Last couple of shaves
wWUKhJr.gif

Pre-shave:- Shower
Brush:- Shavemac Americana D01 (3 band) 24/50 Bulb - really appreciating the stout backbone of this brush and difference between all the various badgers in the den
Soap/Aftershave:- Unconditional Surrender - delightful scent and the geranium is mild enough not to spoil it
Razor:- Gillette Aristocrat #15/Gillette 1966 L1 Slim @4
Blade:- Vintage Schick Super Krona - Chrome (8)

Pre-shave: Hot shower, Proraso Pre-shave
Brush: SOC Finest Badger
Soap: MDC Rose
Razor: John Williams
Post-shave: Homemade rose splash
Nice. If I were stuck on a desert island, with conveniently running hot water and a washbasin and no other shaving soap, I could easily live with MdC Rose.

Provided, of course, that I had a sufficient supply of single malt and caviar... :p

Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Pears soap
Brush: Troycraft "Opalesque" 28mm AP G5C
Soap: Valobra + a drop of Lyndoch (SA) lavender EO
Razor: Blackland Sabre
Blade: Personna GEM Stainless
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+
COTD: Rante Kapua Torajah, Sulawesi

Almost the same shave as yesterday. The unscented Valobra makes anything possible. I'm almost regretting not having stocked up more of it when it was still being made. Oh well.

I agree on all three: MDC, caviar and single malt :)

BTW, have you had the chance to try MDC original yet? I think the scent is meant to be lavender and rosemary. It's quite nice. Last year, I finished my 50g container of it in a few months.

hi mate.. very curious about your home made rose splash? care to share :)

I also have MdC Rose and love it, usually I pair it with my WK Rose Concerto and it is nice but a little artificial smelling

I sourced my rose essential oil from Attar Bazar, a vendor based in California. They sell essential oils and fragrance oils. They have a few different roses (eg Persian, French, Arabian). I mix the essential oil in a little bit of methylated spirits(aka denatured alcohol) bought from Bunnings and then add Thayers Witch Hazel (now readily available from Chemist Warehouse). While I haven't done it strictly to measure, I estimate the final product to be have less than 20% alcohol; so most of the solution is Thayers. I use the alcohol mostly to keep the oil dissolved and as a preservative. If you enjoy that alcohol burn sensation post shave, I would add more.

Since when have you started collecting 'modern' razors!?
Lovely setup and killer choice of soap/splash as FBR is a real winner! (y)
