Razor: Vintage Gillette 'Fatboy' Adjustable (5)
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (2)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson '46' reknotted in pure
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) les généraux du grand livre shaving soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) les généraux du grand livre splash
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) les généraux du grand livre EDP

First white out fog of the season I can recall. Great shave with a mountain of lather. Wife is away again so I have some time in the bathroom this morning. I would have done lather shots but I have no phone at present :(

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: Unbranded long handle synth
Soap/Cream: Layrite - Natural Matte Cream
Razor/Blade: Unbranded swivel single edge ceramic blade with guard
After shave: Queen 100% Pure Canadian - Maple Syrup splash

Not a great shave (I think the blade needs sharpening), but it smells nice (y). A vanilla scent from the cream and true maple scent from the after shave makes it a great gourmand combo. I found out that the cream doesn't really lather, so treat it more as a brush-less.
Maybe some Bullers Iced "Neapolitan" would have gone well as a post, pre the Maple.

Feeling nostalgic seeing all the Gillette adjustable razors.

Lol very nice 'dated' SOTD :LOL:
At first I'm like who is this kaeckerpot and after a second read I remembered the date.
Very creative, though only nitpick would be the 'pre' was normal and maybe substitute it for 'apple vinegar rub' etc :jimlad:

A sweet Easter shave in prep for family hugs. First use of Eventide and, as I suspected when I ordered just to get free shipping, I wasn't going to like the scent as much as the performance. Very raspberry and rose out of the puck and on the face. It's a Lavanille type experience (lots love it but not me). Performance OUTSTANDING as always with B&M and this was a very simple 3 pass BBS from 3 days growth. I guess I'll just have to wait for my Roam reboot from Maggards to be back adoring my B&M scents (though I do love the Latha Sandalwood).

Also - Tiger lotion before PAA lotion reduces the harsh burn and I think using non APR aftershaves has removed a good amount of conditioning.

Preshave: shiner gold shave soap
Brush: Dovo Silvertip
Cream: B&M Reserve, Cool
Razor: Above The Tie, Open comb slant, Colossus Handle
Blade: Astra superior platinum
Postshave: Proraso green

For me, I don't get along with these reserve soaps. I've been trying for a couple of weeks now and I just can't seem to get a decent lather form them. I hate the way that the puck goes 'sticky' when you load your brush. I've tried small loads, big loads, bowl lather, face lather and palm lather all with little bits of water and large quantities of water. So it's not for want fo trying, but no matter what I do, I am unable to get a lather that is comparable to either of the B&M Glissant soaps that I have (Cologne Russe & First Snow). Anyway, once I had a lather (of sorts) I was able to do a 3 pass shave and came out with a DFS. I love this razor so much. Just seems to work for my beard. Happy Easter everyone.

Semogue Boar, Mitchells Wool Fat, Filarmonica Inox 13, Witch Hazel, Nivea, VCS

Nice two passes with the Fili, very relaxing and took my time.Like the Wool Fat with the straight but after using Haslinger yesterday I think that one has a bit more slickness to it,will need to do some more testing to be sure.Surprised the kids left me alone to have a shave in peace as it doesn't happen often and after the amount of chocolate today thought they would be annoying me more.
Quite peaceful actually. Looking forward to a nice roast chook for our Easter dinner.
Enjoy and Happy Easter to all.

Date: 01 April 2018

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- Platypus P&C LE 2017 24mm Manchurian White
Soap/Cream:- Route 66 ~ Sweeney Todd 4x
Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Razor:- Rockwell 6C (R5)
Blade:- Gillette Silver Blue #4
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic

Having a quiet Easter Sunday relaxing shave because I'm packing up all my shaving gear, the house is going to Auction on Saturday 5th of May so there will be house inspection every Thursday and Saturday.

As my parents are getting a divorce since I've been through Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service (VVCS). Since I've had more than 40 years of abuse, I have had enough of my father since he went through Vietnam War. Hopefully, in the middle of June or early August, I will be moving into my own unit in my own space, so I don't have to keep an eye on my mother from abuse from my father and she will have her own space. War has destroyed our family lives and our friends in so many ways. If you know someone who is a War Veteran who has been through war never be afraid to get help from Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service (VVCS) because it's never too late, from mental, verbal and physical abuse. Never be afraid of shame, silent, and darkest because you can always talk to your family and friends if you needed help, there always help from Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service (VVCS).

Brush: Proraso (Omega)
Razor: Yaqi DOC & RR Bamboo handle
Blade: Shark (Super Chrome SS)
Scuttle/Bowl/Mug: Fine Lather bowl
Pre: Shower & Barber Shoppe face balm
Soap: Wolfpac Ice
Post: Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil & Barber Shoppe balm

The more I shave with this razor the more I am impressed with its performance and today's shave was no exception. Not the most smootest of shaves due to the blade offering unwanted resistence but the DOC still achieved a near BBS in 3 1/2 passes so there's no complaining with that :) Is safe to say I'm not a afn of the Shark blades so look forward to trying another brand in my next SOTD. Have a great remainder to your Easter weekend and happy shaves!

Sad to read about your situation @SpeedyPC but glad you've achieved some assistance in getting your life back on track. I can relate growing up to abuse and it takes time to heal the scares but here's hoping your father gets the help he needs to manage his past. My dad was an abusive bastard (alcohol in his case) and it took decades for mum to leave him but since their divorce we've all moved on so here's hoping you can too. If you ever need a chat feel free to PM me and stay strong for your mum (y) Domestic violence is NEVER the answer!

- Rockwell R3 w/Polsilver
- TurnNshave tuxedo fan (quarter moon)
- Mystic water (lavender)/Coates lime cream super lather
- Anherb balm

The mystic water soap has lost all its scent so i added a bit of the lime cream to give it some scent.

I received three Coates tubes (rose, lime and tea tree) from a friend and I must admit, they are very good and the only cream I like.

SOTD
Gillette FB (3)
I Coniali Mango
Vie Long Silver Tip
Gillette Super Stainless Steel

I'll add and maybe this applies to some of you others but I have my favourites in both soap / brushes & razors at the moment its' obviously and probably will always be Gillette Fat Boy in saying that my Gillette Twist white handle nearly gets as much love. Now that's not to say I have not tried a lot of other razors gees I've even had a crack at using a Straight 3/4 times that was interesting, also SE / Flare tips / Slims / 3 Piece / Toggle and many more so though appears limited, ongoing I've tried many. With soaps same applies of this time and this is I know can be very personal on choice, but for a while now it's Mondial & RazoRock & I Coniali However, that I would say can change but it is for now and for a while to come. Not a huge Shave Den on equipment but I get some awesome shaves from it.

Happy Easter Lads

Thank you @Razor Burn this help a lot, I'll be okay, I'm on depression medication for 12 months for PTSD and still undergoing counseling until further notices. I'm glad my mother is getting rid of the house which has caused so much pain, she very emotional giving up her home because it keeps poisoning our minds and our mental health which needs to be done otherwise we will never heal.
