Brush: Simpsons PJ2
Soap: Mitchell's Woolfat
Razor: Gem Damaskeene
Blade: Gem SS
Post: Squadron Warden, Nivea

I didn't realise, until @Snooze pointed it out, that it's SEptember. Which means, according to regulations, that because the month begins with SE we are obliged to use a single edge razor for the month, great!
To celebrate this great month, this morning I used the 100 year old classic Damaskeene, a great razor! Preceded by the lovely Woolfat and followed by the great scent of Squadron's Warden.

Have a great SEptember, I hope you will be conforming to the regulations! (see instructions below)

Hmmm, does my Darwin count as it shaves like an SE?

In the meantime -

Razor: Gillette Sensor Excel
Blade: OEM Sensor Excel Cartridge (3)
Brush: EJ Travel Synthetic
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Arlington Shave Stick
Aftershave Splash: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Sample
Cologne: N/A

Well it is a SE cart - but a crap shave. The APR almost made up for it - but not quite

I think using a cartridge is the punishment for non-compliance!

But I DID comply. The cart only has a single edge - twice ....

Razor: 5/8 Dovo Prima Klang
Soap: Ad Astra
Razor: high mountain badger
Frag: old spice wolfthorn

My first SE shave for SEptember.
Nice shave to start a busy day, man I need to spend more time with this straight, it really is beautiful.
today has a cloud over it being the first fathers day since we lost my Dad earlier this year but keeping busy helps so today we focus on family, visit with my mum, help my Gran remove a security system from her house prior to her knee surgery tomorrow and start on rebuilding the left side of my friends Hyundai, I think I'll pop by Dan Murphys later and pick up a bottle of Japanese whiskey.
All the best fellas, keep it real.

Pre: Warm Coconut Oil
Soap: The Warden
Brush: Zenith Boar
Razor: Asylum Rx
Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post: Jojoba

Introducing the Asylum Rx.
I had dreamt of this day, imagining this would be a tale of courage and conquest, but alas it is one of massacre and retreat.
Reviews for this razor had said it is aggressive which suited me fine but this shave gave me a face full of weepers. Initially I thought using the Asylum was very intuitive but now I think I will need to pay close attention to the angle to see if that is the problem. I am also wondering if a less aggressive blade will solve the problem. I had assumed that successful use of the Pro Super in the General and Black Hawk would automatically transfer to the Asylum.
Otherwise I'm very pleased with the Asylum. I think it looks great, it feels good in the hand, and it feels more dexterous in the hand than the General or the Hawk. The build, tolerances, assembly and blade loading are all very good, I just need to learn to drive it.

Wow, what a shave. Been a terrible skin week this week for some reason and to top it off, gave myself a decent nick on Friday. Took the day off yesterday and came back with a lunchtime shave today. Being Spring, though I would kick it off with a nice fresh fragrance. Just unreal shave. Even on #2, I can get a really near BBS shave with the Rockwell, zero worry.

Happy Father's day...

Pre-Shave: @khun_diddy Olive Oil Soap, cold water
Razor: Guerrilla
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Hucklaration
Lather: Mystic Water Bergamot, Cedarwood & Juniper
Post-Shave: Alum, Stirling Bay Laurel Witch Hazel, Australian Emu Oil

Real first world problems today: as it was the last Sunday shave in my own den for this month, I really wanted to savour every aspect - so what gear to use?

Brush and soap choice was easy: the Hucklaration is the largest knot in my den and I really enjoy it, especially when I have the time to fully load it. And Mystic Water is also a no brainer on a Sunday - it always gives spectacular results, when you take your time building the lather. And it didn't fail to impress today either - wonderful lather.

The Guerrilla is just such a versatile razor - smooth and agile yet so efficient when used correctly - another genius design by James.

I hope you all have a very enjoyable Sunday (y)

It shaves brilliantly but I don't like the handle whatsoever, way, way to slippery for me - the smooth steel affords next to no purchase. I can't wait to get the Guerilla baseplate and cap onto my UFO, then I will be set :)

A great razor though, mild, but it gives a great shave with very little effort and I think would be ideal for novice shavers if it were not for the handle slipperyness.

Interestingly I have not had the same issue with the handle.

I'm almost ready to provide some thoughts on the OC version vs the SB version as well.

I really, really avoid them too (B&M Bay Rum being the exception) so my calling it 'Bay City' or even having Bay in the name probably worked against me in regards to the Australian audience when it was a play on Sydney being a harbour city. I don't blame people really, the number of Bay Rums I have smelled which are just outright bloody drastic with excessive cloves and bay oil are to many to count.

On the other side of the coin though, the Americans absolutely love the Bay City, it has far outsold all the other fragrances as they go into August which will be interesting as it's almost a spring fragrance, while there is Bay present, it's in accord with the other basenotes and the fragrance is light, sweet and fruity.
I would totally endorse the comments of @todras - Bay City is its own thing, and that thing is wonderful!

@Sxot this is really some great performing soap mate. @todras the scent absolutely changes to my nose when lathered as well. It brightens up quite a lot, and the florals come out more for me. I love it both off the dry puck and even more when lathered.
Good point, @Korbz . I keep forgetting to give kudos to @Sxot for the soap formulation - a superb performer.
