Pre-shave: Hot water, Pears soap
Brush: Troycraft "Opalesque" 28mm AP G5C
Soap: Vintage Yardley
Razor: Blackland Sabre
Blade: Personna GEM
Post-shave: Shower, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+, Oxford & Cambridge cologne
COTD: Mandheling Sumatra

Home again, home again, hippity-hip.

An unalloyed pleasure to come back to this setup on this glorious morning. I've come to grudgingly admit that the Sabre just might possibly deliver a better shave than even my beloved Vector.

This is the L2. Even so, I can't say it feels aggressive as such (maybe you'd need to try it to see how it fits on your Karve scale ;)) but the stubble just magically vanishes in front of it.

I've had the Delorean for several weeks now and I find it goes well with Cloud Blades. I've also use Feather blades which aren't too bad either. Next time I'm going to throw an Astra in to try.

I find with this razor, it seems to work better when held almost perpendicular to your face rather than the traditional 30 degrees.

Thanks, I'll give that a crack

I used @rhodes96 thumb rating to influence purchases this past year and glad I did.
Grecian Horse is a deliciously sweet and grungy dark woody oriental but not too sweet
Full of amber goodness. The Claymore and I are getting to know each others quirks.
Swapping the handle has made a world of difference to shave experience
Great description of Grecian Horse 👍.

Same gear different day. I have the same issue with the Claymore I had with the Rockwell 6S. It is too rigid and I end up missing a spot right in front of the ear (tragus) where there is a divot and I end up with this sharp little side burn. Anyway, have started applying a bit of skin stretching ie: pulling the ear while shaving that area and it worked a treat also forcing me to use the left hand with a DE. With this change in technique and the Giesen & Forsthof handle the Claymore is a keeper

A super busy week with some very enjoyable shaves using some of my favourite gear. The scent and performance from the soap is fantastic and both brushes managed to whip up super lather allowing for an irritation free shave all week.
The Rod SE requires a steeper angle to get a near BBS shave and pairs well with sharper AC blades such as the Titan. The Rocca never fails to deliver supreme shaves and the London Bridge blade feels and performs similar to the famed Minora Stainless.
Finished off with the homebrew splash leaving my face and head refreshed...

Happy Shaves!

Maybe you should do a side-by-side.
I thought of that, but it's not really comparing apples with apples. I doubt if I have the self-discipline necessary to do that kind of comparison, given that the Sabre needs a much steeper shaving angle to work right. Suffice to say, the Vector and the Sabre are definitely both keepers.
