This is my replacement, as the first one was unfortunately shedding...

The knot is fantastic - especially at this price point I think it is STELLAR! But I want to use it for a week or so, to see, if there are any shedding issues - then I will write a review

@alfredus I'm looking forward to see your review very soon ;)

After: Alum,TSW After Balm

Rummaging through the Try-a-blade samples and pulled out the Permasharp the other day.
I've lost track of the shaves but I think it's #4.

Had a magnificent shave with it this morning, DFS+ and effortlessly mowed down the 2-day growth.
Very much on par with the GSB and Polsilver SI for comfort and smoothness, very nice blade.

Pre:
Valobra Glicerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus
Soap: MWF
Razor: ATT H2 Open Comb
Blade: Vintage Wilkinson Sword Super Sword (1)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
Splash: APR Bois de santal verveine
EDP: L'artisan Fou d'absinthe

After two sensational shaves with the ATT H2 using a Polsilver blade, I changed things up with a NOS Wilkie Super Sword. The H2 is in the same aggression range as the Muhle R41 - some say more so. Well, loading up a Super Sword blade turned this set-up into a serious weapon. So, so sharp! I used a very light touch, and the shave was quite comfortable, and unbelievably efficient. One pass yielded a socially acceptable shave +, two passes a DFS+, and 3 passes BBS.

No weepers or nicks, but my skin certainly knew it had been scraped with a very sharp edge, and the Myrsol Emulsion was welcome.
A fascinating shave. If I was pushed for time, I'd happily do a single pass with shave and be confident is a work or social situation. However, I feel that its strength would be effortlessly mowing down a week's growth to a DFS is two quick passes.

Brush: Simpsons Persian Jar 2
Soap: APR, SAA
Razor: Gem, Damaskeene
Blade: Gem SS
Post: APR, SAA splash & balm

First of all my first use of the new brush, with many thanks to @todras for a great deal!
This is a big step up for me, my first badger. Really appreciate how dense the knot is, how soft the tips are and the great backbone. I made some great lather and I was going to take a lather shot but things got a little bit out of control, there was lather all over the place and way too slippery for a photo!
The Damaskeene 1912 first use was also good. A great efficient shave. Although it is almost identical to the 1912s that followed it has a slight curve to the head and may be a little smoother.
All in all another great Saturday shave.

WARNING: If you are using PayPal don't ever write 'Persian' in the notes! It will result in an investigation, my payment was also cancelled. All good now but a pain in the ****.

Thoughts:
- My very first Fine products in the den courtesy of @todras. I thought I'd try the Fine soap today because I'm rapidly realising that the General is picky with soap. If your soap doesn't have enough cushion and glide then it bites a little. Shaver Heaven, APR etc give outstanding shaves with the General. PAA, Reef Point and Razorock less so! My mind has been opened to how I might tackle my GEM Micromatic via soap too. And so what do I think of Fine? It dries out on my skin and is only good for one pass before it begins to crack at the edges on my face(?!). You can add water to the bowl but then you are working too hard for a soap. So this lightly scented, lightly gliding soap goes to my only-use-with-DE pile and I'll give it a shot then. Slickness is fine. I actually only purchased this to get the Fine Fresh Vetiver AS and will try that soon.
- APR Alfredus Choice is the sweetest (least dark / most feminine to my mind) of my APR scents. Don't know how much I like it yet but I remember not initally liking General Ledger and it's now my second fav APR scent after Mycroft. Lovely post-feel as always and I'm looking forward to trying it out on people today to get feedback.
- This is the equal longest I've tried the Feather Pro blades and I decided to retire it at the end of the shave. Maybe I was premature because some of the less than stellar performance must have been the soap. The next blade I am going to shave exclusively with APR and Shaver Heaven soaps to see if I can get to 8 (which is where I want it to make it as economical as DE).

@Greenpike & @Snooze great SOTD guys especially for the insight into your technique, soaps and blades.
Always great to hear the postives, negatives, frustrations and work arounds.
This makes me feel human as most of my shaves aren't perfect either. Been frustrated lately and these insights make me think and query my process. Thanks again.

No pic today.

Used this progress a couple of times now. After hearing this is aggressive I banged a feather in and set about myself with it on setting 4. I wouldn't call it aggressive, just efficient. 2 passes and done, not a hint of any irritation *shrugs shoulders*
