Shave of the Day Thread - 2016

I'm really beginning to understand why the 4/8" was such a popular size simply for under the nose.
The one I have is about 1/4 hollow and is very definite when it removes whiskers.
Main razor for the shave was a Rituky 6/8" full hollow that sings like a Japanese soprano.
I face lathered this evening but will return to the scuttle tomorrow night.
Face, scuttle, they are similar in the result but I think for a straight I prefer the scuttle lather.
Probably just imaginings though on my part.
2 pass, DFS+ and a very pleased straight razor shaver.
Forgot to mention, no irritation and finished with the Macadamia/Lemon myrtle.

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce
Soap: SV Cosmo
Brush: Shavemac D01 2 Band fan 25/52
Razor: Kropp Sheffield 5/8
A/S: Alt Innsbruck

A lovely smooth shave with the Kropp which mowed down a few days growth with ease. First use of the D01 2 Band and I am incredibly impressed. I was under the impression that this would nigh on unstable for at least 20 uses or so, but the brush was great straight out of the blocks. Tons of backbone, scrub and scritch for sure, although I was expecting that. But less scritch than my other D01 (which is in bulb) - possibly due to the loft. The hairs are very strong and thick and it whipped up an excellent lather with the SV.

Razor: Merkur 15c
Blade: Gillette Rubie

Took my time this morning and it was smooth easy and thoroughly relaxing. The Shavemac has totally cured my appetite for badgers. In rotation with a good boar I feel very pleased.

I'm quite glad my Mystic order arrived sooner rather than lather, a beautiful scent of strong grapefruit with floral undertones from the soap and the expected excellent performance from the soap. A 2 pass shave and then a welcome drenching in cold water made for a very pleasing Saturday morning post-drinks shave.

First use of the GS today, a scent I have been working on based on the Mystic sample I received, Vanilla, flowers and a strong and lasting Grapefruit nose that is tart and well rounded. I am very pleased with this one and it will definitely be in high rotation throughout summer alongside 3 other new summer scents.

Shave well and be the glorious bastards I know you are :)

Razor: Rockwell 6S #3 (Its the only one I have at the moment ;))
Blade: Rockwell (2nd Shave)
Brush: TF Huon Pine Badger
Soap/Cream: Beaver Woodwright Aladdin's Spice
Aftershave: Beaver Woodwright Aladdin's Spice

What a nice start to a Saturday morning. I found this soap loaded to my crappy brush very easily this morning compared to my previous shave. The soap lathered very easily and I did not need to keep loading the brush in between each face lather this time either. The spicy smell I found very pleasing during the shave. 1st pass WTG 2nd pass XTG and third and final pass ATG.
I found this soap to be very slick during my shave comparing it to my previous shave. Final face rinse with warm then cold water and clean rinse and dry of the equipment. It was then that I cracked the bottle of Aladdins Spice aftershave open with a quick splash to the hands and a gentle rub and pat to the face and the spicy aroma was incredible:cool: some three hours later and I am still smelling these beautiful and strong spicy scents. Absolutely refreshing and awesome!!

Pre - Hot towel
Brush - Semogue 620
Soap - B&M Leviathan
Razor - Bengall/ Edwin Jagger Kelvin
Blade - Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
Post Shave - Alum,TSW After Balm

Back on the straight razor wagon again, now that my blades have been properly honed. Thanks @bald as ;)
This Bengall was my late Grandfather's and has been sitting in my treasure box for years, so it's kind of special to have it back in action and to use it myself.
I did 2 passes using the straight on my face and the DE for below the jaw line. The first pass felt pretty awkward, but the second was lovely. I’m looking forward to more of these…
Knowing how sharp this blade was, I have never concentrated so hard. No claret was spilt though, I just managed to make a slight scrape above my chin.
Not a bad result at all!

I had big plans to wake up and break out the Eufros Fougère and choix Alfredus but it turns out I had sold it all and had none bottled up (using the 1 liter decanting bottles would be too risky in the bathroom) - that's right, I bloody pork-chopped myself on my own birthday

Needs must, I decided that I would go with the incorrectly labeled Tea Bag because there is nothing like a bit of tea bagging first thing in the morning using your own aftershave that has a typographical error on the label. Fantastic shave and scent from the Cheshire and I am well chuffed with the exactness of the tea-bag scent, it is almost perfectly aligned to the Cheshire which was my intention - it's earl grey in a bottle. A really relaxed two passes, laughing at the fact I had run out of my own aftershave and had made a spelling mistake on my own label (sachet tha not sachet a the) an overall a very pleasing and bloody funny morning shave.

Have a good one youse blokes (y)

Brush: M7
Razor: Weber
Blade: Vintage Polsilver
Soap: Wickhams Super Smooth Bay Rum
A/S: PAA Alcohol Free Bay Rum

Forgot just how good the Wickhams Super Smooth really is, slicker than a used car salesman and the perfect amount of cushion. Topped off with the equally impressive PAA Bay Rum and I really couldn't be happier.

Tomorrow's SOTD I have something borrowed.

Razor: Fatboy
Brush: Paladin Shavenook LE (borrowed)
Blade: Gillette Rubie
Soap: AOS tallow
Post: Balsamica

Recently lent out the AOS and it has now come back. The consensus is performance is top notch. Scent is pretty non existent but performance would be hard to beat.
