Brush: Simpson Classic 1
Razor: EJ89
Blade: Timor
Cream: Ingrams
A/S: Bluebeards Revenge Splash

Brush: Omega Synthetic Hi-Brush
Soap: Proraso Green
Razor: Rockwell 6s - R4
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (5)
Lotion: Omega Alum Stick / Mennen Skin Bracer

The combination of the Rockwell 6s and the Silver Blue resulted in DFS's through day 5, but it is now time to move on to a new blade and probably either the Slim or the Progress. Compared to the reliable Slim, the Progress (which has no pre-sets) is a bit of a finicky beast so far as finding a proper angle goes on its various settings.

Brush: Vie-Long, Horse
Soap: Squadron, Spitfire
Razor: Gem, MM, Bullseye
Blade: Gem, SS
Post: Thayers, Old Spice, Nivea

I enjoy getting up early on the weekend and having a coffee and then a leisurely shave. However, these SE's are so efficient that, following yesterday's shave with the OC, one pass and a couple of touch ups and Bullseye, a BBS. I really would have liked to spend a little more time on a Sunday.

Razor: Vintage British Aristocrat #15
Blade: Vintage Australian Gillette Super Stainless [aka "Aussie Spoiler"] (6)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson '46' reknotted in 'pure'
Soap/Cream: Squadron Soap 'Spitfire'
Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve Lavende violette

Oh man, I got distracted thinking about something else while I was lathering and suddenly realised I'd been loading, adding in some water, loading, adding in some water etc for probably a good minute or so. Wow, some @alfredus - esque lather was formed. Thick, rich, wet, dripping - just showing me what this brush, probably my largest and firmest in regular use, and the Squadron Soap from @SchoolForAnts are capable of.

Incredible lather, wish I'd had my phone handy to snap a pic.

Finished off wonderfully by the APR from @todras

Blade: Feather Pro Super (1)
Brush: Simpsons M7 Manchurian Faux Butterscotch
Lather: Barrister & Mann Lavanille
Post-shave: Barrister & Mann Lavanille
Scent: Acqua di Sydney

The Lavanille scent, like Leviathan, is slowly growing on me. Leviathan became one of my favourites and this may also. Acqua di Sydney was instantly a favourite, a great scent.

Will at B&M did a fantastic job with Lavanille, your acquisition of it was a great move as it sells out at TSW usually very quickly and re-stocks take months.

From Thursday:

Brush: P&C Platypus
Soap/Cream: Mike's Coconut Sample
Razor: Gillette Open Comb
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Post-shave: Alum, Emu Oil, Pinaud Clubman

From last night:
Pre: Proraso Green Pre/Post
Brush: Omega Boar
Soap/Cream: Shaver Heaven Peppermint Plus
Razor: Rockwell 6S (4,4,2)
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Post-shave: Alum, Emu Oil, Myrsol Formula "C", TSW After Balm

Brush: TF 26mm Black Synth in Ice Fusion
Razor: Muhle R41 2013 (from travel box)
Blade: Rapira Chrome (2)
Soap: B&M Cologne Russe
A/S: Myrsol Antesol

What a fantastic shave! Was a little tentative of the R41 based on reviews, but found them to be massively exaggerated. No nicks, weepers or irritation. Also, if you're thinking about a black synth knot, you really need to try one of Tony's. They are very, very good.

Mastro Livi Stainless Damascus, 8/8 Full Hollow, Spanish Point

This straight razor is just one more proof of Mastro Livi's superior skill in forging stainless steel. This straight razor is in fact made by a totally artisan made stainless damascus steel and, moreover, it is completely made from martensitic stainless steels. This means this stainless steel damascus is perfectly suitable for hardening and making cutting edges. It was made two years ago by Mastro Livi in his workshop and I witnessed its making, just like all the straight razors he made for me. Today Mastro Livi calls his artisan made stainless damascus steel as "ArtInox" and this razor was one of the very first ones he made by making this type of stainless damascus steel. As a matter of fact, Mastro Livi experiments with new steels all the time, including modern steels, and he has always been committed in researching and experimenting new steels and forging techniques. This straight razor is just one of the countless results he has been capable of achieving in the course of his sixty-two years committed to straight razors making and steel processing. Shaving with this straight razor was absolutely impeccable and super comfortable. Of course.
  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: Williams Shaving Cream
  • Brush: Mastro Livi Perugia Synthetic Eco-Silvertip, Bois De Rose, 26mm Knot
  • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi "Rasoio Italiano" Stainless Damascus, 8/8 Full Hollow, Spanish Point, Black African Ebony
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
  • After Shave: Mennen Blue

Brush: Omega Synthetic Hi-Brush
Soap: Proraso Green
Razor: Merkur Progress (+1)
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless Green (1)
Lotion: Omega Alum Stick / Mennen Skin Bracer

Today's goal was a DFS from a mild razor paired with a sharp blade. However, I'm wary of the Progress. At its lowest setting of +1, it has been my experience that it is mild but not quite tame, possibly the result of my infrequent use and thus lack of familiarity with it. Nevertheless, it went well, without nicks or scrapes for what was a reasonably close shave at the razor's lowest setting.

The APR to finish is wonderful as usual, thanks @todras.

I really am finding some of my formerly much loved stuff is getting less and less use ...
