Thats what i was thinking. Really like that shimmering swirl thing its got going on. :)

He turns some handles with a very high level of skill in thoroughly progressive colours to order. Hit him up if you want a high quality brush, the sky is the limit with Tony.

Shower
Fatip Grande with Lord Racer blade (10ish)
Cella
Omega 48
Re-lather and warm rinse

Another 3 pass BBS. Needed to load more soap but was in a hurry and it's a small container... still a great soap.

In terms of some recent discussion about efficiency vs mildness, I'm finding the following:
- In an efficient razor (like the Fatip), new blades give me weepers / irritation for the first 1-2 shaves (1-3 for Feather AC blades in my DX). Unless I take a lot of care and use a lot of attention - which can be difficult first thing in the morning!
- After that though, they smooth out for the next 10 (DE) or so shaves very nicely - ATG BBS no problem if the angle of attack is kept low (15 shaves with AC blades). My Feather AC DX for example gives me great shaves 12 out of 15 times on a blade as a result.
- In a mild razor (like the Rockwell on R2/3), new blades work well for the first couple of shaves but stop cutting very soon after that, causing greater irritation from either pressure or multiple passes. Or a reduction in the quality of the shave...
- So, my new plan is to start a blade off in a mild razor and then move it to an efficient razor, either slowly or in one go. In my Rockwell that may mean starting with plate 2 and finishing on plate 6, with a change every shave. Will see how that goes... or maybe move it to the Fatip after 3 shaves instead. The only problem with my Artist Club is that it doesn't have a mild option for those first few shaves - just have to be careful instead!

Pre-Shave: @khun_diddy Olive Oil Soap, cold water
Razor: RazoRock Baby Smooth Al
Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra (1)
Brush: Mühle XL Synthetic
Lather: Stirling Bay Rum
Post-shave: Alum, Stirling Coniferous Witch Hazel, Australian Emu Oil

First shave on the road here in Paris - first I thought I should try out the local soap Monsavon and for 1.45EUR I was really tempted, but there was just too much going on in the ingredients list...

Then I realised I had forgotten to bring any blades along! But then I saw the local supermarket carries the Gillette Bleue Extra, which some of you would prefer to my usual Voskhod/Ladas anyway. And 2.05 EUR for a packet of 10 is not too bad...

The shave itself was actually really nice - the superb Stirling lather definitely played an integral role in that.

Probably not going to shave in the next days, as I will be too busy lining up for my favourite band ;)

I hope you all have a terrific Thursday (y)

Brush: Vulfix 403 Mixed
Razor: Parker 87r
Blade: Shark (1)
Soap: Williams
A/S: Brut

Nice performance from the 403 Mixed, whipped up superb lather with the Williams. The Shark blade will not be getting a second use, it has an off centre slot resulting in one side being almost useless and the other side slightly more exposed than I'd like but still managed a decent shave.

It is equal to my own, MdC and B&M as a favourite, it embodies all that is exceptional about the family. To call it superb would not be doing it justice.

Date: 08 September 2017 is nearly 6am in West of London

Pre: - Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush: - RazoRock Plissoft Big Bruce Synth. 26/63mm knot
Lather: - Palmolive Classic Shave Stick (european version grated into a plastic tub)
Razor: - Parker Variant Adjustable in Satin Chrome (WTG #5, XTG #3, ATG #2)
Blade: - Rapira Platinum Lux #2
Post: - Thayers Witch Hazel 'Unscented' / Bulldog Original Aftershave Balm
Fragrance: - YSL L’Homme EDT

Pre: Musgo Real Lime Oil soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus

Soap: APR Lixiviant
Razor: ATT Kronos (R2)
Blade: Gillette Spoiler (1)
Post: Osma Balm
Splash: APR Lixiviant

A four day growth was dispatched with disdain by this combo. The Spoiler blade worked very nicely indeed with the mid-aggressive R2 open comb plate. The lather was excellent as always from APR. The Lixiviant scent, paradoxically both fresh and exotic, swirled around my bathroom and made me a happy man.

Brush: Vulfix 403 Pure Badger
Razor: Ming Shi Adjustable
Blade: Ming Shi
Soap: OSP Bay Rum
A/S: TOBS Bay Rum

A surprisingly top notch shave with the Ming Shi/Q Shave adjustable/Futur knock off. Even the blade was good.
@Nightguard - love the DR Harris porcelain bowl peeking through in the background.

Pre: Shower
Soap: Washpool Original
Brush: Zenith Boar
Razor: Asylum Rx
Blade: Feather Pro Super
Post: Jojoba Oil
I was somewhat reticent to step back in the ring with the Asylum Rx today with my face still a little raw from yesterday. I decreased the angle and things improved a lot from yesterday with very few weepers but still managed to take a couple of chunks out of myself. This is the only razor I have that has had me looking for an alum block ( I don't own one). The Asylum Rx makes my R41 look like a beginners razor.
I never do this much damage with my straights. The end result was a pretty good shave but was it worth the blood loss? I concede defeat again today. The razor can wait til I get some milder blades to try.
Is it strange that now I want to try an asylum rx

I've been sick lately, with no sens of smell, so time to shave qith a not great scent but a good performer, tobs avocado
