Razor:Weber Polished Head on Bulldog Handle
Blade:Personna 'Lab' Blue (4)
Brush:Vintage butterscotch Culmak reknotted in TGN Finest
Soap/Cream:B&M Roam
Aftershave: Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns
Time: 6:46:61

Taking on @MrT 's challenge I timing the shave this morning from turning on the tap to fill the bowl to all cleaned up and ready to walk out of the bathroom. Shave was usual 2 1/2 passes. North -> South, South -> North and the jawline again.

The ‘lap’ times shown are:

Lap 1: from turning on water (and filling cup for brush to soak) to actually starting creating a lather

Lap 2: from starting to lather to razor touching my face for the first pass

Lap 3: from beginning of first pass to starting to lather for the second pass

Lap 4: from beginning of second pass to started to apply lather for the final ½ (jawline) pass

The remaining time was that final pass, rinse and dry face and aftershave application then clean up.

Not particularly rushed but felt it with the timer going. Will just doing beginning to end in future I think.

6 hours, 46 minutes and 61 seconds? I think you need your stopwatch fixed!

LOL - one does have to ENJOY one's shave and LUXURIATE a little ...

Face Wash : Musgo Real Lime Menthol Glycerine Soap
Pre-Shave : Razorock Peppermint Emulsion
Brush : Trumper SB3
Soap : Tim's Soap - Signature
Razor : Kamisori - Iwasaki
After Shave : Myrsol Antesol, Alvarez Gomez EDC
Time : 30min

Not just another great shave...

Today it was the Iwasaki Kamisori's turn in the spotlight. It's far from the sexiest Kamisori in my collection - no trace of bling whatsoever. However it comfortably holds the crown for best shaver in my collection, and comes from the most highly respected Kamisori pedigree bar none : "Kousuke Iwasaki (b. 1903, d. 1967) was more than just a maker of razors; he held a PhD in metallurgy from Tokyo University, he was apprenticed to swordsmiths and barbers, and his book "Regarding Blades," 「刃物の見方」 is still considered one of the leading works on Japanese smithing, metallurgy and Tamahagane ever written." You get the point. This razor is like the pinnacle of achievement in its field.

I created a fine lather from the Tim's Signature - I'm going to have to go carefully with the Tim's Soaps after the recent bad news that he has packed it in and will not make any more soaps. Then time to do the shaving bit. I try to be respectful to the tradition of Kamisori shaving, especially when using the Iwasaki. It entails using only one hand, and keeping the same side of the razor to the face for the entire shave. As a couple of the other Kami users here have discovered, this can involve some interesting contortions for the more difficult spots  Still, I wasn't in a hurry (as my shave time indicates) and managed to execute two excellent passes while observing tradition.

A pleasant finish - Myrsol's Antesol, then half an hour or so later an indulgent spray of Alvarez Gomez. It's great to be alive :)

MACA Root Shave Cream ( On loan from Lifes A Peach) WTF WTF this shit is frigging awesome lathers like nothing else I've used in 2 weeks on application there is more cushioning then a giant expensive pillow and the slickness well unbeleivable, post shave is beautiful. The scent and there is one fresh is the best way I could describe it. And to be even more insulting to other soaps creams like Shaver Heaven, D H Harris, GFT it's only $15.95 from The Boddy Shop 125m

Interesting because I watched "Nick Shaves" review of that very soap yesterday.

I will call you on price though @FatBoy58 . Shaver Heaven has just had a price drop bring the soaps to $18 for 150ml (12c/g). Body Shop is $16 for 125ml which actually makes it MORE expensive than SH at 12.8c/ml. then factor in the "supporting a small local family business not a major corporation" and the equation is well and truly in SH's favour.

So I wondered by Kamis' had an Asymmetrical grind... only one side to your face of course!
This is not something you do everytime so they do give a good shave when using the "other side"?

@FatBoy58 I've used MACA Root Shave Cream in a tub before I gave it to my brother when he first started wet shaving 8 months ago before me, when I started my first wet shaving I went and bought my first MACA Root Shave Cream in a tub and it was fantastic soap straight from the body shop. It leaves the skin nice and soft and it lasts for ages as a little goes a long way as I was told from my brother, however I gave this soap to my brother when he couldn't get some free time for himself to order some more when he run out of the body shop.

Don't worried I've hidden all of @Anthony soaps away so my brother doesn't pinch all my soaps, his keeps asking me from time to time hey got any more shaving soap and I said yeah go in the backyard behind the garage and get yourself a dog manure while it wet and soft :D;)

Floïd Blue, Adieu

Floïd Blue, adieu, goodbye. One more bottle of this magnificent aftershave has gone - of course with my joy and pleasure - and I need a new one. I fortunately still have some bottles in my shave den, so I am not out of it yet. It is however so bad Colomer discontinued Floïd Blue and it seems they are not changing their mind. This is what some retailers told me so far, they all told me Floïd Blue is out of production. As for the shave, a genuine pleasure thanks to the smoothness of Mastro Livi Grifetto and Cella shaving cream, including the Omega 48 brush, one of the very best bristle brushes around.
  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: Cella Shaving Cream
  • Brush: Omega Bristle Brush 48
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Travel Loom Strop and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi Grifetto Mother of Pearl, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Umbria Extravirgin Oil
  • After Shave: Floïd Blue
Just in case you wanna replace it the Floid Blue that is it's cheaper than some http://www.tvbshaving.com/floid-blue-aftershave-400ml.html

Pre: Occam's Lime
Soap: Shaver Heaven - Dragon Noir
Brush: Duke 2 - Best
Blade: Tanifuji
Post: Dickensons WH & Shaver Heaven Balm - Dragon Noir
Scent: Brut 33

As I am a tight wad, my SH soaps this far are from the SnD and as such are the previous formula. I had the impression the formula had changed, not been improved necessarily but after using Dragon Noir in the current formula I can tell the difference and I do prefer the new formula.

30mim today. 2 pass plus clean up to DFS. I took my time to focus on blade angle. Good result but still heaps more learning to do.

Loving the SH Balm and wondering when @Anthony is going to delve into AS?
