Ooohhh, that one turned out nice! Mallee burl hybrid
24 - 26mm, depending on the knot.
The stabilized burl surface was coated with a chameleon Blue/Violet/Gold over a diamond dark blue resin.
I like how the blue resin mixture in the knot socket slumped into the glittered clear to form a more interesting shaped transition between the clear and the colours on top. Some of the glue plug is visible through a small clear window also. The glue plug can be coloured blue to lessen the visual contrast and continue the blue theme.

By the way, after nearly 7 months of waiting, my first batch of 15 Brown Mallee burl chunks are now stabilized and ready for making into custom burl/resin hybrid brushes, just like this one.

got the G7 and one called 'Soft' all i know the 'soft' brush is hand made and came highly recommended by a forum member

Looks good, but I would like it more without the bubbles. Super-clear would have been amazing.

Not bad for leftovers though!

Yeah the bubbles are a mystery. They don't seem to mar the polished exterior surface at all, but it's impossible to place bubbles only in areas that won't be carved when turning. The pressure pot had developed a leak through a cheap tap that was slowly letting air pressure escape, thus the likely cause of air bubbles reforming whilst in the pot. This tap has been replaced now with a gas rated tap and increased the air pressure up to 68psi, so not expecting that situation again. The resin in the cups was getting really hot by the time I was pouring them into a second mold, so there also could have been a wild temperature imbalance between blue and clear by this time, causing some boiling of the clear before going under pressure in the pot. If nothing else, they're a bit of a novelty and can hardly be seen.
Luckily when looking at the handle with the naked eye, they look like glitter, and are barely perceptible, as opposed to looking at magnified photos on a screen.
My making process now includes examining handles by close-up hi res photos for flaws now, as it seems better than the old magnifying lamp I previously used. Much easier to see areas that need more polishing, or back to lathe for more sanding/polishing.
