brush:yaqi synth
razor: aristocrat
soap: valobra
balm: ozymandias
after enjoying the rocket during the week i thought id have another go with the aristocrat.looking at the razors side by side the heads look identical with just different plating and handles. the difference in the shave though is very noticeable with the aristocrat feeling similar on the face and smooth and mild but its just not as efficient and i ended up with a bit of razor burn trying to get the result i wanted.i haven't weighed them it it does feel lighter so that may be it or the heads may be more different than they appear.either way it goes back in mothballs to shave another day and the rocket stays out on rotation.

Holy crap! There's definitely something extraordinary about the flat top synthetics. It's quite bizarre to use because it requires zero pressure and no splay and yet it generates a creamy lather instantaneously!!

Sometimes I really wonder why I have accumulated 70 brushes!!

@Spencer Frankel
Have you given it a shot yet with no splay?

Just gave mine a test lather. Did not work at all. Just will not open up, it stays as a little cylindrical shape and will not volumise it at all. I added a bit more pressure like a half splay and it sort of worked OK. Maybe the tuxedo flat top is different density and backbone to the one I own?

Hmmmm interesting.
I have the tuxedo and plissoft flat tops and both work the same.
I load up, place the knot flat against my face with no pressure and swirl in larger circles than usual and it works a treat.
Took me a few goes to get it right though...now I could literally use it daily and be content (but where's the fun in that!?).

Pre-shave: Hot shower
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson shaving brush
Razor: Gillette NEW head on TSW Bren handle
Blade: Derby Premium (2)
Soap/Cream: Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars shaving soap
Post-shave: Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars aftershave splash & balm
Fragrance: Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars EDP

Same setup as yesterday, except for the brush. Same outcome, although better lather, smell great but with a little nick or two.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: The Stray Whisker Silvertip Badger
Soap: Tabac
Razor: Rockwell 6C (R6)
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Spoiler (3)
Post: The Stray Whisker Alum block, Tabac
Fragrance: Tabac

The Tabac cologne and aftershave were an impulse buy at Chemist Warehouse yesterday. So glad I took the plunge - the scent is similar to but much more pleasant than the soap. After several months I'm still not sure if I like the soap scent wise (performance is top notch), but it's an unequivocal thumbs up for the Cologne and aftershave.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Rooney 1/3 Super Silvertip Badger
Soap: Haslinger Schafmilch (Tallow)
Razor:Wolfman WR1
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
Post: Thursday Plantation Tea Tree & Witch Hazel, CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave
Scent: Chanel Antaeus

First shave with the WR1, so I paired it with a blade and soap I both know very well. The Haslinger lather was delightful, and very slick indeed.
Three very comfortable passes - the razor felt very precise and rock-solid. Not a hint of resistance in the ATG final pass, which is always a very good sign for me.
After three passes, I was very much at BBS. The only negative was some minor tenderness on the sides of my mouth, almost certainly due to a little too much pressure.
I don't have much experience with the more aggressive razors - I would say that the efficiency seemed quite similar to my Blackland Blackbird.
Wonderful post-shave feel from the tallow Haslinger Schafmilch soap.
