Holy crap! There's definitely something extraordinary about the flat top synthetics. It's quite bizarre to use because it requires zero pressure and no splay and yet it generates a creamy lather instantaneously!!

Sometimes I really wonder why I have accumulated 70 brushes!!

@Spencer Frankel
Have you given it a shot yet with no splay?

Pre: Shower
Razor: Karve CB (OC C)
Blade: Astra Green (4)
Brush: Omega 48
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica
Post: Speick Aftershave, Proraso White Balm

Had a tuck of the Astra green blades so thought I'd give them a go. They're not bad but not great, not as sharp as Polsilvers or Nacets and don't last nearly as long either. Back to the Nacets tomorrow.

Never ceases to amaze me how different we all are. I have the opposite experience with these blades.

Hey @Nico, how did you find shaving with the TTO?

Hey @Razor Burn .
The razor is very well finished for its price range, has some heft to it. I started the shave on level 3 thinking it would be mild, wrong. I dialed it back to 2 and got fairly comfortable shave. No weepers but did get some skin irritation on my neck. I suspect the Gillette 7 o'clock blade with this razor was a bit too much for my skin.

Thanks for the feedback. Having tried setting 4 it was noticably rough, with 3 tolerable but surprisingly 2 gave me a smooth/comfortable shave! I find the head size optimal compared with the other adjustables I own/have tried so will happily use it in my rotation. Not a regular TTO user but this freebie has me converted (y)

Pre: PSE
Soap: Pre de Provence No: 63
Brush: Omega 1900
Razor: Leaf
Blades: Polsilver
Got a better lather consistency this morning to suit the leaf. It needs very little to do its job. Another great shave but I don't think this razor would win any awards for graceful moves, which is OK, I don't normally entertain an audience.:)

Great to be home SOTD....

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: The Stray Whisker Silvertip Badger
Soap: Arko
Razor: Rockwell 6C (R6)
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Spoiler (2)
Post: The Stray Whisker Alum block, Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera

Was in a rush this morning so reached for the Arko stick for the first time since the February challenge. Outcome - lovely smooth and close shave, and I didn't really notice the scent either. Lesson learnt - Arko is great....as long as you use it every couple of months.

Wonderful experience today! The Marlborough soap smells awesome! The brush was caked with rich, creamy lather. The marvel delivered a close BBS.

The marvel is definitely not as smooth or comfortable compared to the Karve with D plate (both have similar blade gaps).
