@alfredus What's the Mystic Water Soap Bay Rum like any good compare these two above, should be able to help you to choose very wisely :D;)

Not to introduce a confounding third variable (and I use the Stirling regularly and agree it is sweet) but Barrister and Mann makes a fantastic Bay Rum also.

I have never tried Mystic Water's nor Barrister and Mann's Bay Rum versions. I only use soaps with Essential oils and both of those have Fragrance Oils in them...

Having said that, both Will and Michelle have some beautiful scented soaps, so I can only assume, that their Bay Rum is also fantastic.

Pre: Musgo Real Lime Oil Soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Super Badger
Soap: B&M Rhapsody
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Feather (1)
Post: Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Cologne: Acca Kappa 1869

Took a while to build lather, but once it became workable, it formed a very cushioning medium for the Feather blade to glide through. The Chubby continues to break in, and is a pleasure to use. After the third pass, re-applied remaining lather for a clean-up, but struggled to find any areas that needed attention, which is a first for me. I love the warm, complex fragrance of Rhapsody, and the post shave feel was very good. Another first for me - no irritation. The Myrsol combo ensured that my skin continued to feel great. I have found that I get best results massaging the Antisol in directly after the warm water rinse whilst face is still slightly wet. I then apply a cold water splash, and apply Emulsion.
Felt a more exotic cologne was needed to pair with the Rhapsody - 1869 was spot on.

Pre: GFT Lime Skin Food
Brush: SOC
Soap: P&B Spitfire
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: PSI
Post: Alum, witch hazel, Myrsol Plastic Shave

Amazing lather tonight. Lather created was nothing short of amazing. Slick, protective and moisturising as well, provided me with a very comfortable shave.

Nothing shaves like a slant. I really am enjoying this slant. Very amazingly efficient and shaves great. Although it does work best with tallowate base soaps with me.

@Psmith and @TomG I do agree that the scent is a little unusual initially, but the performance is solid. Leaves your face feel so good, and eventually you will grow to like the scent. Like me!

Razor: Gillette Fatboy (5)
Blade: Dorco Prime (1)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson reknotted in 'pure'
Soap/Cream: Phoenix & Beau - Spitfire
Aftershave: Soap Commander Courage Balm

After doing some sorting, sampling for PCTB4 and trading I have a change in the contents of my drawer and some 'new' soaps to try!

Also giving the Dorco Prime another run - this time in the Fatboy. Brief thoughts on that here - Dorco Prime Platinum

Occam's Original Soap
Brush: Simpson Ch1
Razor: Progress,3.0, Feather
Soap: Barrister and Mann 'Seville'
Post: Stirling Barbershop

A muted Sunday shave, enjoyable, contemplative and spicy. A frankly excellent lather from the B+M with no real surprises there and a soap I usually like in Summer given an outing to break things up a little bit. A nice balm from stirling, the scent is a little 'proud' however it's bearable and has a nice longevity once on the face. They do a nice balm skin wise, soothing and a little spicy.

I have an ATT R1 Colossus w' inkwell stand arriving from @shavetheman sometime soon and to say I am 'chomping at the bit' for it to arrive would be an understatement given the good things I have read on the maker.

Every single time you post an image of one of your many Vintage butterscotch Simpson brushs a small part of me dies with wanting one

Great photo too, the counter and the razor work awesomely.

Razor: EJ DE86
Blade: Asco SS (3)
Brush: EJ Best Badger
Soap: EJ Lime & Pomegranate
After: TN Dickinson WH with Aloe Vera

Nice Sunday shave before we go to lunch. Love the fresh scent of the EJ lime. The Asco is still comfortable but definitely getting duller. Good 3-pass shave but had to spend a bit of time on the cleanup. Still managed a very fine shave. Might have a bit more in it, but I'll bin it now.

LOL - they are really just shots of the same ones - my bench-top rotation -

So no need to die at all!

Preshave: Musgo Real Glyce soap and Proraso sandalwood preshave cream
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: Mystic Water Sweet Briar
Post Shave: TSW balm and Fine Platinum AS and Pure II Insurrection EDT.
Three pass shave on a Sunday so it was a luxurious, time consuming shave. This razor/blade combination works very well for me and I was rewarded with an irritation free smooth face. Finished off with the balm and then one of my favorite scented aftershaves and EDT to top it off.

Thursday's shave

Pre:
Shower
Brush: Epsilon Vie Long badger (On loan from @Draco Noir)
Soap: Mystic Water - Raspberry Lemon
Razor: KikuOkan 77 (On loan from @Draco Noir)
Post: Alum, Myrsol Blue

The KikuOkan 77 is a great little razor, its even shorter than the Kubosho which is the asymmetrical grind razor I used in my previous shave. I am really enjoying the feel and manoeuvrability of these shorter razors. I also really like having a few different razors to choose from and while they are all different to each other I wouldn't say one is better or worse than another, just different in their own way while all providing a great shave. The KikuOkan is a great looker IMO being very aesthetically pleasing. The only issue I've been facing is settling on only one razor to use per shave!

As with the other Mystic Waters soap I've tried so far the Raspberry Lemon was no exception that it was a very nice scent while being very easy to produce a slick creamy protective lather.

Sunday's shave

Pre:
Shower
Brush: Epsilon Vie Long badger (On loan from @Draco Noir)
Soap: Mystic Water - Jasmine
Razor: Solingen (On loan from @Draco Noir)
Post: Alum, Nivea A/S Balm

Had a nice relaxing shave, the Solingen is a very nice razor and while being a pleasure to use it certainly lacks the potency of the Kubosho or the KikuOkan. That's not to say the Solinger is not as good or it provides any less of a fantastic shave, I just found the other two razors to be more angry if that makes sense. In fact the Solinger was perfect for today's shave as it allowed me to let my mind wander which was very relaxing.

I'm feel like I'm really finding my feet being able to pick up very different types of straight razors and having a great nick free shave each time.

FRAT:
Great shaves, feel very comfortable with whatever straight I pick up, really enjoying the diversity of the various straights too.

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: Supply Provisions Single Edge Aggressive
Blade: Schick Injector (2)
Brush: Doug Korn Epsilon 2-band
Lather: Mystic Water Jeff's Lavender
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, Australian Emu Oil

Best shave with the SE so fr, but it was still not as smooth as I had hoped. It was very close today, but also felt harsh. I will go back to the medium plate and keep the Schick blade. Hopefully this will improve things.

The lather on the other hands was deliciously superb - picture here in the lather section.
