Brush:- Grizzly Bay w/ Fanchurian knot
Soap:- Moonsoaps - Union (& Frostdrops)
Razor: Karve - Overlander
Blade: Gillette - 5 o’clock yellow
Moisturiser: Crew - Facebalm (+SPF 15)

Hotel Shave as I’m away with work at the moment.

Moon Soaps - Union never seeps to disappoint. Of all the soaps I own, this is the lather that I prefer the most.

Keen to hear from anyone that has used “Moonsoaps - Old Skool”? How does it smell compared to other barbershops smells like Oaken - Batavia Barber, or Stirling Soaps - Barbershop.

Really good shave. Looking forwards to getting home at the end of next week and trying out the SR that Rbsceu has loaned me.

Big thanks to @bald as for an excellent tutorial on SR honing today and this razor, no idea what it is but shaved beautifully and has an engraving English Sheffield Shield. Had an amazingly smooth shave on the cheeks and growing in confidence.

pushed it a little further with a little pass under the chin / upper neck, then started moving towards my chin when I realised how confident I felt and decided it was now wise to stop and enjoy the win so far

really starting to enjoy the SR shave and cant wait to start honing

finished off with the amazingly smooth WR2 for a bbs finish 🤘

Shave Report: The triple milled soap is hard but I was able to scrape a small portion off the puck (0.4gm) and press it down into my bowl with a few drops of water, the generated lather was a disappointing Santa Claus type lather that did not resemble my previous test lathers, my fault and should have re-started with a larger soap portion, so cannot draw any performance conclusions other than it did feel slick enough. To me the scent is as described a clean light Sandalwood with some minty herbaceous undertones from the Eucalyptus and Tea Tree oils, scent strength 4/10. Despite my lather not been up to scratch I was still able to get a wonderful smooth clean DFS, the Mamba70 head with the Ti Pillar handle felt a great combo.

  • Soap: Defense Shaving Soap - Sandalwood

Tonight's nick lesson: Don't get distracted thinking of the day's events at work while shaving, especially ATG on the Adams Apple with a straight.
