AusFarce or AusFantastic?

And attempted delivery cards! When I don't use 'parcel collect', since I live in a block of units, they simply put a card in the letter box by the road rather than coming up the stairs. They must have had complaints so they started putting a card under the door but not knocking. A couple of months ago I was standing near the door when I heard a rustling and saw a card appearing under the door. I rushed and opened the door, the postman jumped about a meter in the air and nearly fell down the stairs then stated saying 'I knocked, honestly" and looked a bit shaken. Since that day the card is left in front of the door and still no knock, I get home and ask if my wife has been in all day and if she heard a knock. They don't want to deliver and are too scared to put the card under the door. So, drive to town, pay to park and wait in line while someone orders a passport.

Oh yeah! I know that scenario.

We had an issue with a parcel claimed to have been delivered. Fortunately we have CCTV covering the front door and could prove non-delivery. Of course then it is the seller who has to complain...

Way too early to worry. I have had a few parcels from the UK and the same thing, a big rush in the UK and then nothing for a week or more. Remember AusPost don't work the weekend, and this is a long weekend, but also they don't seem to scan items on arrival at customs which is where I think they stay for a few working days. Just when you start to think it must be lost it will pop up in Granville. From there, if you're lucky, they will continue in the right direction unless it happens to be another weekend, which it often seems to be. Watching tracked AusPost parcels might be one of the most frustrating experiences!

they actually do work weekends. they may not deliver to most areas but i have done airport pickups for them on weekends plenty of times. im not a huge of ap but freight movements are happening 24/7 even if it is just to avoid storage fees.

The razor that @58FB has kindly offered me was mailed on the 20th from Vic.,have tracked it to Granville on Wednesday and nothing since. Will arrive tomorrow, hopefully, but tracking is not showing anything.
Have ordered gear from Sydney, and it was sent to Brisbane facility before being sent here, took over a week.Last year I ordered some Martial Art training gear.Same day, some from W.A.,Melbourne and U.K. Melbourne stuff took ten days. Two weeks after order date the gear from U.K. arrived and three days later the W.A. shipment.

Quicker to get stuff from Britain than our own bloody country.

My computer is NEXT to my front door.
Time and again I have watched the delivery truck pull up, the guy put the ”attempted delivery” card in the postbox, and floor it down the road.
He never even LOOKS at the front door. :banghead:

Yeah, I have seen the same thing! With the number of parcels the posties are expected to deliver I imagine it is impossible to do their job properly, maybe they are not to blame.

Yeah. I agree.
I don't hate the individual. Just the clearly broken system.

Ditto, and the system is clearly broken when the major courier companies can tend to do it better ...

When I was on holidays over the festive period I caught the postman writing out cards twice when I was gardening.... He said that they're not supposed to leave their bikes unattended.... different posties will take different levels of risk when it comes to leaving their bikes unattended I guess - I've noticed they "accept" more risk if the mail originated in Australia and don't tend to accept any risk for overseas deliveries :(

This package is going to SA....

Australia Post is beyond hopeless.

Wow
You'd think they'd up their game, if for no other reason than because it's costing them heaps to ship them so inefficiently.
It can't be sustainable with the current model (or lack thereof).

Similar thing happened to a friend of mine. I advised her that her parcel was shown on tracking that it was with driver to be delivered and since she was home there would be no worries. A few hours latter and the tracking showed parcel unable to be delivered. Gave her a ring and asked what happened and she popped down stairs only to find a card advising to collect the parcel Monday? Pure laziness or incompetence from the courier. Then you make the effort to line up and they interigate you, asking for this and that. A broken system and no wonder the business is losing $$$

This particular send was to a friend in SA so while it is inconvenient and irritating the impact of the delay is limited to that, what really gets me is I send a lot of packages out as part of my business and time after time I get customers whose outcome expectations are shattered due to the failure of Australia Post to do their job. The tracking offered by Australia Post is piecemeal and the postage costs are no way justified by the level of service or performance they offer. Additionally, unless you are spending over $5,000 a month with them there is no discount for business which speaks volumes to why they are so unprofitable in the commercial sector. I mostly use couriers for larger deliveries as reliability is essential when it comes to the logistics of shipping to and from suppliers.

Most people that have posted to me, know I insist upon details of an authority to leave in a safedrop location be included as part of the address.
This location was agreed upon by a regional manager in person, after consultation of options upon the property.
Despite this being agreed to in person by a senior staff member, with a guarantee of not being carded again, I've had multiple cards and several parcels go walkabouts from what I assume is the lazy pricks leaving the parcel on the front doorstep, which is elevated and highly visible from the street, with easy access.

I have nil tolerance for AusFarce!

Fed Ex next time

As bad as Ausfarce is/can be I HATE when somebody uses Fastaway couriers as they're the worst. So much so that I am reluctant to buy again from sellers that use them as their customer service sucks and operating hours are practically non existent  Just read the reviews for the Canberra franchise if you're in for some laughs

I was just getting over the trauma of a Faust-way [not a typo] delivery and now this...

... back to the therapist for me

Haha sorry Mark. I'm yet to have the pleasure of interacting with the local driver as all reports I've read say he's an absolute delight :inpain: Luckily I've only dealt with them a couple of times and would rather use AusFarce any day of the week, despite their many many issues :bag:
