ATT SB90 + Alpha Outlaw
Super Iridium (2)
Saponifico Varesino soap
Maseto 26mm SilverTip

Hmmmm…..the ATT SB90 shave was a bit tuggy so I finished off with the Outlaw, and then but then the Maseto knot decided to separate itself from the handle.

The machining on the SB90 isnt good. The cap and baseplate are misaligned.

I have the same thing on my ATT SB90. But when I put a blade in the razor it aligns perfectly.

A very interesting shave this morning.

I woke up at 3am to attend the local (95km away) ANZAC Day Dawn Service. For my pre-service shave, I chose my custom made Colling ⅞ Spanish point and matched it with a face lathered Palmolive Classic (Germany) shave stick.

The Colling is my newest SR and I have been refining its edge with a full balsa strop progression after each shave. This was the SR's 4th deployment.

First pass was WTG and went very well. The second was started with a fool's pass. The whiskers were sliced through like they weren't even there! A very rare occurrence.

I stopped after just shaving the RH side of my upper lip. I wanted to compare. I then pulled out my Chinese stainless steel shavette, fitted a new Feather DE half blade, relathered and used this to fool's pass the LH side of my upper lip.

There was no difference in whisker cutting between both SR's in the fool's pass!

full

As far as I'm concerned, this custom made Colling has reached its peak edge refinement. From now on, all it will only need is my normal 0.1μm hanging diamond pasted balsa strop maintenance after each shave.

With this shave completed, I then road in the rain into town, attended the very wet dawn service at the local cenotaph and rode home again in the rain.

Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow Pony
Soap: Stirling Bergamot Lavender
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: Shower, La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 and Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge cologne

Shameless re-post of an earlier picture here. The Stirling is a great soap, but I'll be happy to put it to one side for a while after 3 weeks straight with it. I'm on my way home now. A disappointing selection of whiskies at LGW duty-free, so I'm hoping there's something more interesting at DXB.

If only I had the aftershave ...

Not sure if the black label is the same formula as the blue label but I had the exact same experience with the black label. I binned the soap after 2 or 3 uses. I kept the tub and that's where my only puck of C&S Oxoford&Cambridge now lives :)

as you may have noticed I used the Razorock green puck, I imagine the formula is the same with just diff scents? I don’t load off the puck, I shave off a few pieces and press the soap onto the bowl and the warmth of my fingers soften it. Sometimes I bloom with a bit of warm water before my shower, sometimes I just start lathering.

I concur that it doesn’t give the best cushion or glide. I do think it’s finicky with the amount of water used and it’s more miss than hit for me getting a decent lather. The Fine soaps are much better.

Ive used this soap a few times now and all with the same results, the only reason I havnt binned it yet is my mate keeps raving on about it so I assumed it may of just been me but must be my mates lost the plot

My three best razors without doubt is the Rocca, WR2 and the Lupo and the Rocca may just have pole position, nothing but an incredibly smooth shave every time :)

Pre: Proraso red pre-shave cream
Brush: TF Customs 2 band bulb
Soap: Henri et Victoria - Terre d'Henri
Razor: Ikon SBS,
Blade: Minora #1
After: Alum block, Stray Whisker Balm, Tabac Craftsman After Shave

Decided to only use the open comb side of the razor on the aggressive head orientation for this shave.
Only one bleeder on front of the chin, totally my fault. Touched down a little hard (pulling up ATG) with a really heavy razor and got bitten.:bigtears::nurse::hurting::cry:
Probably asked for it considering the setup. Styptic and TP to the rescue. All good now.

Can't get better at it if you don't step up your game and risk it now and then.

Would have thought you would gone through LAX? I suppose it depends on available flights. You should be able to grab something good at Dubai, Gatwick is not Heathrow on a good day.
