Two fantastic shaves in a row @Draco Noir - and some lovely pictures to prove it ;)

Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Second shave with the Bunny today - and boy this Bunny sure doesn't take any prisoners :) I am not sure, if I am even going to contemplate the other base plates. Wonderful close shave and the old Tallow recipe from @bald as is simply fantastic! Don't believe me? Her you go:

How long you load your chubby for and do you go straight to the face

Merkur 34C
Simpson Polo 8 Best
Catties Bubbles La Terre Verte
Vokshod

A nice relaxing shave. For the life of me though I cannot get any soap to perform as slick as my GFT Sandalwood. I may just need to spend a day really practising with all my soaps to find that sweet spot.

I lather a lot - and I mean A LOT. Always add a bit of water while loading - to create tons of prot-lather...and then add a lot more while face lathering...

Hello guys and thank you all for your kind thoughts. I was pleased to see @alfredus and @khun_diddy while I was in hospital. Excellent chance to discuss all things shaving.
My heart attack was very serious - aren't they all- and if I hadn't got to hospital quickly the outcome would have been a lot different.

Had a SOTD in hospital with my Gem Featherweight. Great shave "what I remember of it.". 3 days growth. Chinese synthetic brush and Gogrej cream. The featherweight is very mild but extremely efficient.

Because of the inserting of another stent I'm on a more potent blood thinner and now need to really take care with my technique:ROFLMAO: I thought about getting my wife to bring a straight into the hospital but explaining it to a swat team might have been a bit much. :)

Excellent to see you back posting here mate :D
Speedy recovery, well as much as possible.

Tonight's shave selection was inspired by @bald as , from whom I have learnt so much in quite a short space of time. Continue to get well mate.
The soap is one of Steve's earlier batches. No idea of its composition but its performance would be hard to beat, especially with one of his often spruiked huuuuuge Turkish Boars.
The razor definitely had to be a single edge or injector of some description, as my efforts with a straight would not do him justice.
All combined for a fantastic and fun shave. Finished with a splash of original Old Spice

39c with Wilkinson Sword
Muhle Silvertip Fiber
Shaver Heaven Forbidden Forest
Barrister's Reserve Classic

Thanks to @filobiblic for the aftershave sample. The scent is so familiar... I'm sure one of grandfather aftershaves smells identical to this.
Really really nice stuff! Definitely buying this when it comes out.

That's interesting. My Chubby is really opening up now. I find it holds so much water that I barely have to add any when face lathering. I give it a good squeeze after soaking.

Soap: I Coloniali
Brush: Semogue 1305
Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Polsilver SI (2)
Post-shave: STM balm sample

Lovely soap that. However, it's pretty thirsty. I definitely under hydrated it. The lather was drying out a bit, and the razor had trouble gliding at times. But there was SO much slickness after each pass when I rinsed my face. So clearly user error here. Lovely scent too - can't quite place what it is, but it's lovely.

Enjoying getting back to "basics" with the 34C. It had been many moons since I'd used it. It really is a great razor, and not just for beginners. My only gripe is that I much prefer a razor to have a bar through the middle rather than two posts to hold the blade. I find razors with a bar have no alignment issues, however those with posts sometimes need correcting.

Forgot to look at the clock, so no time.

Preshave: Proraso Green
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89 with Windrose Handle
Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel
Brush: Semogue 1305
Soap: Shaver Heaven Neroli
Post Shave: Nivea Balm and Alt Innsbruck Cologne.
Two pass shave with a touch up under the chin. Excellent soap with a pleasant scent that is very calming. Face is soft and smooth with no irritation. Busy work day ahead but we are ready.

I love the size contrast with the brush and razor. Interesting to note the razor is not a small razor either. That brush covers almost all of the face in one hit. I got mine as a bit of a novelty joke but was actually surprised it wasn't too bad to use. I think from memory delivered from Turkey the brush was about $20. Also great to see the Streamline getting a run.

Razor: Gillette British Aristocrat #16
Blade: Wilkinson Sword 'Light Brigade' (4)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Marlborough
Aftershave: Myrsol Formula K

Shots of the lather here if you are interested - Lather Shots

The Light Brigade just seems to be getting better and better. The Formula K is always a great finish - sometimes shaving is great fun!

Soap: Razorock XXX
Brush: Epsilon Horsehair 'Chubby'
Razor: EJ89
Blade: Polsilver SI (3)
Post-shave: Speick

A soap I haven't used in a while. The XXX lathered up superbly and quickly, I'd forgotten how much I liked it.
I pulled out the EJ89 for the first time in months. It took 4 passes above the neck to get a DFS, but it was super smooth. I can't believe this was the same razor that gave me nicks and burns when I started out. It seems almost impossible to cut myself with this razor. I might try and add a different handle though, to see if it improves the efficiency. Any suggestions?

Great shot @boldsworth !!!

Absolutely right - the Chubby holds tons of water/lather - but I always like to start with a very dry brush and slowly add the water. Maybe one day I master the brush and can judge how much is in there, but for now if I don't wring it dry, I have a bubbly mess and it takes much more effort to get it right...
