Brush:- Blue Devil - Doral (Native Olive) handle with 26mm AP Shave Co G5C knot
Soap:- Seaforth - Sea-Spice-Lime (with thanks to @JaggardJ for the sample)
Razor:- Gillette Slim L1 @4
Blade:- Treet Platinum (14)

I concur with @TomG, @JaggardJ and all the positive reviews of this soap it is a wonderfully fresh and salty scent
@Holiday - yes; they got that sea-salt note just right. Another soap that does it well is Zingari Man The Watchman.

Shave Result: Stirling Tallow soap needs no introduction just an awesome modern Artisan Brand, lather produced is just rich & creamy medium high density with excellent all round performance. Deep Blue Sea is one of my favourite Cologne style scents and smells fresh, complex & manly and is Wife approved (Bonus), scent strength 6/10. Yaqi Mellon DOC + Treet Classic gave a great DFS with minimal neck irritation.

The Gear:

  • Pre Shave: Suavecito Brushless Shaving Cream
  • Brush: AP Shave Co “Disco” with 22/54 Synbad
  • Soap: Stirling Soap Co - Deep Blue Sea
  • Bowl: Yaqi ABS Black “Duke”
  • Razor: YAQI Mellon DOC Head and Classic Handle
  • Blade: Treet Classic Steel (2)
  • Astringent Splash: TN Dickinsons Witch Hazel with Menthol & T.Tree oil
  • Balm: Lucky Tiger Vanishing Cream
  • After Shave: Nivea Men Deep Comfort
  • Moisturiser (a bit later): Nivea Men Creme (Face-Body-Hands)

Treet is tugging a bit but have been mostly cleaning up after straight so not an accurate account of its mileage but overall a good blade in my comfort zone and good value for money
Playing with photo editing because I don't have a tub of Seaforth Sea Spice Lime "Yet!" but definitely on the wishlist now :)

Pre-shave: Hot flannel, Pears soap
Brush: Troycraft "Vazon Forest" 28mm AP G5C
Soap: Vintage Yardley
Razor: Blackland Vector
Blade: Schick Proline
Post-shave: Shower, TND witch hazel, homebrew moisturiser, La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF50+ Invisible Fluid, Oxford & Cambridge cologne
COTD: Elephant Hills, India

Exactly the same as yesterday. It is not possible to improve on Yardley for a perfect shave, and I've unashamedly posted the same picture. Don't be surprised if I do the same again tomorrow.

The good thing about shaving is that no matter how much of a work of art you manage to make of it, you'll always have to do it again tomorrow.

Soap:- Seaforth - Sea-Spice-Lime (with thanks to @JaggardJ for the sample)
Razor:- Tatara Masamune Nodachi
Blade:- Treet Platinum (2)

It would be splitting hairs (pun intended) to compare the Nodachi and Blackbird for overall performance but then why compare when I can just enjoy both :)

Happy Shaves P&C
