Brush: - Semogue SOC 2 Band Badger in Cherry Wood 24/53mm
Lather: - Arko Shaving Soap
Razor: - Merkur 34C
Blade: - Perma-Sharp Super #1
Post Shave: - T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent / Speick Aftershave Splash

Razor - Merkur 34C HD
Blade - Perma Sharp
Brush - Omega Synthetic
Cream - TOBS Rose
Aftershave - Proraso Splash
Balm - Stray Whisker after shave balm

This was my first shave with the Perma Sharp blade, great shave very smooth and close. Really enjoyed the shave. Also the TOBS creams I know they don't get as much love as they used to with all these new artisans around. But I still love the TOBS and I get some of my best shaves with them still.

Brush - Semogue 620
Soap - B&M Leviathan
Razor - Dovo Diamant/ Edwin Jagger Kelvin
Blade - Personna Lab Blue (2)
Post Shave - Witch Hazel, TSW After Balm

First go with the straight today! :)
Did my first pass with the DE as per some great advice (thanks @bald as ), then the second pass with the straight. I didn’t go anywhere near my Adams’ Apples though!
I was pretty happy with my first attempt. Didn’t lose my nose or anything, but have got a long way to go until I’m am anywhere even close to being proficient with these things.
The only claret spilled was from me nicking my nose with the DE. What the hell???

Brush: Simpsons Classic 1
Razor: EJ 89
Blade: Aussie Spoiler
Cream: GFT Limes
A/S: GFT Skinfood

Another great shave with Trumpers. The Aussie Spoiler works a lot better in the EJ than the Aristocrat Jnr, three passes with minimal touch ups and an excellent BBS was had.

Glad to hear you are making progress. It is a real skill and takes awhile to master, but suddenly one day it will be second nature.
I keep saying those DE's are vicious little blood suckers. :)

My shave tonight was a hypocritical departure from my usual Boar brush. I used an early 19th century Rubberset I recently restored with a 20mm Best Badger knot. I have to admit it works very well. Very different to my boar's but excellent no less. I have a very nice 24mm Silver tip but this 20mm is [for me] a superior brush. It is getting better with each use.

Soap wise I really went off track as well using Mike's Lavender but got back on course with my 6/8" Invicta.
2 passes DFS+ and no blood.

Pre - Musgo Real Glyce
Brush - Shavemac D01 2.5 Band Americana
Soap - Tabac
Razor - Vintage Boker King Cutter 5/8"
Post Shave - Alum, Myrsol Plastic

Whilst not my prettiest razor the Boker takes an amazing edge and is fast becoming one of my favourites. BBS++

Whilst it does take skill and experience I was surprised at how quickly I got to a stage where I am happy with my straight shaves. I think using a DE for all that time previously helps as you know all about lather. I was also lucky in that I enjoyed aggressive DE razors (R41, iKon Tech) with a lot of blade feel. In my very very limited experience so much of straight shaving (for me) is about tuning in to the blade on your face. It's why I enjoy it that much more than a DE. Great start @Benjamin

Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point

For today's shave I chose my Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, the razor celebrating sixty years this renowned Italian artisan dedicated to straight razor. Mastro Livi in fact started working on straight razors in 1955, when he was fourteen and his father allowed him to hone his very first straight razor as he finally thought his son was ready to work on such a noble shaving tool. Mastro Livi learned the art of honing from his father since he was five and he divided his time between working on family's workshop and school. I am enjoying my Mastro Livi Club Shave Brush 2016 Edition very much indeed! It is the only shave brush I am using lately and I love it! Great super silvertip badger loft, beautiful and awesome look, absolutely fitting my hand with its perfect balance and weight. A champion in mounting the lather from Tabac Original Shave Soap, a shave ending with the elegant touch of Floïd Black.
  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: Tabac Original
  • Brush: Mastro Livi Club Super Silvertip Badger 2016, Poplar - Black Ebony - Stainless Steel - Lapislazzuli Handle, 26mm knot
  • Bowl: Old Barber Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi Grifetto 60, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Oil
  • After Shave: Floïd Black

Pre: Hot shower, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: DR Harris Best Badger H3
Soap: Speick stick
Razor: Gillette Fusion (1)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
Cologne: DR Harris Arlington

On the road, so no choice but the cart. The water in these parts is primarily snow melt, and thus very soft. The Speick lathered beautifully - it is, along with Valobra, my go-to travel soap.
That's where the positive adjectives come to a screaming halt. It's been maybe a year since I've used a cart, and my memory is that the fusion gives a reasonable shave, whilst nowhere near as good as a proper razor. I was genuinely shocked with this shave. Tug - tug - tug, and the head felt flimsy and ineffective.
The result was a close shave, but very uncomfortable and a nasty rash/irritation on the right side of my neck, which is typically not a problem area.
Eased the burn somewhat with liberal amounts of icy water, then two applications of Emulsion about 15 min apart.
I am not looking forward to the next shave.

Well done, @Benjamin! Gutsy effort. There are some wise straight razor users on this Forum guiding you.

Above the Tie Colossus R1
Feather
Mystic Water - Coconut, Lime Verbena
APR - sandale de citron verviene Aftershave balm
Geo F Trumper - West Indian Lime Skin Food
APR - sandale de citron verviene Aftershave splash

A nice citrus start to a humid monday, working up the Mystic lather was a real treat this morning with this fantastic scent. Back to the ATT which is a noticeably more efficient razor, a really sharp shave this morning. A refreshing cold water clean off then on with the Geo F and Australian Private Reserve balm and splash I made for this soap, perfect for the warm humid weather.

Shave well you blokes, have a bonza day :)

Sorry to hear that @TomG

SOTOD
Feather AC DX with Pro blades (7)
TOBS "Gentleman's Luxury" cream
Proraso Brush
WH, Nivea ASB
Another 1 pass WTG CCS. I don't normally like creams as the product doesn't seem to go very far but this one worked well - it was a freebie in my G&C package. No facial damage other than a tiny weeper.

Feather AC DX with Pro blades (8)
Cella
Omega 80266
WH, Bulldog Original ASB
Stepped up to 2 pass WTG DFS today. I tried loading Cella with the Marco method for a change but ended up with water and product flying everywhere. I don't know how people do that with a pre-soaked boar - too much water! Eventually got the lather under control and had a wonderful shave with no damage at all - my skin feels great! Either I'm getting the hang of this blade or it has lost some of its wicked sharpness to become more manageable... I have no idea if my palm stropping is doing anything! Loved the Cella - although I shaved after breakfast it still left me with a hankering for some ricciarelli...
