2 pass WTG + touchups = DFS+. Another really enjoyable shave. I can now see why these rhodium knots receive high praise.
This blade and razor combo just keeps getting better. Smooth and reasonably sharp. I am not noticing any effciency loss like the wizamet at the same number of shaves.
The soap scent is another two thumbs up from me
. Although not a new scent it is the first time use with this soap and splash.
Scent notes leather, tobacco flower, cedar, anise, oakmoss, and patchouli.
What a fantastic masculine scent. Think John Wayne meets Hugh Heffner, they call up Brad Pitt and all decide to go out for one night romp in Bangkok.
The cedar and anise give the scent liveliness, while oakmoss and patchouli give a little earthiness. I don't like scents where the patchouli is overbearing, and this one it just blends in. On the dry down the leather slightly unfolds and adds character to the scent. This is a scent were I could where a matching Edc.
@Holiday asked me how the brush feels. So far with out a doubt it is by far the best badger knot I have ever used. Its soft, it doesn't smell. No need to soak longer than a minute, It splays beautifully. By the 3rd use it stopped shedding, This is a very dense knot, and the fan shape I am converted too. Like all badger knots I have learnt not to be a tightarse, and load the brush heavily. Always had enough soap for a 3 pass shave, and no mysterious brush eating the soap issues.
28-30mm seems to be a sweet spot for these knots. This knot actually feels luxurious on the face. Some badger brush setups look nice, but most don't feel that extra special. Sure they get the job done, but so does a synthetic. The TF Customs brushes with the Rhodium knots both look and feel luxurious. I am now happy to get rid of 2/3 of my brushes and keep just a few quality ones.
