Aussie Wednesday shave features Squadron- “The Warden”. Squadron uses a WWII Air Force themes in their artwork and names that are reminiscent of the British 'Commando' Comics and are based in the rural outskirts of the Barossa Valley in South Australia, they have been making shaving soap since 2015. The Warden perennial favorite scent and is described as: “A masculine smelling blend of citrusy bergamot, with a bold strong base of vetiver, cinnamon bark, cedarwood and tobacco leaf.” Squadron soaps come in 125g tubs that cost AU$22.00, that’s 17.6 AU cents/gm which is “Exceptional” value in my Bang-for-Buck guide.
BTW: Squadron WebSite has restocked.
Shave Result: Squadron produced a lovely medium density, rich creamy, shiny lather from my normal half teaspoon scoop of soap(about 3.5g), the soap likes a bit of water. The lather provided excellent slickness and protection, I rate Squadron lather a solid Tier 2 performer. From the Warden lather I get a lovely well blended citrus, vetyver, wood aroma, lather scent strength 5/10. The DSC T7SE is a Zamac clone of the RR Mamba 70 head and it gave a mild, smooth and clean DFS.
