Lovely cool change with the southerlies hitting Sydney, the perfect choice for the weather and Shawn's EDT hitting the mark.

Have a good day fellas, enjoy your shaves :bear:

BBR shavette ?? I believe your talking about the Bluebeards Revenge shavette right?? well this shavette is the same design as the Parker SR1 shavette and if your looking for some extra weight get the Parker SRX Heavy Duty shavette or the Irving Barber Company (IBC) shavette

The Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow Sharp Edge is alright which I can get about 4 or 5 shaves (YMMV) only with the Merkur 34C, my only favorite DE blades are Astra SP, German Wilkinson Sword, Gillette Silver Blue, Perma-Sharp Super, Polsilver Super Iridium, Vintage Polsilver Stainless & Voskhod.

However I don't have just a Merkur 34C razor, I have a complete collection of Safety Razors and Shavettes:-

EJ DE89 Extra Grip Knurled
Fatip Piccolo Nickel
Fatip Grande Nickel
Feather Artist Club DX Shavette (folding & non-folding)
Feather Artist Club SS Shavette (folding & non-folding)
Fine Superlight Slant (travel razor)
Gillette Fatboy Adjustable G2 1961
Gillette New Long Comb 1930
iKon X3 Slant with The Stray Whisker "Howitzer" Handle
Irving Barber Company (IBC) Shavette
Kai Captain Standard DX Shavette (folding & non-folding)
Maggard Razors v2.0 Open Comb with a MR5 Handle
Merkur 23C
Merkur 33C
Merkur 34C
Merkur 1904/41C Open Comb
Muhle R41 v2013 with a MR5 Handle
Muhle R89 with a Weber Razor Classic Handle
Parker Variant Adjustable in Satin Chrome
Phoenix Double Open Comb
RazoRock German 37 Slant
RazoRock Mentor
Razorock Mission
RazoRock Old Type Open Comb
RazoRock Quick-Change (travel razor)
RazoRock Wunderbar Slant

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: P&C LE Platypus 2017
Soap: Tabula Rasa Steampunk
Razor: ATT Kronos M2
Blade: Vintage Schick Plus Platinum (4)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EDT: Tabula Rasa Steampunk Viola

Tabula Rasa is up there amongst my favourite non-tallow soaps. Uniquely soft croap, scents are mentally good, and the post shave feel is the equal of any soap I have tried, including the Tallow heavy hitters.
It's Achilles heel is a lack of residual slickness, but nevertheless an excellent soap on balance.
I have given up trying to describe Steampunk Viola. Suffice to say that I find it unique and fantastic.
Agree 100% @TomG - Tabula Rasa is awesome (haven't tried the Steampunk yet):D:D

Preshave: Hot water splash
Razor/Blade: Timeless (0.68) & Voskhod (2)
Brush: TF Custom "Rusticated" 26mm Bob Quinn Manchurian.
Soap: B&M "Night Music"
Post shave: Hot water splash, Bloc D' Alun, Cold Water Splash, Thayer's Witch Hazel, TSW Balm.
Aftershave/Cologne: B&M "Night Music"

Well today has been my first reasonably pain free day this week, especially now that the Dr knows whats wrong. Amazing what a scan can find.
Turns out I had something wrong that is really quite rare and cannot be explained as too why it happens, (Epiploic Appendagitis) made me feel really special "not."
Med's are all good now and pain under control so i had my first day back in the workshop today since last week. So shave tonight was much more enjoyed and not a whisker to be found anywhere on my face :) I am sitting here typing this and enjoying that Vanilla and Bergamot, with that Musky and very sweet scent of the Iris and Strawberry. Probably not for everyone but I love it and boy does the scent stay with you for a very long time.
Enjoy the rest of your night guys and have a great weekend.
Cheers Tony

Good to hear @Tony Forsyth - hope you're surviving the rain / floods too - its all happening up there:(
Thanks @Snooze Had about 50mm of water through the workshop, saved me sweeping up the mess ;)
all clean and dry again now though, just as well everything is slightly up off the concrete floor on mobile bases.
Cheers
Tony

Great to hear they know what the issue is mate an you're on the mend! Also that you haven't been washed away :)

Brush: Omega Synthetic HI-Brush
Soap: Proraso Green
Razor: Fatip Gold Closed-Comb "Gentile"
Blade: Gillette Super Blue (2)
Lotion: Alum / Pinaud Clubman / Pinaud Clubman Talc

The aptly-named Fatip Gold "Gentile" (Italian: gentle) razor is as mild and smooth as an Edwin Jagger. It easily provided a two-pass bbs shave, without need of further attention, and is perhaps the best razor in this respect that I have ever used. There was no need for a post-shave balm.

Brush: Maggards Synthetic
Soap: Squadron Spitfire
Razor: Merkur Progress 2.5/1.5
Blade: Polsilver (4)
Post: Thayers, Nivea

Early morning Saturday shave.
I have been using the Progress again this week for the first time in a while and, while it gives a close shave, it's just not a smooth experience for me. Much prefer the 6s so its going to the back of the cupboard for a while.
I keep coming back to the Spitfire soap, the more I use it the more I enjoy the scent.

Have a great day. Don't do anything foolish

Pre: Proraso Green Pre/Post
Brush: P&C Platypus
Soap/Cream: Proraso Green
Razor: Rockwell 6S (6, 6, 4)
Blade: Astra Green (3)
Post-shave: Alum, Emu Oil, Myrsol Formula "C", TSW After Balm

Remembered to swap the plates last night. Much better shave with the #6 plate.
The Astra green is performing nicely too. Went with an ATG pass last night, and the alum told me that although my skin wasn't particularity happy it was one of the best ATG shaves I've had. The emu oil and Con's after balm help the face to feel exceptional!
Have a great weekend and stay safe!

I'm back ...

Well that was an interesting, and full, trip west. From the moment I landed in Perth and checked my emails to see what I was doing until I hoped on the plane in Kalgoorlie Friday morning to fly to PER and then SYD and then CBR it was flat out. Glad to be back home to a relaxing and decent shave.

Time to change the kit for tomorrow but for now, that was great!

Have a good weekend guys!
