I hope not, except for Red Lead which I was a bit disappointed in, I really like their soap and fragrances.

I hope not too, but the website has been down for a while and stocks are disappearing in the retailers ...

SOTD – Wed 23 Feb 2022

My Aussie Wednesday shave with Stuga Australia – COCONUT & FRESH LIME, a vegetal soap base made in NSW Southern Highlands (new workshop). Stuga, “stooga”, or “cottage” in Swedish, is to simplify and enhance daily life. Stuga is a family owned business, that have been designing and handcrafting functional wood, leather, wool, metal and Artisan products that first started at a store in Hobart, Tasmania 1986.

🎥Shave VIDEO🎥

Shave Result: Stuga soap is a hard soap, but not tripled milled and is pliable enough to scrape a quarter teaspoon sample from and squash in my lathering bowl. Had no problems generating a rich creamy lather with great performance and the lather and residual felt luxurious on the skin, however, the lather did start to breakdown a little at the end of the shave. Scent is a pleasant coconut forward scent with some lime background, scent strength about 5/10. The DSC T7-SE razor with the Wizamet was a mild smooth clean DFS (near BBS).

- Schick Injector Type E3 w/ homemade handle
- Vintage Kmart Platinum Chrome (rebranded Schicks)
- Classic Edge Bay Rum Shaving Cream
- Vie-Longue Horse
- Aqua Velva Ice Sport

Another one straight out of my razor project box, a Type E3 head fixed to the handle (most of it anyway) of a Penn Razor. Curiosity got the better of me and I bought a couple of injectors just to try it. Wow, I wasn't ready for this kind of smoothness, the WTG passes felt as if there were no hairs on my cheeks. Damnit, I had resisted the B.A.D for 6 years... loll:LOL:

I had a Henson mild and had to move it on. I found it inefficient and the drag is a very common complaint. It may be due to the combination of anodised finish which feels a bit like a clear coat, and the relatively huge contact area; which creates a lot of surface tension.
Thanks heaps for the response and info that is what I thought someone was trying to tell me otherwise. So individual the results I guess we get.

I fear another Aussie artisan might be slowing backing away in @SchoolForAnts and Squadron Soap

Shame

It would be a real shame as the soaps and scents are some of my favourites... :(

Brush: Billygoat Brushworks "Smoke Screen" 26mm Oumo G5 synthetic
Razor: Muhle Rocca V4 R95 Birch Bark
Blade: Gillette Minora SS (5) // Gillette London Bridge (1) - thanks @rhodes96
Pre: Shower
Soap: Shaver Heaven Hubba Hubba
Bowl: Fine Lather Bowl
Post: Sukin Biomarine Facial Serum // Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm
WTG, ATG, Touchups = DFS+ // BBS

Plenty to like about the last few shaves using this setup as the R95 is by far my favourite DE razor as such a pleasure to use with the Minora, with the London Bridge blade shaving just as smoothly and close!

The G5 knot suits this handle perfectly as the knot performs like a 2 band badger but what makes this brush a winner is the shape as feels super comfortable in the hand loading from the tub.

The grape bubblegum scent is nice and the soap performs great but can't help but feel saddened as Shaver Heaven is unobtanium and the list of local soap makers grows seemingly smaller with each passing year... :(

Stay Safe & Happy Shaves!
