Razor: Vintage Gillette Fatboy - revamp by North Shore Razors
Blade: Astra Platinum
Brush: Vintage Victoria badger
Lather: Sudsy Soapery Citrus & Bay
Post: B&M Arctique AS splash
Fragrance: CK Eternity Aqua EDT

Since summer hasn't read the memo that it is over (36º C), I figured a good splash of cooling menthol wouldn't be out of place on a day like this :cool::cool:

That's heavy Jason!! I hope everything goes well and gets back on track for your family.
And I'm caught in the middle too for 35 years of abuse and it is very heavy, my counsellor told me is never be a shame of abuse and to tell the truth and stop hiding in the dark.
To be honest, I'm feeling a little bit better sharing my pain as advise by my counsellor while I'm on anti-depression medication for PTSD, I wanted to make sure that no one on P&C is suffering from abuse or hiding there shame in the dark for so long because there is help out there, since I've been through for 35 years of abuse from my father and that I'm not afraid to try and reach out and get help from Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service (VVCS) as part of the Vietnam Veterans Families Counselling.

Pre: Myrsol emulsion (on the rigth half of the face)
razor: VA3 maggard
blade: Astra Green
soap: MdC Agrumes
splash: APr Lighting ridge

I was pretty unfair regarding this razor. It do a pretty good job!
I am starting to get convinced that the emulsion only helps me with soaps that does not to their best on the skin. Of course with the above combination of Emulsion + MdC + APR, is hard to not finish a shave with a much better skin that before the shave. Soon will the time to review this soap will came :)

some lather

Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
Razor: Maggard OC + RR Bamboo handle
Blade: Personna Blue (1)
Scuttle/Bowl/Mug: Bloom shaving bowl
Soap: Squadron Soap Ace
Post: Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil & Proraso white balm

Received the soap today and thought I'd best give it a try and first impressions are very high. Love the masculine scent profile, performance wise it lathers quite easily and adds lots of cushioing to the shave which is what I was aiming for when choosing the OC. Top stuff and can't wait to try some other scents  Decided to try the Personna and it's a handy little blade, smooth with slight resistance around the moustache but I'll put that down to the OC razor. I can see myself adding more of these blades to my collection once my 5pk runs out. I forgot how pleasant a shaver the OC was and out all the Maggard offerings I'd have to say the OC is my favourite, followed closely by the Slant head. Affordable and consistent performers! A really enjoyable SOTD (y) Have yourself a cracking Friday and here's to some more happy shaves!

Where is that ban stick!

Wash your mouth out heretic. Just wait till you try those vintage blades and experience the joys of old school (y)
Just did with a vintage whisky. Felt drunk, went out and slept with a 20y.o.
Verdict, she said the moderns were more efficient and with less chatter. ;)

But at 20 - what would she know! :ROFLMAO:

Maggard V3A MR11 / Rapira PLX
Vie-Long 04382
Dettol Cool
Nivea Originals AS Splash / Body Shop Skin Mechanics AS Gel
This was my last shave with Dettol Cool shaving cream, as mentioned in the finished products sticky. It was my first ever mentholated shave cream, which provided a nice change over the last couple of Summers. The Vie-Long 04382 is a good little bowl lathering brush - It's on the floppy side, but with great flow-through. Capable of creating a great lather, very efficiently.

Have a great Friday everyone !!!

Prep:
Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Baum.be pre-shave gel
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Boar
Soap: Fine Italian Citrus
Razor: UFO Goliath / ATT SE1
Blade: Schick Proline P-30 (4)
Post: Alt Innsbruck Emulsion
Scent: Alt Innsbruck Cologne

First experience with a Fine soap. It apparently has the same soap base as Tabac, and the lather I generated seemed consistent with this claim. Very creamy and slick.
Not quite the residual slickness that I typically get from Tabac, but it was the first time I had lathered this soap, so it may take a little experimentation to dial it in. It had a very nice post-shave - another positive.
Three passes and a buff or two to achieve BBS - a terrific shave.
I had acquired the Alt Innsbruck Emulsion as its ingredients have common elements with my two favourite post shave products - Myrsol Emulsion and Thayers SuperHazel (Medicated). The Alt Innsbruck product is a thin clear gel, and a small amount goes a long way. After a slight alcohol sting (similar to the Thayers Superhazel), it is very soothing and leaves a smooth moisturised layer on the face, similar to Myrsol Emulsion. I suspect this is due to the lanolin content in both products. I suspect it would be provide excellent protection from the elements in challenging conditions. The scent is similar to the Alt Innsbruck cologne, but has some sharper notes, I suspect due to the active ingredients such as camphor.
A final thought - is it just me, or is the Fine Italian Citrus soap scent somewhat similar to Arko?

Razor: Vintage Gillette British NEW head on a Weber classic handle
Blade: Polsilver 'Brown' (3)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Lightning Ridge shaving soap
Aftershave: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Lightning Ridge splash
Fragrance: Australian Private Reserve (APR) Lightning Ridge EDP

Summer is still here? Last gasps of summer? Another 'not General Ledge' scent?

Maybe all off the above but gee whiz - this is a great end to the week! Friday 13th unlucky? Not in the 'Lucky Country' with a shave like this :)

Razor: Rex Ambassador (3)
Blade: Feather (1)
Brush: TF "The Roman". 28mm
Soap: Penhaligon's
Aftershave: Proraso Lozione

This was my maiden use of Tony's, The Roman and to say I was impressed is an understatement. Third shave with the Ambassador and a brand new Feather. I was impressed when I used a Gillette Platinum in the Ambassador but the Feather takes the shave to another level. How much better can things get?

Nice shave :)

If you ever want an affordable Aventus clone, without the $400 price tag then DUA Fragrances does a GCMS clone/recreation that is very good by all accounts. I'm not sure which specific batch they dupe but at the price it's worth considering if you like the Aventus fruit thing.

This outfit was the same group that was doing the perfumes for 'The Club' for a while there, their Creed Millesime clone was almost identical to one of the original batches.

I'll check it out. I didn't think this type of scent would be for me, but it's not to bad. I like it.

Any plans on bringing Coolabah back when the seasons turn (or if they stay summer forever).

It may come back next year in January, time will tell.

There are a couple of bottles of splash available on the website, the soap sold out in Australia and internationally almost immediately though :)

Roam is back and while B&M have superlative shaving properties, I normally don't gel with the scents much. I call most of them walrus farts - interesting, unusual but not appealing. This is not the case with Roam which I ADORE. I was so glad to find a tub again. Its rough leather pairs brilliantly with Reef Point Aviator AS and Gucci Guilty Absolute EdP. I'm a manly man today...
