Razor: Rocca R94
Blade: BIC Chrome Platinum (3)
Brush: Yaqi 2-Band Badger
Soap: MdC Argumes

Going to shave with this soap all week and try dial it in, got to say the love is growing with the MdC and might end up with the Rose shortly. Third shave with the BIC and its gonna get the flick, started to feel a little rough on the ATG

Brush: TF Customs Blue & Gold 30mm tuxedo
Razor: Rocca V4 R96
Blade: Astra SS Blue (1)
Soap: AP Reserve Fresca
Bowl: Rover from Artisan Arcade
Pre: Shower
Post: AP Reserve Lavioletta A/S splash // Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm
WTG, XTG, ATG = DFS+

A much better shave with the Astra Blue than the Nacet but still not as smooth or close as a Wizamet. Strange as I feel the blade more in the R96 than any time when using the R94...? If only @Mark1966 didn't jinx me then I'd have my R95 already instead of it stuck with AusFarce's sorting facility in Sydney!!! :banghead:
Happy Shaves!

I dont feel any difference in the blade at all between the two razors. It might be that you are using more pressure due to the lighter weight?

the status on my R95 hasnt changed.. I just think tracking stops once it hits us in AU.. shouldnt be long now

Soap: Pb Gillean
Brush: Omega 10098
Razor: Blackland Dart
Blade: Dorco Prime (3)
AS: Pb Gillean
Gillean hit the spot - loving the spicy charred woodsey scent.
The 10098 had been recommended to me and I was slightly dissapointed as the knot is a little straw broomish like the 10048 I bought not so long ago. I'm looking for the long luxurious knots like in the Omega Italian Boar and Zenith brushes, but it will be fine, just not likely to be a favourite and they are relatively cheap brushes. It's now soaking in vinegar to deal with some of the new brush smell and maybe soften the bristles a little.
The Dart shaved more like I expected it to today. I think the Dorco Prime helped as it's a milder blade (not as wide edge to edge @Gargravarr :)) and also @Razor Burn 's advice of steeper angle was helpful.(y) Happy shave.
I'll be going back for more and will also try Treet Black Carbon and Bolzano as suspects for good matches for this razor. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It might be true but I'm getting distict blade feel when using the Nacet, Astra Blue that I wasn't experiencing earlier...?

According to AusFarce my R95 is on its way today so should have something positive to report after work ;)

Happy to see you had a better shave and look forward to seeing how you go with the Treet & Bolzano blades as I have a tuck each and have yet to try them myself.

I had the same feeling with nacet blades. Didn’t realise you meant only with that blade

Good to hear about you r95, looking forward to your thoughts

Yeah sorry, noticing more blade feel XTG & ATG with the Nacet and lesser extent with Astra Blues that is very minimal when used with a Wizamet? For whatever reason the Wizzy's shave super smooth and close with very little blade feel and hardly any redness??? I'll keep at the Astra and see how it goes as first shave was decent but not as close as I was getting with my original R94.
Here's hoping your R95 lands soon buddy! ;)

Are you going to try the Astra Green into your Rocca after the Astra Blue?

I was going to try the Gillette Silver Blues and Rubies but might make sense trying Astra Greens next to see if they shave differently?
In all honesty I don't see any blade matching the Wizamets in the Rocca but would be happy to be proven wrong!

for me Astra's are crap, total rubbish.. tried them a few times and they are rough.. nacets are not bad but i much prefer feathers to them. But the wizamet/polsilvers are the best all round blade i have come across, never put it in any razor so far that i wasnt impressed with.. especially the rocca.. this combo is the best (for me) by far.. so smooth and sharp!! good thing I have around 600 of them :)

Oddly I always found Polsilvers a top 10 blade that worked best for head shaves with the Leaf but its only since I tried Wizamets in the Rocca that I noticed how well they shaved. Plus the ability to push the blade out beyond 5 shaves is impressive so come 2021 I will be investing in 1,000 as they're a solid everyday blade!

The Treet Black Carbon's were a freeby from VSHOD and have been a very pleasant surprise working well in my Rocnel Elite (shimmed) and also the Wunderbar. Didn't work as well in the Gillette Slim.
The Bolzano's have worked well for me in Vintage Gillette razors but not in the Fatip Piccolo.

I'll have to give them a try one of these days as they gather dust with my other sample blades :)

Date:- 05 November

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice
Brush:- Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo Synth. 24/53mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Valobra (4 shaving sticks press into a 250 ml plastic tub)
Razor/Blade:- Razorock Mission / Tiger Platinum Premium Stainless #2
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Invite E High Potency Pure Oil (30 drops), Natural Plant Glycerin (20) & Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic (5)

The Tiger Platinum blades are mid-harsh and mid-tuggy against my type of stubble and my skin type as well, I’ll see how the Tiger blade goes further during my shaves and if it’s still mid-harsh and mid-tuggy means it’s not suitable for me.

Try placing the brush in about 2 cm of water and let it sit in the fridge for 2 days, Then lather it very briskly for about 5 - 10 minutes and repeat the cold treatment for another 24 hours. Boar brushes can take a very long time to "break in"

Oh come on, I think you know what I think about 'breaking in'.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I'm rushing to extract the brush now.
