 in Pearlex scales.

When I was first exposed to Vetiver soaps all I could smell was peanuts here but the more I use it the more I smell bushland. Just a good, honest scent. Not florally or "nice" but ... ... ... anyway, I'm into it.

The last few days I've dropped down from my daily 3 pass shave to a 2 pass shave realising I don't need to do the 3 pass ritual each morning; I'm going to work not to a wedding. I think I might move to night shaving also. I fully awake, loaded with caffeine and my physical coordination (reduced from a cerebellum injury years ago; or is it just I'm a unco???) is in check. The Dovo gave a close and smooth shave with one small nick in my regular area of trouble; a hollow on my non-dominant left hand on my neck.

Finished with an alum block and then some Pinaud Clubman. Wish I had another day off tomorrow.
It only lasted 2 days ... ... ... evening shaves that is. By lunch time I definitely I definitely need a shave it's been back to morning shaves since. This morning:

Cold water shave - down to 12 degrees in the 'Ville today.
Brush: cheap synth - too hard/scritchy even for me but does the job
Soap: Shaver Heaven Vetiver & Neroli (blue tub)
Face lather
Blade: Gold Dollar 6/8
3 pass

Good to be clean shaven all day again. It may have only been 2 days but that was enough.

@alfredus you've already told me about Mike's Bay Rum so I'm asking what's Stirling Bay Rum like any good ?, and if so which Bay Rum soap which you choose over all throughout you're shave.

Cheers ;)

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac, my Mandarb
Soap: SV 70th
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: PSI
Post: alum, witch hazel, Myrsol Agua Balsamica

Lather was great! Drippy wet slick, but not so protective as the tallows.

Shave was great, but I do miss the tallows. Maybe tomorrow.

Myrsol, lovely lovely.
