Razor: Muhle - Rocca R94
Blade: Gillette - Minora Stainless (33)

GAME, SET & MATCH. 33 shaves on the Gillette Minora Stainless and how great the 33 shaves were. No nicks, cuts, or weepers, just shaving bliss. This blade has now equaled my record for the longest shave on a single DE blade. The other blade the Gillette Stainless ( red & white ), also achieved 33 shaves before I retired it. This time round I felt the effort to achieve the 33 shaves was less involved as I had plenty of practice last time around.

Will I be retiring this blade? NO.
I will continue on with this blade in rotation till it no longer achieves at least a DFS. By far the most balanced modern DE blade I have ever used. It's basically the Jack of all Blades.

Oooh. :woot: You've stirred tip my BAD, I don't think I've seen one of these before. How does the knot feel? Anything like the real thing? Not smelling like a dead pig's donger is a good thing. (y)
It runs very well they are across the board improving these Synthetic knots in a number of brands. This one does have a lot more backbone like a few that are around right now. As for imitating a Boar more a case of colour only.

unfortunately I don’t have anything lined up just yet I’ve been through enough in life to know that no job is worth your mental health. There is an opportunity for a job with my old manager which I’ve applied for but if successful will be a month away.

The new guy wanted to manage me out and made it very clear, and from the feedback I got yday the asshole put a lot of bullshit spin on what happened (to try make himself look good) when announcing it to the team, basically stating it was my decision and they supported me in letting me go early, but the truth will come out.

I totally agree with you. I quit in a similar circumstance back in 2006 with nothing to go to and even though it took 18 months to find another full time job I never regretted leaving as the stress was setting me up for a heart attack. Sometimes it's good to have some time to take stock and reconsider priorities.

Agreed. I quit my last (more than) full-time job in the last quarter of 2018, facing the reality that in my late 50s, I was never going to be at the top of anyone's list for re-employment, but it was still well worth it. I now consider myself semi-retired (I make jewellery, drawing on my old blacksmithing skills but without the physical trauma on the body) which I'm able to sell without going to the trouble of setting up any online presence. And, of course, spend far too much time looking at certain shaving forums...

Pre: Hot shower/Nivea Skin & Stubble
Brush: Yaqi Moka
Soap: As per image
Razor: Yaqi Mellon with Stamford Handle
Blade: Gillette Nacet (2)
Post: Nivea Skin & Stubble

I don't remember the last time I used the Yaqi Mellon and with what blade, but it must have been unremarkable enough that I put it away. Welp, I was pleasantly surprised that with the Nacet it was almost an autopilot shave with great efficiency. It was slightly unnerving to hear all that scraping feedback as it made me feel like it was tugging when it wasn't. One of my quicker and surprisingly better shaves. The Nacet is now my favorite blade; at least until I try the Minora next perhaps.

Pre: Warm water splash
Brush: TF Customs Woodrot Rhodium
Soap: Squadron, Sweetheart
Razor: Asylum, Evolution
Blade: Gillette Minora (3)
Post: Alum block, hot shower, unknown sample of after balm
Fragrance: APR, Suitably Attired (sample bottle)

Hammering the Squadron sweetheart at the moment. It has developed little gritty textures and I'm unsure what they are/what the cause is.
It's like some part of the soap isn't fully dissolving, or a component has "come out of solution" or something, for want of a better description.
Scraped into the depths of the tin and it's the same throughout, so not just a top surface issue.
It still lathers just fine and smells beautiful, it just has these tiny little grains in the lather now.
Not going to throw it out, cause I'm a bit of a tight arse, but to speed up it's consumption I'll use it every day and over lather every time with it now, ...... just because! :)

Any thoughts or experiences with / like this?

Yeah mine did the same thing, I've just kept using it and it is still terrific. It's showing the donut of death now. I wouldn't worry about it, but would be interested if anybody can explain what has happened. Perhaps it is just the 'Sweetheart' batch or a particular run, or maybe all Squadron soaps do that?

Let the kid choose tonights shave. She came up with

Razor-1917 old type standard set
Blade-Vintage Wilkinson Sword
Soap-Noble Otter Plunder
Brush-Omega boar
Aftershave-Vintage Avon Island Lime.

The aftershave didn't match scent wise but I could see where she was going with the Cannon 😂. The Wilkinson sword sang in this razor and easy shave.

Pretty common with a range of soap, I think it is some of the fatty acids seperating or something from memory - but maybe a soapmaker like @SchoolForAnts or @CraigE or @nsavage or somebody else can confirm!

I can confirm that my Dispatch Rider also had tiny grains leading me to think it was betonite clay or something similar???

The texture didn't take away from the performance, scent or end product but something I noticed...
