Another Very P&C Shave
20170122_124021.jpg

Razor: Gillette Slim (8)
Blade: Shark SS (3)
Brush: Wolfpac Finest Badger
Pre-Shave: Simpsons Pre-Shave Oil (first time use)
Soap: Simpsons Luxury Shaving Cream (first time use)
Aftershave: APR Coconut Sandalwood (first time use)
Cologne: Crabtree & Evelyn Indian Sandalwood
Bowl: TSN 2012 LE Bowl

Thoughts:
- I was a little bit ambitious going straight to the 8 setting today so had a few weepers but I was impressed that my skin refused to surrender to burn despite some over-shaving to get BBS. I got BBS everywhere. I feel like a friggin dolphin, baby.
- The Simpsons products are unscented and are purely functional. Indeed, in the case of the pre-shave, not even appealing. In terms of function, though - WOW. This incredibly soft cream creates a voluminous and slick lather that I know made my mission for full face BBS a plausibility. I don't know if I'd buy these unscented products as I'm addicted to stink (insert Robert Palmer parody video) but I'm so grateful that @ben74 kindly PIFed them with my bowl purchases. Top quality stuff.
- With the lack of scent in the shave, I had the full gamut of my after shave products and I thought I'd try another of the samples that @todras gifted me. Coconut Sandalwood was the winner. Personally I'm not a fan of coconut as either a scent or flavour but this was a gentle aftershave with far less of an olfactory punch than Suitably Attired Australian or General's Ledger which pleased me. Great burn but it's almost sweet and I think would suit a younger man better so my son is getting the rest. Indeed, it was so gentle that I used a little of my C&E Sandlewood for the chestical area just to give myself a lift. I'm still incredible happy that SAA is the one I chose to purchase... maybe until my Pork Chop arrives!
- I'm liking the Wolfpac Finest Badger brush much more now that it is broken in and I have the larger bowl. That's made the difference. I thought it only fair that I use this exclusively until my K Shave Worx gamechanger arrives as I imagine I'll be trying out synthetics in a big way for a while.

Pre: Proraso Green Pre/Post
Brush: Omega Boar
Soap/Cream: Shaver Heaven Arctic Mango
Razor: Rockwell 6S (4,2,2)
Blade: GSB (6)
Post-shave: Alum, Emu Oil, Myrsol Formula "C"

Love the Shaver Heaven... Lather's up so easily, provides plenty of protection and cushion. Just a pleasure to use.

Hopefully I've begun the conversion process for my brother this afternoon. Lent him my EJDE89, a couple of packs of Voskhod blades and a tub of B&M Rhapsody.
With any luck, we'll be ordering in bulk between us and hopefully saving a few bucks on postage! :sneaky:
He's already shaved and told me it wasn't a complete disaster o_O, so I think that's somewhat promising!

Great shave tonight. I got a sad 1860 "IXL" smiling blade frameback the other day in the mail from America and thought I'd done my money, but this morning I removed the broken rotting horn scales and replaced them with nice buffed replacement set from my spares. While I had the scales off I ran the blade over my buffing wheel then used some metal polish and while the blade is not showroom mint condition it is now very acceptable. Honing was straight forward as the metal in the blade is obviously first class. Full 1K bevel set, Arkansas soft and hard through to finishing on my Jnat

This was my first shave with a smiling frameback in first shave with a true smiling razor. Initially I didn't like it but very quickly adapted and the shave was great.

2 passes DFS+
Semogue 2000 Boar - sensational brush
Lemon myrtle Soap

Merkur 1904 open comb DE
Lord Racer Blade (1)
Derby Lavender Cream
Omega 80266

Well it had to happen - my first shave with a DE! I had to see what all the fuss was about - see why so many would stick with this method of shaving. Thought I would start with a mild blade in a mild razor. The result was.... a bit too mild! It took 4 passes to achieve a DFS - one WTG + 3 ATG. A bit more work than I like but I must say I never even came close to a cut or a weeper - I could have probably done 20 passes in complete safety. With the Feather Artist Club the lather comes completely off along with the stubble in one pass - here there was lather (and stubble) left behind each time. At exactly the right angle it cut OK but I don't have this level of patience - although when I'm off my best and just want a no fuss CCS with no risk of damage, I know which razor I can reach for.

First time with the Derby cream too - also part of the job lot from @Cris. Used a couple of almonds' worth and had enough lather for my 4 passes in the boar brush. Can't complain about it - it was a perfectly acceptable thick / yoghurt lather with reasonable slickness although it didn't excel at any one thing. Scent was artificial in the tube but got better on the face. Will use again.

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Semogue 1800 Boar
Soap: PAA Amber
Razor: ATT Kronos open comb M2
Blade: Vintage Personna 74 (7)
Post: Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Splash: PAA Amber

Three passes for DFS+.
Lovely lather from the PAA soap; if I'm being picky the residual slickness could be better.
The Amber scent of both the soap and slash is pure and very pleasant. I favour the PAA slashes, as they are kinder to my skin than some other alcohol splashes.

Mastro Livi Club 2016

Mastro Livi Club Razor 2016 is simply a breathtaking masterpiece. This special and limited edition was exclusively created for the members of Mastro Livi Club on Google+ and was the result of many polls in which members voted how they wished our club razor should have been. This is the result and I am absolutely mesmerized by its beauty, not to mention by its shaving performance. After all I knew Mastro Livi CarboInox was a superb shaver so I was sure about the result. I also used one of my favorite shaving soaps - Panama 1924 Shaving Soap - which was gorgeously mounted to a super rich lather by this Mastro Livi Badger Brush with the finishing touch of Suavecito Bay Rum. I love genuine Bay Rum scent!

Cris Maden
"Another Cut Above"
@Cris I'm allergic to Menthol

WOW so many there that I have been looking at for a while! Must be hard to make a decision in the morning @SpeedyPC

@nsavage is not very hard to make a decision on 20 Stirling soaps along with 7 other soaps in total if you setup a soap rotation, please I don't want to talk about spreadsheets ;) gives me a headache
