Haven't used the i colonial in a while. This morning shave reminded me little can come close!
What a scent! What a great soap all round... [emoji1417] Love it.

Razor: Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum (3)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Culmak - reknotted with TGM Finest
Soap/Cream: B&M Roam
Aftershave: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Will have to post some conclusions on this blade tomorrow ...

The smoothness seems to be smoother than that from a DE or am I making this up?

Absolutely not. Now this is only my opinion :) but a DE is a razor with some sought of identity crisis that is vicious and waiting to scar you for life. A straight, SE or Schick injector is a much more ridged blade hence a far superior shave.

Some irritation mostly on the neck (blade angle!!), a couple of weepers but bloody good.

Plus probably one pass too many but hey it is very addictive.

standard three pass plus clean-up! I know, I know. The words of Han Solo rang in my ears the entire time "Great Kid, now don't get cocky".

I am very impressed. Do you still have a top lip and most of your chin:)

Disclaimer: You know of course my BS, DE comments are seen through very biased eyes and bare no relationship to normality or for that matter shaving;)

:p

Actually my Mrs is away at the moment and she begged me to wait until she got back before I started shaving with a straight... nothing doing!! There are three kids here. They know how to dial 000.

Pre-Shave: Occams pre-shave soap, cold water
Razor: Wolfman WR1-SB with WRH2
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Best
Lather: Mike's Hungarian Lavender
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Another heavenly shave - very glad I am scarred for life by my Wolfman @bald as :D :D :D

But on a serious note: I think a big issue with many DE's is, that they don't hold the blade as rigid as they should. Either due to poor design or maybe because modern blades are thinner than vintage ones? In any case this can lead to very uncomfortable shaves IMO

very glad I am scarred for life by my Wolfman

Nice shave. I admit even though I started with a DE I don't really think I have mastered a DE shave in all those years. I've had good shaves but after 48 years with lather on my face you would think I would understand a DE razor. Just not the case. For me.

Brush: Simpsons M7
Razor: Merkur 15c
Blade: Voskhod
Soap: Shaverheaven Peppermint
A/S: Homemade Menthol splash
Cologne: GFT Wild Fern

Great lather as always with the SH Peppermint Plus, still not the biggest fan of the Voskhods but managed a very close, irritation free shave.

Preshave : GFT limes skin food
Razor: iKon slant (will keep using the slant for a while, getting better at it)
Brush: omega 48
Crema : DR harris Windsor sampler
Blade: Feather from yesterday, 2nd shave
A/s: Alum, Thayer wh aloe, Aesop AS lotion

Another good shave. I noticed previously I have been using too much pressure on my xtg shaves on my chin. Been extra careful with it. Will give the Arlington soap another go tomorrow, it's chubby time! The Windsor has a very good woody vetiver scent, I love it as most of my perfumes are vetiver based.

Mastro Livi Grifetto

Mastro Livi Grifetto is a stunning razor. I have three in my collection and they all are wonderful and lovely shavers. Including this one Mastro Livi made for me with mother of pearl scales. Mastro Livi Grifetto is available in six different models, all having the very same blade but different scales: olive wood, Grifetto 60, cocobolo, black African ebony, white mother of pearl and abalone. As I already have olive wood and Grifetto 60, I opted for mother of pearl scales and I must admit I am very charmed and amazed by their look and beauty. When Mastro Livi made this Grifetto for me, he allowed me to shoot a video about the making which I will publish soon on my Youtube channel. I guess many fellow wet shavers would be interested in watching how a Grifetto is made and to know more about the differences between a fully artisan made Mastro Livi straight razor and Grifetto.

20160304_082904 by Osman Mehmed, on Flickr
Preshave: Proraso Green
Razor: Feather AS-D2 (thanks @Draco Noir )
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Vielong Horse
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere
Post Shave: Razorock Lime balm and Musgo Real Amber Orange
Three pass shave. Enjoyed the Martin de Candre so much the other day I went again. Tried a Polsilver in the AS-D2 and it worked very well. As good as the feather blade? Almost. I had to work a little harder to get the angle right but the end result was a superb close shave with no irritation. Both blades work extremely well in the razor with the difference being minuscule. Ready for lunch.

Face Wash : Shower
Pre-Shave : Myrsol Emulsion
Brush : Plisson
Soap : Mike's Peppermint & Rosemary
Razor : Henckels Friodur 250 (6/8")
After Shave : Thayers, Proraso Green (Menthol Boosted)

A thoroughly enjoyable shave today. The Mike's/Plisson combo produced an impeccable lather and the Henckels did a satisfyingly loud job of removing the whiskers quickly and smoothly. Two passes was enough to achieve a great result, hopefully good enough to withstand the scrutiny of an authentic tapas lunch today with 3 great friends from Paste & Cut :)

Seriously nice sounding shave, @possumbelly - are you on a promise mate? ;)

PS : Gameface? Elucidate please :)

Firstly - Gameface:
It's a facial moisturiser from Triumph & Disaster. Small amount feels great. Absorbs easily and does not leave a greasy feel. Also non irritating - great ingredients. Men's Biz sell it and it has become a regular in my routine.

"On a promise" - I had no idea what that means. ... I am now enlightened after a bit of a search.....(I must say - this forum is so educational, especially when @Draco Noir chimes in).

"In British English, "on a promise" simply means that you have arranged to or at least expect to have sex with someone in the near future - usually your regular partner".

Do you think that shave will help? Nothing has happened since then but I'll let u know how the rest of the day goes! [emoji6][emoji106]

Thanks - I can understand why it's a regular for you. Finding a totally non-greasy moisturiser isn't easy, but the right one can improve ones quality of shave a lot.

You flatter me unduly, but we will all raise a glass to your success at lunchtime today :) And yes, in my (limited) experience a superb shave does indeed help ;)
