Razor: Vintage Schick Injector
Blade: Generic Injector Blade (3)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch SImpson 'H2' boar
Soap/Cream: Barrister & Mann Cologne Russe shaving soap
Aftershave Splash: Barrister & Mann Cologne Russe splash
Aftershave Balm: N/A
Cologne: N/A

Man, this is SOOOOO easy with the injector ...
I'm a bit envious, I'm very keen on an injector but I. Ant bring myself to buy another blade type lol :)

Decided to do something different today;
Razor: Schick Krona
Blade: Derby (1)
Brush: whipped dog synthetic
Soap: Monsavon
Post: NATO facial moisturiser

Brilliant shave, super easy and very comfortable.
Really I think the krona could do with a sharper blade but the derby worked fine.

Preshave: Coconut Oil
Soap: Primal Earth Shave Gel
Brush: Vulfix travel (this brush sheds every shave, apart from that I like it)
Razor: R41 Twist
Blade: 7 O'Clock
Post: Jojoba Oil

Combo I haven't used before. Forgot I had the shave gel in my travel kit. It was a supermarket purchase, plant based gel that actually lathers. The lather doesn't hold but the gel provides enough slickness to shave with anyway.
Shaved well, though I felt I was cheering the 7 O'clock across the line. Can't remember but I think that was shave 3 or 4 for that blade but it won't be making it home.
This is about as close as I'm likely to get anytime soon to you Adelaide guys, working near Broken Hill for a couple of days.

Always been a bit meh about the TTFC soap. Found it to be good without being great. Changed approach this morning, under loaded and over watered and got a great lather. Last pass was a little too far (water from rinse must have pushed it over the edge). That and the blade is on it's last shave at 6 or 7 (Permasharp). Ready for hump day.

So we need to set you up with a loaner to try! :)

I always keep an eye on them but just havnt pulled the trigger on one, if there is a chance to try one i would love to give it a go.

Shower
Fatip Grande Nickel with Lord Racer blade (3)
Cella
Omega 48
Re-lather, warm rinse, Bulldog ASB

Another 3 pass BBS. Surprised at this blade's longevity - showing no signs of fatigue yet. I must say I love the combination of Cella and the 48. Loaded more product and more water with fantastic results... I can see a brick in my future!

Shower
Feather AC DX with Pro Super blade (25)
Derby Lavender Cream
Omega 48
Re-lather + Bulldog ASB

- I could have gone another 3 pass shave after my 3 pass shave! 3 pass DFS - we have lost some efficiency - kind of equivalent to a mild DE now after some palm stropping. Still no irritation or damage though. That's probably enough on this blade - I love efficiency too much!
Have you used the Feather pro and what difference do you notice between the pro and super pro?

Black Ship Shave Two

Razor: Colonial General with Windrose handle
Blade: Feather Pro (2)
Soap: Beaver Woodright James Moody (first use)
Brush: TF Amber and Ash Synthetic
Post: Alum + BW James Moody AS + Aramis EdT

Thoughts...
- This is my second Black Ship / Beaver Woodright soap and both are VERY lightly scented. You're looking at a 1 in the tub and on the face; not my end of the pool at all. Good luck recognising any notes other than "sweet". Today's soap had the same easy lather and great cushion and glide but I wouldn't say the slickness is quite top quality. I'd call it adequate if you have oily skin like me but this might leave you a little parched if you have dry skin. I'm guessing here obviously but because it doesn't leave me with a need to use alum (like many, many soaps do) I'd imagine it is not as moisturising as most.
- I did end up using alum because I chopped the top off a tiny pimple and thought why not.
- The AS is a light scent but you do pick up the notes once it dries a little. You shouldn't judge this one too early - face feel improves over the first 15 minutes too. It's a lemony chypre that pairs well with my famed ONE SPRAY ONLY of Aramis. Subtle and sweet.
- Overall - I'm disappointed with the soaps. But this is my use only - if you have very sensitive skin or hate power scented soap... AND you have oily skin... this might be something you're interested in. From what I've read I think most the P&C members are less absorbed by scent than I am. I'd be interested to know how our dry skinned friends go with this soap.

Yes - I posted up a review of the Feather AC DX somewhere here this year and had some comments on the blades in that review.

In brief, I suspect the only real difference between the Pros and the Super Pros is the blade exposure (although the Super blade may also be a bit thicker?). For me, in the DX, the greater blade exposure allows me to use the blade flatter against the skin and it's this lower angle, that reduces the damage, particularly ATG for those first few shaves (where the blade is extremely sharp so significant concentration is required). Even after that though, I have always received smoother and closer shaves with less damage from the Super Pro blades. Others have also said the Super Pro blades are more like the real straight razor experience, although I have no way of testing that...

Razor: Vintage Schick Injector
Blade: Generic Injector Blade (4)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Culmak reknotted with TGN Finest
Soap/Cream: Barrister & Mann Cologne Russe shaving soap
Aftershave Splash: Barrister & Mann Cologne Russe splash
Aftershave Balm: N/A
Cologne: N/A

Got up and dragged a bit of plastic and metal with a blade inside around my face, all done again.

Enjoying the B&M.

Razor: R41 twist
Brush: high mountain badger
Soap: Ad Astra
Blade: Feather (1)
Aftershave: Swagger

Okay wow, I'm loving everything in this combination, the R41 isn't the beast it's made out to be, sure it's BIG and efficient but not that scary. The feather is sharp and fantastic as always, the intoxicating scent of Ad Astra is something to behold, I cannot wait until the splash is released!
Such a great shave, today I get to walk into the office of my old boss who is a nice enough guy but a total D bag when it comes to staff and treating them decently to pick up some tax paper work, I know he's having a rough go of it currently so although he was a jerk to me it's good not to burn bridges.

Razor: Gillette Fat Boy (3)
Blade(s): Polsilver (3)
Brush: Simpsons Super Chubby 2
Soap/Cream: TOBS Sandalwaood
Post: Dickinsons With Hazel

First time with the Fat Boy so went with a 3. Popped in a new Polsilver and went for it and was very happy with the results. TOBS was great albeit a little thin now that I have tried other soaps. Liking the Dickinsons a lot more than Thayers. All in all a nice shave for a first tiem with a "new" razor.

How do you guys keep track of how many shaves on a blade? I don't have that many razors but as I rotate through I have trouble remembering whats actually in it let alone how many shaves its done!?
