why pay for a whole new razor when the handle fits what i have?

Judging by my old Edwin Jagger DE89 the heads look similar but shave very different. Much smoother and closer for my money. Also why mate chromed zumak with stainless steel? I say keep it a class act all the way.

One pass night touch up to try the TMBR from JohnnyGoodSir - an Aussie artisan I've been keen to get my hands on a sample of his soap.

Thanks to @MrT for this sample, good man! I took a bit out of the zip lock bag and lathered in a bowl with it. Perfect.

This is an example of an Aussie artisan who has one soap, made in one scent, and he's NAILED it. In performance and scent.

From the website - red my doing

TMBR shaving soap – a remarkably plush, lathering shave soap specifically formulated for straight blade shavers.
Johnny Goodsir’s shave soap combine the scents of whisky & wood with the healing properties of bentonite clay, lanolin, tallow with castor, coconut, olive oils. Cedarwood & Cardamom are the bass note of the soap’s uplifting scent.

I think anyone would like this easy to get on with, laid back, well composed scent. It's comfortable like an old friend, not too overpowering or weak. The lather is great too, and I see what Stills meant that is just melts off the blade under hot water. I wonder if the 'specifically for straights' has anything to do with that. I'm surprised it worked for you Stills, using a DE. The lather was lighter than the Spanish stuff I've been on, but it didn't effect the shave.

First class stuff, anyone who has used Valor should get some of this to exonerate mullumbimby.

Great write up @Nonick! I reckon you ought to put it into a new thread/review for others to find this great Aussie soap. [emoji106][emoji4]

Done.. to fire up discussion which this product deserves, and steer people looking in the right direction.

Just did a Cut and Paste…. hope that's OK on this forum… snigger
If ever a moment deserved a smiley...

The Berkeley had its first fun today. Surprisingly for me it holds plenty of lather. With the 37c i usually only need 2 passes so i rang out the lather after the 2nd pass and there was easily enough for a 3rd if required. Was very soft, softer than my synth and light years from a boar (may take a bit of getting used to). Great little face lather brush will def remain in my rotation.

Brush: Omega 31025
Pre-Shave: Occams Original
Soap/Cream: Ingrams (thanks @Nightguard )
Razor: Weber PH
Blade: Personna Blue (4)
After-shave: Proraso Green

Thanks to a savage electrical storm that saw to the absence of my electricity supply, internet connection, newest rescue dog, etc., for 24 hours from 1:30pm yesterday, I had a cold shave in the dark at 6am this morning. So I thought if I had to shave cold then I'd go the menthol to really drive the chill home. Ingrams lathered impeccably and all-in-all a fine shave. I might try this cold shave thing again, but I admit to it feeling weird as I have never, ever done one before…in my almost 30-year shaving career. Felt oddly like I was readying myself in the trenches the dawn before going over the top.

Share your superior kit with the enemy and convert them from the dreaded cartridge and canned goo ;)

Brush: French Tickler (a.k.a. Plisson L'Occy)
Soap/Cream: Jabonman Oriental Breeze
Razor: Rocket HD
Blade: Polsilver
After-shave: Captains Choice Bay Rum (thanks @filobiblic )

I'll talk about the French Tickler on the Plisson thread, suffice it to say it was good. Very good. First time using a Rocket HD. Thanks to @Mark1966 who is lending me this little classic to trial towards purchase. Must say shave #1 with it sees it parked near my Weber. I'll see if it deviates from this good form over the next week - for a pre-2015 buy. Highlight here was the Jabonman Oriental Breeze and Captains Choice Bay Rum. They went so well together. Befoe this morning's shave I would have rated this Jabonman soap in my top five. Now it's definitely in my top three! Phenomenal stuff. Cpt's Choice smell so-so in the bottle but does well for and on your skin. I like it!!! Big thanks to @filobiblic for smuggling it into Australia for me.
