Hey interested in that omega brush any feedback?
Hey @Young Buck i have only used it 3 times so far its getting better with every lather, so far its behaving much like a semogue 1800 but just a little more scrub firm it will probably soften up quite a bit more as i use it, its going to be my travel brush so far very happy with it especially the handle its very comfortable to hold.
Is it my favourite boar brush not even close, i will report further as it beds in.
Regards
cranky

Pre-Shave - Shower & Musgo Real Classic Scent Pre-Shave Oil Soap
Brush: - Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic Badger v2.0 Fiber 27/52mm
Lather: - Tabac Soap
Razor: - Muhle R89 with a iKon Bamboo Handle
Blade: - Polsilver Super Iridium (4)
Post Shave: - Alum Block / The Stray Whisker Aftershave Balm
Whisky: - Sullivans Cove Single Cask French Oak - made in Tasmania

A quick 2 pass shave tonight follow by a good belt of Tasmania whisky after my shave, because I won't have time to shave in the morning.

The Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic Badger v2.0 fiber is amazing because the tips are very soft feels like a real Super Badger not a Silvertip the fiber feels luxury-soft, it's very dense, easy to make and apply lather also pretty strong backbone for a 52mm loft and I find this brush perform far better than a RazoRock Plissoft Synthetic 24/57mm I've own.

The new Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic doesn't splay too much or too floppy while face lathering it's almost right in the middle kinda just right against the RazoRock Plissoft Synthetic which is very good, however IMO it doesn't face lather to well in a bulb shape which can be a bit difficult if you know you're way around using a bulb rather than a fan shape during face lathering otherwise bowl lathering is the way to go for a bulb shape. If Simpsons could make a Chubby 2 Synthetic v2.0 fiber in a fan shape knot this brush would become a real winner for wet shavers across the globe, I'm thinking about giving up my RazoRock Plissoft Synthetic because I really like the new version of Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic v2.0 fibre will see because I do like RazoRock Plissoft is a great travel brush.

If you're asking me is it worth buying a Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic Badger v2.0 fiber rather than a RazoRock Plissoft (or a monster), Maggard Razors Synthetic, Fine Accoutrements Synthetic and a Stirling Synthetic, IMOHO which I cannot say and is not for me to judge or decide which synthetic perform better because everybody is different some people agree and some don't agree. All I can say is you either buy it and try it, and if you don't like it you can always sell it easy peasy at the end of the day I like it and I'm going to keep it.

PS. My next shave on Tuesday is the Muhle R41 with a iKon Bamboo Handle I'm looking forward to this ;)

Glad you are enjoying the Chubby syth @SpeedyPC - and I'm jealous of the Sullivan's Cove - enjoy!

@Mark1966 that's my last bottle and I better not waste it to soon :unsure:o_O:confused:

Next time you go travelling you will have to check our the Duty Free. Most is not too flash but a special can get you a nice single malt at a decent price !

@Mark1966 I bought two bottle in Tasmania before the price went up sky high, I'm sure you already knew about the price went up about 4 years ago  which is very hard to come by and it's a very very good whisky and have you tried it ?

Sword: Schick L-Type
Suds: Palmolive / Omega S
Salve: Dickinson's Witch Hazel / Nivea ASB

Supremely pleasurable shave! Every time I revisit the Euro Palmolive I'm always blown away. Ease of use, slickness, scent - all top-shelf! And given that they cost £0.49 they're a strong contender for the best overall shaving soap. If I weren't such a hipster, I'd probably be happy to only use Palmolive. The one downside is that the post-shave isn't the absolute best on the market.

Pre-Shave - Shower & Almond Oil
Brush - Plissoft Syn
Lather: - TOBS Avocado
Razor: - DE 89
Blade: - Astra Platinum (4)
Post Shave: - Alum Block / Witch Hazel/ Proraso Menthol.

Great shave for a Sunday night, Probably last shave for the blade. WTG, XTG and XTG other direction. Minimal skin irritation and ready for the first day of work, which im sure we all dislike.

Not the Sullivan's Cove. I was at a conference which included a tasting at the Lark Cellar Door in Hobart, and a 100ml bottle - nice conference :)

Had a bottle of their gin years ago, and found it quite harsh.

@Mark1966 - was at a conference in Hobart about 10 years back at Wrest Point. Strolled down to the wharfs and had some excellent fish & chips, and stopped in at the Lark Cellar Door on way back. Was sampling the various spirits, and the Owner/Founder burst into the place and said "Drinks are on the house", as he'd just won a Trophy at the World Whisky Comp. Can't remember which one - maybe London or San Francisco. Anyway, I was a no-show for the next day of the Conference....

The Lark? Interesting

Great timing!

This was the sort of conference where you got the notes on an iPad. You keep the iPad ...

The best restaurants every night and some amazing speakers. Invitation only and very expensive but they wanted the organisation I was chairing at the conference - so we got it for half price. I can tell you there is some money sloshing around the financial services world.

Nice. I was at a Technical conference, so not as swish, but still good fun. Do you attend Diggers and Dealers?

Pre: GFT Lime Skin Food
Brush: Wolfwhisker Ubersoft II
Soap: Dr Jon's Anne Bonny
Razor: iKon B1 Slant
Blade: PSI
Post: Alum, witch hazel, Ogallala Lime and Peppercorn Bay Rum

The Wolfwhiskers mangled the soap, produced a slick thick lather that gave me much glide and sensory pleasures. I am not sure what a true bay rum should smell like, as the only bay rum items I have have lime in them, perhaps you guys who own the Dr Jons Anne Bonny and say Mike's/Stirling Bay Rum can chime in a little on this? I really like the clove and possible the bay leaves I am getting? Very fantastic scent this bay rum, I never thought of trying it not until I saw Dr Jon's Anne Bonny. I am keen to get Mike's or Stirling's. Although this is a great lather, it is still a notch lacking when compared to tallow. But it still gave me much required protection and slickness, just not as comfortable as a tallow soap. I don't think I am a vegetarian person, I love blue steaks, so I think my skin naturally prefers tallow soaps.

Razor is amazing, it's funny how couple of months ago I am so scared of this slant and it used to not give me very pleasurable shaves. I almost wanted to sell the slant head off, what a fool I was back then. Now it has become my preferred shaving razor, and with the help of the Tallow Soaps, I can use it as a daily. Ogallala Ogallala Ogallala.

Razor: Gillette Fatboy (5)
Blade: Dorco Prime (2)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Phoenix & Beau - Spitfire
Aftershave: Barberry Coast Shaving Co - Havana
Cologne: Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac

Sensational.

Have a great week all

Paladin Falstaff
Fatip Grande

Crown King Sacre Bleu
Aqua Velva AS

A couple of days stubble to take down with the Fatip. Just got this soap in a trade and it's very nice. Seems to bit creamier than regular PAA.

Soap: PAA Deja Fougere
Razor: R41 on OSS handle
Blade: PSI (2)
Post: Alum, Myrsol Antesol

A little bite on my neck from too much pressure, but aside from that an incredibly smooth shave with zero irritation. The R41 gives the closest shave I get. The only downside is I doubt I'll need to shave again for a while. The soap (thanks @silver) lathered well and was very slick, although I'm still wondering how it is called a fougere.

Me too [emoji17]
While vintage Simpson's may be on the expensive side, other manufacturers vintage brushes can be had for a fraction of the cost. There was a vintage boots the chemist brush (probably manufactured by one of the big companies) on eBay uk which went for a song last week.

No problems, hope you liked it. So I am not the only one that wondered how is this a fougere! Didn't quite liked the scent myself.
