Lots of good advice above. It took a while for me to find a method that consistently produced good lather. What works for me is heavy loading with a wet brush. It is worth persevering, as it is terrific lather and a wonderful post shave experience.

This here was the winner for me, just loads and loads of swirling and loading until I got a somewhat thicker lather.

Definitely was slick and shaved very well, but I'll go out on a limb here and admit that the Tabac I got in the same order is WAY better for me. I think I may be somewhat of a convert!

Relax baby grasshopper, MWF master is here to help you, dummy. MWF behaves differently from Tabac.

haha, you always get a giggle from me.

It definitely behaves very different, I ended up doing what @TomG called out and it worked well enough, I just kept persisting and loading that brush till it was full of lather.

But like I said above, Tabac has become my new love (until I order something new that wows me)

Trust me, the more you used the FAT, the more you’re bare skin will love you.

MWF is the only soap that I'll boom. When you are ready to load, tip the booming water into your bowl, load with a wet brush and swirl like mad to lather it.

Forgive me father, its been 5 days since my last shave!!!! but what a ripper shave it was..

the WTG on such long hairs felt like I was gently brushing the growth, so smooth and so effective on first pass.. two more clean-up passes resulted in an impeccable shave

Ooh. I hope I don't get it. I can cope with being sick, but not being able to smell or taste would be a real hardship. Still, I've been lucky thus far, so it would be churlish to complain.
Luckily for e the overall symptoms have been similar to the seasonal flu with only issue being difficulty sleeping as the cough gets worse at night as the temp drops.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Forgotten Art "Southern Skies" 30mm Snow Leopard
Soap: Castle Forbes Lavender
Razor: Blackland Sabre
Blade: Personna GEM
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge cologne
COTD: Mandheling Sumatra

The cupboard under the washbasin in the guest bathroom is almost entirely populated with soaps in an advanced stage of doughnutting. So much so, in fact, that even the heroically unobservant Mrs Gargravarr has noticed and started to offer unsolicited suggestions in a threatening tone.

So. Time it is to finish off those products, so I can replace all those empty containers with full ones that I have been careful to not bring to her attention. :sneaky: First up is this CF which lasts almost forever, or at least until Sunday.

On "that other forum" they call this process "3017ing". I really hope someone here can come up with a better term...

That is a very nice looking brush @Mark1966.

Preshave: pull the mower apart and reassemble. Cold water
Brush: cheap badger I purchased from Shaver Shop when I first decided I was leaving plastic and going straights, before I knew about Paste & Cut and quality
Soap: Shaver Heaven Vertiver
Razor: Dovo 5/8 with faux mother of pearl scales
Postshave: alum block, cold shower, alum block

Another good shave. Since I've returned I am so enjoying the stropping, the scents of the soaps, the lathering, just the whole theatre of yester-year. I still feel like only a wanna-be as with the handle bars and beard I'm only a neck & nape shaver currently but the pure pleasure I'm having ... ... ...

Oh; the mower? Pulled it apart after finding the coil had no spark There is a one week wait to get one in so put all the screws & bits back so I wouldn't lose any and forget how it all goes back together.
