Soap: Pb Lemon Myrtle V2
Brush: Omega 10019
Razor: Asylum Rx
Blade: Feather ProGuard
Post: Jojoba/essential oil mix
Seeking Asylum cont'd. If you're tired of following this saga the short story is - great shave. As you can see from the above photos I think I have acquired every blade there is to try in the Asylum. I was hesitant to try the ProGuard as to me it feels like putting on the training wheels. This would have to be the best shave I've had out of the Asylum. Very smooth shave and no weepers until I pushed it to see how far I could go buffing, then a couple of minor weepers. If you're not familiar with the ProGuard, see the above photo, Feather creates the 'guard' by wrapping a wire around the blade edge to create a sort of 'depth guage'. You can see the striations it leaves down your face as you shave. When you get a new blade out of the dispenser and run your thumb across the blade edge it doesn't bite because the blade is protected.
So why am I still dubious after getting a great shave after a run of massacres? I can't quite get over the training wheels thing, but.... it works. I'm still inclined to go back and try the straight razor technique on the other blades (excepting of course the Supers:)).

Pre-Shave: @khun_diddy Olive Oil Soap, cold water
Razor: BBS-1
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Morris & Forndran Tigris
Lather: Mike's Bay Rum
Post-Shave: Alum, Stirling Bay Laurel Witch Hazel, Australian Emu Oil

Heavenly shave with some stellar Mike's lather - what a perfect way to start the weekend.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend (y)

Well then.. look forward to your BSTs (btw they aren't public anymore after today). (y)
So the g-bar too inefficient for you, it is a mild shaver?

If you go tomorrow to the Sydney Meetup can you please bring that lovely razor for me to admire (hold)

Know we will be sniffing a lot tomorrow and if you have space in your bag I would love to smell the mayflower.
Think i'm kinda in the flower to woody smells at present. If not, totally understand :)

I don't find it, or any GEM style mild. As much as I want to like these razors, I just don't get a comfortable shave from them.

Thoughts...
- Perth Spring has sprung and we've had some warm weather to end the week. Today’s shave celebrated that with a wonderful dry and peppery green experience and the return of my greatest razor. I cannot praise this head enough and I thought I should be getting back into it as we all wait for Oct 15 and the launch of the stainless steel version. I won't get mine till December as my daughter is buying it as a birthday present. But I’m not impatient for it. The aluminium version is truly outstanding and I’m only getting the SS because I want this magic to last till I die. I suspect the aluminium won’t do that with all the stainless steel handles I use with it.

I'm with you @Greenpike , this razor has been a revelation to me. I had no knowledge of it until @Draco Noir posted a very positive review of it and encouraged others to give it a go. I respected his opinion very highly and so ordered the head that evening. Finally after much trying many blades I followed the recommendation of @SpeedyPC and found the perfect blade for me, the Schicks. I'm definately going to be putting my order in on Sunday night for the SS model!

o_O mmmm, not sure. I read it as opening at the end of Sunday/begining of Monday. Your link states "Midnight here means "The start of the day" rather than "end of day" (00:00 in 24-hour format)"
I call that Sunday midnight.

Here's another time convertor,
https://www.worldtimebuddy.com/?qm=1&lid=5,2158177,4560349&h=5&date=2017-10-15&sln=9-10

The main thing is that we get it right so neither of us miss out. ;)
*Ahem*... There might be others on this forum who will also be trying to get in early.
;)

Brush: Simpsons, PJ2
Soap: Mitchells Wool Fat
Razor: Merkur, Progress (3,2)
Blade: Rapira (1)
Post: APR, Jasmine, Ginger, White Tea

I decided to use the Progress again, after a long break. It's still not a great razor for me, nothing terrible, just not a good enjoyable shave.
On the bright side, the Wool Fat is great, simple, fantastic lather, it just works. Followed by some lovely 'vintage' APR, loving that scent, especially the tea!

Enjoy your Sunday shaves
