Still getting to know the new TroyCraft brush.

Soap: Martin De Canard (thank you P&C Charity Auctions)
Brush: TroyCraft Badger
Razor: Timeless Titanium SLIM 0.5mm open comb
Blade: Astra platinum green

The Brush. Very high quality. My first shave with it. Will need to get used to how it holds the water. Tried my usual lazy lather at the cheeks and it deserves more love than that. I will use the bowl and prep properly next time!

The razor: The titanium slim base plate required the included washer to fit correctly to the handle and top-cap. If you thought you were one and done, you haven't tried this razor. Timeless displaced a Wolfman WR2. And I suspect the 0.5mm slim will displace the 0.95mm Base Plate.

Whereas the 0.95mm is very forgiving with angles and technique, yet providing a relatively close shave... the 0.5mm requires a bit more care to find the correct angle. It's not hard (I found it first or second stroke). Has more blade feel and a bit more bite. So you're more careful. I would be very, very mindful if your preferred blade was a feather. Efficient on a single WTG stroke. Closer shave and more aggressive, not overly so. Face a tad sensitive after a simple two pass WTG/XTG shave so technique and not over-buffing will save skin. And the slim mitigates one of the criticisms of the timeless 0.95mm being too thick. This one is ergonomic enough to do as you please without any issue. The lightness of the titanium actually helps and it's an aggressive enough razor you do not need the extra pressure or weight from steel.

No nicks. So thankfully not a vampire razor.

This brush is without doubt my favorite, nothing else produces such a luxurious lather with very little soap with such ease. Pulled out an old Yaqi the other day to try out as its been a while and yeah, I doubt they will be used much at all, if ever....
