Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Menthol Glycerin Soap
Pre-Shave : Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Brush : Fine
Soap : Stirling Ozark Mountain
Razor : Fujisuki Kamisori
After Shave : Argan Oil, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man

Today's SOTD is courtesy of our new member @PMS79, who graciously gave me the petite Fujisuki Kamisori. Being Saturday, I decided on a bit of extra indulgence today, and gave my face a blissful hot towel treatment before apllying the Alt Innsbruck emulsion. Pure heaven - my skin felt wonderful before I even got to lathering up. Looking for a tallow based change in the soap department, I reached for a Stirling and pulled out the Ozark Mountain soap. Lucky choice - a beautifully slick lather with a bracing conifer influenced scent. The Fujisuki is quite a small Kamisori, but laser sharp and perfectly balanced which makes it a sporty little joy to use. I sailed through a WTG pass, then a hybrid XTG/ATG pass to finish off. I was left with a wonderful skin feel and an extra smooth result. A good marinating with Stirling's Sharp Dressed Man AS splash fitted the mood perfectly, and finished off a very pleasing Saturday shave indeed. Thank you @PMS79 for the Kamisori and the inspiration :)(y)

Thanks @khun_diddy - it's a nice looking Kami. Surprised you're having sharpening difficulties with it. Nice to see that there is still somebody keeping me company in Kamisori shaving (y) Most of the others seem to have fallen by the wayside....
Used my kami last week (or was it the week before???) and felt like it needed a hone. Been refining my touch with the straights over the last couple of weeks since the musketeer went and I shape a pencil thin mustache. Must try the kami again tomorrow and see whether it does need a hone or I was just having a bad day.

Yeah @Dale.Whiley - come back to the fold occasionally mate! Pencil thin mustache - wow, I bet that takes some seriously precision work with the straight. You are awarded 5 genuine Draco Style Points for that one mate - awesome stuff (y)

Sword: Takemaru
Suds: Gent's 60% Tea Tree / Omega S10108
Salve: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

First shave with a soap I made 10 weeks ago. It's 60% olive oil so I didn't have high hopes of success. Surprisingly, the lather is stable! I feel that this would not have been the case without the added 1.25% w/w jojoba oil which has remarkable effects on the lather quality.

Unfortunately, there was a little tingling which is due to the tea tree oil (2.9% w/w). No irritation per se but not ideal. It won't stop me from using up the soap but I'll avoid this EO at this potency going forward.

Also, this is a pure KOH soap. Given the high percentage of OO it is a very soft croap so maybe 70/30 K/Na would be better.

Overall, I'm very excited that 60% is doable and I consider this experiment a resounding success.

Preshave: PAA Ice preshave soap
Razor: Gillette Black Beauty
Blade: Permasharp Super
Brush: Vie Long Horse
Soap: TOBS Coconut
Post Shave: Nivea Balm and Proraso Green AS
First use of this razor so I tentatively set it on 2. Barely felt the blade on my face on the first pass WTG. Set it to 5 on the second pass XTG and much better but still too mild. Did a clean up under the chin and leave it at that. The result is an irritation and nick free DFS. Next time I use this I think I will go to 7 on the scale. Exactly 12 months since I started wet shaving with a DE and proper soap and brush. Just enjoy shaving so much now. On a sentimental note, the razor belonged to my father and he was the last person to use it, until today.

And a Jimmy Buffet fan too @Dale.Whiley? Extra Draco Style Points, and thanks for posting the vid mate (y):)(y)
Love those lines:

So if you find yourself in that nostalgic rage,
C'mon, jump right up and show your age.
Find myself with that nostalgia desire more and more often (and realising a lot of the things I like were from an age now long gone). But like Dad taught me, "Don't throw your ties out. They come back into fashion every 20 years".

Used the kami again this morning. Shave was great with no tugging. Hone not required. I obviously was having a "bad hair day" last week.

Ouch....:( Fortunately some things will probably never come back - bell bottomed pants, anyone?

Pre-Shave: Occams pre-shave soap, cold water
Razor: Wolfman WR1-SB with WRH2
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac 2-band Silvertip
Lather: Mystic Waters Bergamot, Cedarwood & Juniper
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Glycerin Soap
Brush : SOC Boar
Soap : Le Pere Lucien
Razor : iKon DLC Slant
Blade: PolSilver SI
After Shave: Alum, Thayers, Baxter's Balm

Outstanding shave with the slant. Probably didn't load enough soap, but did get 3 passes (just) although the SOC is beginning to feel a bit floppy.
I really love this soap. It's rare for me to use the same soap 4 days in a row, but I can't stop using it, the results are amazing.
Retried the Baxter's Balm. It was my first after shave balm and I always thought it wasn't soothing enough. Well what do you know, could it be that my technique was not all it could have been? Now, with a decent lather and technique it works a treat. I am really impressed with it.
