Prep: Hot Shower
Brush: Vulfix old original pure Badger
Soap: ARKO
Razor: Merkur 37c slant
Blade: Vintage NOS Rubie (11)
Post: The Stray Whisker Alum Block, Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera

11 shaves and done for the vintage Rubie. Probably could have pushed for one more, but my gut says enough. Looking forward to a first shave with the Nacet tomorrow.

YMMV indeed, after trying various different blades a couple of years ago I had settled on Polsilvers as my blade of choice and stocked up on them too. Last year I gave the Nacet a go and found it be (to me) smoother than the Polsilver. I still use my Polsilvers occasionally but always happy to return to the Nacet. And don't get me started on Feathers, no idea how anyone shaves with those!

I'd be interested in your feedback using karve D with Polsilver and karve F with nacet.

I have found the nacet nowhere near as sharp as the Polsilver in my karve D. The nacet is about the same as the GSB and Gillette black ninja for me. All acceptable blades but need extra effort to get BBS.

Feathers...well, they are laser like IME. They wipe the stubble off but the harshness of the blade comes after the shave for me.

Simpsons, Milk Churn in Best
Charcoal Goods, Magnum, Level 3, Feather

Love this razor handle, but of all my razors this is the most aggressive by far. I only ever need to use 1 pass. Unfortunately I nicked myself this morning (it has been a while) so might leave this bad boy to mow down some weekend stubble come Monday morning.

February Slant/s SOTM

Brush: Omega 24mm
Razor: Merkur 37C
Blade: Gillette Nacet (14)
Soap: RR xXx
Post: Thayers Aloe & Lemon + Proraso white balm

Brush: Omega 24mm
Razor: iKon X3 + OSS handle
Blade: Gillette Nacet (15)
Soap: RR xXx
Post: Thayers Aloe & Lemon + Australian Lemon & Tea Tree cream

My last 2 SOTM. Summary - The Nacet blade is a real winner for its durability, longevity and performance. Of the 3 slants used the 37C was my favourite but the X3 and Maggards come a close second. I finally used up the xXx after consistent use and the soap served me well. No irritation, satisfactory performance and a pleasant scent. Love the boar brush, despite it starting to shed the odd hair :( Overall a surprising experiment which has changed my opinion of slants and the practice resulted in many pleasant shaves... Looking forward to my SOTD in March! :pompous:

Stirling - Satsuma
Gaia ASB

A new Polsilver and an effortless BBS!
The blade smoothes out after the first couple of uses so it'll only get better!

My skin is inflamed, maybe from the weather, who knows?! but I'll be using an un-scented soap for the next few days as the Stirling did irritate my skin today even though I've previously used it with no issues.
