Shave of the Day Thread - 2017

I wanted a shave today but the rough and close shave of yesterday makes it a tad pointless today.
I'm going to be failing miserably at SEptember as well...

Razor: GEM 'E' bar
Blade: GEM (2)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson 'The Duke'
Soap/Cream: Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigars shaving soap
Aftershave Splash: Henri et Victoria Cognac and Cuban Cigars splash
Cologne: N/A

The 'E' bar, and its American cousin the 'G' bar, really are stylish razors. One of my favourites to look at. Great shave too!

Shameless re-use of photo from yesterday follows -

Maximum blade feel!
I've been on the SE blade learning curve too with "The General". For me the Feather Pro's are good, but Schick P-30 blades are a little smoother.
I did go looking for the Schick blades but couldn't find a single pack of them on eBay so went with the Captain TItans and also ordered some Feather Pros.

Yeah, I think my wife was amused at the blood letting, but she quickly caught on that it meant I'd have to buy more blades to try, and of course I explained to her that I'd save so much money by buying in bulk.

As we do! What a wonderful standby that line is! Trouble for me is trying to find places to hide all those bulk purchases! If SWMBO ever gets loose in my workshop I've had it!

Soap: Pb Puck No: 1
Brush: Zenith Boar
Razor: Black Hawk
Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post: Jojoba
Yay, an ordinary shave without skin and blood loss.
When I get the Captain Titans and Feather Pro blades for the Asylum Rx I'll be interested in trying them in the General and Black Hawk. If I'm not finding the Pro Super too aggressive in those razors then I'm expecting the Titans to be too mild.

Razor: Colonial General with Windrose handle
Blade: Feather Pro (3)
Soap: Squadron Soap's The Warden
Brush: AP Shave Co 30mm Tuxedo (first use)
Post: Squadron Soap's The Warden AS (first use) + Aramis Havana EdT

Thoughts...
- @SchoolForAnts has invented a wonderful scent. The soap performance in this scent is better than the others in my experience (could just be my tin) . Aftershave is great and brings out additional sweeter notes and it is just lovely.
- The brush was quick to lather and did a fine job in holding but not hogging the soap. I like the extra backbone from the density and yet it's even smoother than my TF plissoft clone. Wow. The handle is nothing to write home about but it never claimed to be - almost free really. I think it's time to buy another knot of this and send it off to Tony...

REVAMPED GEM JUNIOR
PAL BLUE SE
OMEGA 10077 22MM BOAR
APR LIXIVIANT
APR LIXIVIANT SPLASH
APR LIXIVIANT EDP

This was an awesome shave. The performance of the APR products was exceptional, the little Omega was a joy to use and the Junior gives such a smooth mild close shave.
Happy days!!

Pre-Shave: @khun_diddy Olive Oil Soap, cold water
Razor: Guerrilla
Blade: Ladas (2)
Brush: Paladin Lotus
Lather: Mike's Bay Rum
Post-Shave: Alum, Stirling Bay Laurel Witch Hazel, Australian Emu Oil

Last shave in the den for 3 weeks - spectacular Mike's lather and a wonderful shave.

I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday (y)

I couldn't get away with another day without a shave at work and early gym sessions mean I had to shave tonight
Razor: vintage merkur slant
Blade: astra ss (2)
Soap: scramble
Brush: commodore
Post: TSW balm
Dram: Suntory premium.
Such a fantastic shave.. guys, I'm at a point where the gear is all good these days, it's only when I do a bad job are their issues.

You don't drink and shave?

Omega Boar
Proraso Red
Merkur 15C
Shark SC (2)
Myrsol formula C
TSW After Balm

Tried the shark blade in my Gillette red tip the other day and it didn't work well. Gave it another shot in the Merkur open comb and am still not a fan. Gave a close enough shave but not a comfortable shave. No irritation, just didn't feel smooth.

Razor: GEM 'E' bar
Blade: GEM (3)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson 'H2' boar
Soap/Cream: Phoenix & Beau Baskerville shaving soap
Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Lavande violette splash
Cologne: N/A

Great shave, great lather from the P&B as usual and the APR Lavande violette - the result of 'aftershave draw roulette' - is a nice finisher.

Happy hump day fellas!
