...with a Timor

Brush:
Simpson Wee Scot
Soap: Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge
Razor: Standard
Blade: Solingen Timor (thanks @Draco Noir )
After: Thayers

Feeling a little adventurous I decided to try a Timor blade. According to the blurb these blades are ice tempered making them harder and longer lasting.
Priced on the higher scale, on par with Feathers. Both come in plastic dispensers with 10 blades.
My initial impression is that this blade is not Feather sharp. Very forgiving and comfortable but my 3-day growth put up a fight.
Tomorrow I will pop it into a slant.

Pre: GFT Lime Skin Food
Cream: TOBS Sandalwood
Brush: Omega 48
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Feather
Post: Alum, WH, SH Green Tobacco ASB

Shave was pretty good, almost finishing up my TOBS Sandalwood.
TOBS sandalwood has a really great scent. Does irritate my skin a little, but still bearable.
Great shave overall, let's get ready for tomorrow.

Fantastic B&W picture @Lifes a Peach!

Brush: Semogue 830
Razor: Rockwell 6s - Plate 5
Blade: Treet Carbon
Soap: Wickhams Bay Rum
A/S: PAA Alcohol Free Bay Rum

An excellent shave today. Plate 5 on the Rockwell is the best so far, similar feel to the Weber PH IMO. Great lather and scent from the Wickhams soap and as always the PAA A/S is just a great finish to any shave.

Preshave: Proraso Red
Razor: Standard
Blade: Gillette Nacet
Brush: Antiga Barbearia de Bairro Boar
Soap: Reef Point Dragons Blood
Post Shave: Nivea Balm and 4711 AS
Three pass shave; Couple of firsts today. The Nacet blade which worked very well for me. Sharp and smooth with no irritation or cuts. Agrees very well in the Standard razor. Also first use of the Reef Point soap. Performance is excellent. Great lather and provides ample protection during a full three pass shave. The incense is strong before lathering but you get the vanilla and some other scents once you have lathered up. The scent is strong and remains so during the shave. Very relaxing shave.

After Auspost failed to get my Wee Scot to me before my trip away in April, I haven't used it. Today I took pity on it and brought it out for a run. Wow, talk about punching about your weight. With enough high quality lather for three passes plus, no problems. I'm glaring at my Duke 2 who required some encouragement to bring out the full amount of lather on the third pass! On the down side, it's got quite a bit of scratch, enough to have me think I had bought a Pure Badger version, but they don't exist. I guess it's going to take some breaking in!

Brush: Wee Scot
Soap: Shaver Heaven - Arctic Mango
Blade: Tanifuji 6/8 Full Hollow
Post: Thayers & PAA - Alfin

SOTD (19/4/16 - Paris, France)

Razor:
Gillette Sensor Excel
Blade: Gillette Sensor Excel Cart (2)
Brush: Muhle Travel Synthetic
Soap/Cream: D R Harris Arlington Shave Stick
Aftershave: Floid Vigoroso

Nothing much to report - shave the same as yesterday really.

Nice view while I have breakfast though - leafy courtyard in Paris - cat sitting on the wall in the morning sun

[Crappy iPhone pic though]

Lather Magnifique´

Brush:
Savile Row @shavetheman LE edition
Soap: @Barrister & Mann Fougére Aromatique
Razor: Merkur 37C slant
Blade: Solingen Timor (2)
After: Thayers & Sterling Sharp Dressed Man

Second shave with the Timor blade and better suited to the Merkur in my opinion.
Sadly reaching the bottom of the soap. @Barrister & Mann 's version of Fougére is the best. Never to be made again :(

Brush: Omega Boar
Soap: SV 70th Anniversary sample
Razor: EJ DE89
Blade: Voskhod (1)
After: Alum, Myrsol Formula "C"

Another great shave this evening. Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, but I feel like my technique has turned a corner these last few shaves.
Maybe the Voskhod's just agree with my face?
Did the 3 pass (W,X,A) tonight, very little irritation on the neck, and a happy camper.
The new Voskhod was very nice! Don't want to push these too far I think!

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Shavemac 177
Soap: saponificio Varesino 70th anniversary
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, Thayer WH, SH green tobacco asb

Again, shavemac 177 delivered an excellent face lathering experience with the SV.

Down side today, is that I got cocky with the slant. Way too quick and way too rough. In return it bit me quite a few times. Really have to use the slant with care.

Finished off and the alum, WH and the asb. Stung a little, but no massive razor burns. Can't wait till my Spanish fleet of myrsols arrive.

I found Vokshods to be the perfect blade for me. Sharp, long lasting (4 shaves) and very forgiving with your technique. My other go to are Feathers however those are a lot less forgiving of a poor lather and technique.

Brush: ShaveMac 22mm 2-band
Soap: Eufros Premium Shave Soap GEA (by Jabonman)
Razor: Leresche #77
Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra [1]
After-shave: Eufros GEA milk

Perhaps the best shave of the year for me. Truly stunning.
This All-Star line up arrived in the past day or two so decided to take them all for a spin.
The razor is unbelievably comfortable; no blade feel whatsoever (crazy, right?). I took it carefully, but it's looks were deceiving. It's as aggressive as the R41 but with no feeling of the blade on the skin. Absolutely no weepers or even some scraped skin. I now understand why it has the reputation it does amongst those who have used one.
The soaps by Jabonman have always been amongst my favourites and his latest version is no exception. The lather was excellent and would have contributed to the fine shave with the razor. What a scent! With citrus, cedar, neroli this GEA meant to be similar to a classic French fragrance (but I'm not qualified to compare - perhaps someone else can help?). It does smell wonderful though. Just a little bit of the milk ASB goes a loooong way. After 6 hours I can still smell it. Shaves like these are a real treat.

Happy days mate!

It is incredible when you make a breakthrough like that - trust that it is a real milestone

Brush - Shavemac Custom (25x50mm fan 2-band)
Soap - Stirling Barbershop
Blade - Permasharp (4)
Razor - Rockwell 6S #1
Post Shave - Thayers & Myrsol F/Extra

Last of the shaves on setting 1... I can safely say that I'd be happy if I could only choose this razor for the rest of my life (only if I HAD to choose one).

Shavemac is going fantastic. So much lather stored in the brush, rather than on it like the synthetic. It just retains the lather in it's grasp, but happy to give it up when requested. Starting to notice a few of the tips are curling over. Will be interesting to see if it does develop the hooked tips of legend...

Shavemac 2 band and Stirling. I can only imagine... Is that nirvana?
