I don't seem to recall the Astra being so smooth, really nice today.

A very enjoyable shave today.Using the Mondial is always a pleasure with a DE, it was a PIF by @58RW when I first joined this forum.(Along with a Ballend Tech and some Voskhods).
Apart from Palmolive shave stick that I have always used,it was my first soap and part of my reentry into true wet shaving practices since a year or so around 1987.
Now that I have more time working soaps, today I achieved a lovely shiny thick lather which contributed to a satisfying result.
Very comfortable and relaxing.

Rockwell R4 w/Polsilver
TurnNshave tuxedo fan
Nanny's silly soap - down home summer
Anherb balm

Wonderful soap! Creamy lather with a very enjoyable scent.

The tuxedo fan remains my favorite tuxedo knot. The full fan (not hybrid) is just wonderful!

If anyone is considering a tuxedo, I'd highly recommend the TurnNshave quarter "moon knot" tuxedo knot.

Back on the road but it's backdrop from another road trip or nothing today. Reliable shave from the trustworthy Hawk. Another Soapy Science sample compliments of @FluffyGroodle . It's really nice soap with a pleasant scent but not memorable.

Wholly Kaw King Of Oud
Acqua di Parma Colonia Oud

Along with Project Leather, I place this as a spring or even summer fragrance. Very light indeed, while the AdP was glorious.

  1. Preshave: Cyril R Salter - Lavender
  2. Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
  3. Razor: Charcoal Goods, Level 2
  4. Soap: Stubble Trouble, Up and Adam
  5. Brush: Dovo silvertip
  6. Postshave: Jojoba oil
  7. Earworm: Keep Your Head Up - Ben Howard
This really is a great soap. It produces a seriously thick lather which just lasts and lasts, no drying out whatsoever. Took my time this morning and had a great 3 pass shave with BBS results. Happy hump day.

Pre: Hot shower
Brush: Razorock Big Bruce
Soap: B&M Reserve Cool (sample)
Razor: Rockwell 6S (5)
Blade: Polsilver (3)
Post: AP Reserve Ozymandias

After 11 uses of the Cool sample, today was it's final crack. If i was asked if i would buy this soap, the answer would be a no, but if i was gifted one, i'd be happy to use it. I prefer the Spice and the Classic in both scent and performance over the Cool. But i did manage to get a very good lather in the end - just took some practice and trail/error.

For the third day running, plate 5 on the Rockwell with a Polsilver blade was the go. No nasty surprises from this setup, but i'm dialling back to 4 for tomorrow's shave, and may or may not replace the blade with something fresh.

@tim33z you've noticed a difference in performance between the Reserve soaps?
The Cool feels thinner in density than the other 2 mentioned.
It could very well be a placebo effect, but i have full tubs of the others and the Cool was a sample which i squished into a tupperware tub of a similar size to a normal soap tub, but as i say, it could be in my mind...
