I believe they get sharper as the shaves go on, as opposed to Feathers that smooth out... YMMV
Will def persist with them then and see what happens

If it makes you feel any better I had similar experience my first few shaves as it shaves similar to the R41 & Timeless OC Bronze but is slightly smoother due to the SB plate.
Soap: C&B Bay Lime
Brush: 26mm TF HMW
Razor: Blackland Dart
Blade: Personna (1)
AS: Pb Bay Lime
Not a great introduction to the dart. There were weepers and a nick. Lots of blade feel. But hopefully a better shave than the Euromax in the GC .84P yesterday which was 5 o'clock shadowing by lunchtime.
Hopefully some blade changes and technique adjustment (i.e. getting used to it, the technique adjustment required is not immediately obvious) will produce a more enjoyable shave.
I like the look/design of the Dart and it feels good in the hand so I really don't want to move it on.

Give it some time as once you dial it in you'll be rewarded with efficient shaves!
Shane from Blacklands suggests using a steeper angle (ride the safety bar) to modulate the aggressiveness and blade feel.
I also found the Dart Pass Around Thread a good source of valuable information regarding blades, technique:

I wasn't too keen to let it go as its a solid razor but I couldn't justify keeping so many similar razors in my collection so it had to go. A shame as Blackland make awesome razors and I'd happily add to my collection in the future! Thanks! That looks helpful, and I'm sure your right, I just need to dial it in. It certainly doesn't come across as a dud, it looks and feels the goods.
If I had made a decision as to whether I would ditch the Asylum Rx in the first 6 - 8 shaves it would've been out the door and now I'm glad I persevered.

Checking out similar reviews the majority consensus is that if you keep the angle stable it'll shave smoothly with decent efficiency on par with a R41. Keep at it and hope to see some positive thoughts in future SOTD posts.
I was tempted by the Blackbird and when it was released in Brass I nearly bit the bullet but reviews of distinct blade feel deterred me.Yes, and the whisper is a titanium Bleckbird before the end of the week.
