Sabbatical For 2022?

Been doin a lot of thinking on this. Am extremely happy and content with my gear as it does everything I could ever ask

but....

I'm currently enjoying the Hawk SE which has been generously passed on by @Holiday and I definitely love the shaves it gives.. using it a bit longer to get used to SE and the Hawk as I got a swap coming up with @Razor Burn and his vector

Thinking logically, if this shaves as good as its supposed to u know I'll have one in SS soon as they are available

Question... if u know u want to buy something before the sabbatical starts but can't due to supply, can u purchase it soon as available if your participating?

No sabbatical for me but all in moderation - oooh did @CraigE just drop some aftershaves and @TroyTools turned a new brush - oohooh a new shiny razor with @Errol 's endorsement
There's always going to be the risk of those temptations, and I nearly fell off the wagon a few times this year. Right now it's easy, there's only 3 weeks left in the year. I'm out for next year because I'm refocusing my soaps, but I might be back on in as 2023 if I go overboard too much with the New Year. This year's break has saved me from a heap of purchases that would have been misjudged and ended up on the BST.

I share your dilemma as was hoping to wait for the SS Vector but no signs its resupplying anytime soon so went a different direction solving my SE itch. Similar with the Blue Devil balm that looks to be out of stock

Seeing as there is no longer a P&C endorsed Sabbatical I'd say its up to the individual on how strict they want to be as some might go with no purchases or any kind, others allow swaps, charity acquisitions and some might grab a new item and keep it locked away for the year...

Nobody's going to know either way unless some cheeky bugger questions it during a SOTD post which kinda reminds me why we no longer have endorsed Sabbaticals.

Shoot me a PM and I'll look to get the Vector out your way before the holidays and hope to see you on the 2022 Sabbatical bus... ;)

I remember the posts from a few years back when some new APR products released, a member was on official sabbatical and got caught purchasing new products.

Just in case anyone thinks they don’t have too many soaps, here’s your future!

The balm did not last long at all. I will be getting more in the new year.

In the meantime David Richardson has some of them on his site.www.thewetshavingco.com

At the moment I am happy with my current collection, though with the arrival of the Blutt I have to make a conscious effort to rotate my razors. I've made up my mind not to buy any more soaps as at my rate of usage my small-ish collection of 15 soaps would last me a very long time. So I'm on sabbatical for soaps for as long as they last at least.

I was keen on the Blackland Era for a while, but the Blutt firmly pushed that out of my mind. I think I would get a Vector (SS or Ti) as soon as one becomes available again... or if any member here wishes to part with his, consider me first in line. Though I better not hold my breath it seems.

15 soaps and calling it quits?

You need MOAR SOAPS!

There is no such thing as quit time, as the rabbit hole is never ending.

I’m happy enough with all my gear that I can say I don’t feel tempted to purchase anymore razors, brush and soaps, so I’m most likely going sabbatical next year.

I’ve currently got 2 razors (Vector Ti and WR2 Ti), 3 brushes (DG B13, B14 and TNS M3), 14 soaps with matching aftershaves and I couldn’t be happier with all of it.

I’ve still got a couple things to throw on the BST and I might pickup another Saponificio Varesino scent but I’m pretty much done for the foreseeable future.
