Is it strange that now I want to try an asylum rx
Yes.
I think I'd be waiting for the happy ending installment to my ' I started with the wrong blade' saga.
I've got Feather Pro and Captain Titan Mild blades on the way. I might give the Schick Prolines a go too.
Having said that, there doesn't seem to be a shortage of good reviews. Go for your life.:)

I've been a bit unshaven these past days but have to go out this evening to have a "social" encounter. It was suggested I might try a freshly honed blade :) Family are so subtle.

I have a love hate relationship with my Coticule. - in my hands it is useless with slurry and water but tonight I went back to machine oil and circular honing and the blade was fantastic. A definite case of "its me not you".

Pre shave hot towel - 3 lots of 30 seconds.
A liberal amount of Macadamia nut oil with lemon myrtle on the beard while the Semogue 620 gathered an overload of one of my home brew soaps.
Fantastic lather with no issues from the oil.
Great DFS single pass.

I should do this more often :)

A very Aventus shave with lots of pineapple clones. Nothing new today but a delightful way to end the week.

Razor: Colonial General with Windrose handle
Blade : Feather Pro (4)
Soap: Wickham Classic 24
Brush: AP Shave Co 30mm Tuxedo
Post: Floid Black AS + Razorock Emporer EdT

Shower
Fatip Grande with Lord Racer blade (11ish)
Tim's Greek Peach
P&C Platypus 26mm fan
Re-lather and warm rinse

Another 3 pass BBS with no damage. This soap does benefit from the Adelaide method of loading to prevent the bubbles. Now I'm looking at a doughnut...!
I think the Lather Shots thread is calling you @RazorPlay ! ;)

Brush: Semogue 620
Soap: Squadron, Spitfire
Razor: Ever Ready, 1924
Blade: Gem SS
Post: Squadron, Scramble

Fantastic shave, I just love the Squadron, Scramble/Spitfire!
Continuing SEptember with the Ever Ready 1924. Great audio feedback, sings louder and with a higher note than the 1912 & 1914 and gives a fantastic BBS while it sings.
Great face lather with the broken in 620
Sorry about the label on the Scramble @SchoolForAnts, I've been double dipping!

Have a great weekend

PAA PRE-SHAVE SOAP
REVAMPED 1947-51 GILLETTE BALL END TECH
BOLZANO (NEW)
24MM SILVERTIP
L&L GROOMING TRISMEGISTUS
PAA SCENTSLESS BALM
CHANEL EGOISTE EDT
I'm with you on this one @Korbz. The scent of the Trismegistus is something special. And the performance of Scotts soaps are always great.

Have a good weekend fellas.

@todras what are your thoughts on the Barristers Reserve Fern?

An immediate classic, it reminds me strongly of General Ledger without the Rose and Basil accord, it's very well executed and I will be buying tubs of it when it releases as it's such a versatile Fougère that lends itself to so many aftershave and EDP combinations. It's not challenging, so people who are new to the family will find it accessible and 'nice' smelling :)

First shave at home in a while I have been able to enjoy.....

Razor:
Slim (5)
Blade: Iridium Super (ie the most modern Polsilver) (2)
Brush: P&C Platypus
Soap: B&M Ferox
Post: APR 'White Tea & Ginger' (sampler)

Pushed myself to try and finish off this blade used for travel this week with the 3rd shave but it has another in it yet. Will be done after the next shave, and I am pretty sure it was my last Iridium Super in my stash. Does not matter too much as while they are nice, they are not super sharp like some of the vintage blades.

Warmer day in Sydney and the White Tea and Ginger is suitably fresh. Craving something else native in the blend, hoped the tea tree in the Ferox would provide it but alas the APR has strong-armed it into submission.

Pre: Shower
Soap: Pb Lemon Myrtle
Brush: Zenith Boar
Razor: Jowika 6/8"
Post: Jojoba/essential oil mix
Soap is fresh batch this morning. Formulation required a long cook so I'm guessing it will also benefit from sitting for a couple of weeks. I enjoy using the Jowika. Plenty of feedback and crunch though for some reason it was just an average shave. Though after last weekend my face is very happy with average.

Brush: Simpsons, PJ2
Soap: APR, Lixiviant
Razor: Gem, Junior
Blade: Gem SS
Post: APR, Lixiviant

The sun is up and it feels like spring so APR Lixiviant, of course.
After a super close shave with the 1924 yesterday just a couple of passes with the Junior today. I struggle to see any significant difference from the 1912 head only a little more curve on the corners of the safety bar, indeed it still has the 1912 stamp. The handle is obviously different, doesn't it look great!

Have a great Sunday.
