Pre: Musgo Real Lime Oil Soap, Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Super Badger
Soap: B&M Seville
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Feather (2)
Post: Myrsol Antesol and Emulsion
Cologne: Penhaligons Endymion

Headed out for a meal this evening with friends, and had time for a shave beforehand.
First spin with the B&M Seville. The B&M soaps are just so consistently good - lathered easily, nice citrusy barbershop fragrance, and great glide and cushioning. The Chubby is really loosening up now, and holding loads of lather. A few weepers on the neck as I was rushing a wee bit, but all up a DFS with very little irritation. The Endymion cologne was a perfect finishing touch (and the Tue night crayfish special at The Left Bank wasn't half bad either).

Pre-Shave: Shower
Razor: Edwin Jagger Kelvin
Blade: Personna Platinum
Soap/Cream: Saponificio Varesino - Felce Aromatica

Post-Routine: hot rinse, alum, cold rinse, splash

Not a proper soap review as I'm really bad at writing anything, but I will do my best...

First shave with Saponificio Varesino - Felce Aromatica. On my goodness! Dabrock from B&B was right when he said this hard soap would lather just when you look at them. He was right. The soap exploded with lather seconds after I started loading the brush. (People are saying Haslinger is even better with that - now I cannot wait to try them) I used probably a bit too much water so bubbles weren't as small as they should be. Nevertheless it gave me very slick, fluffy and fragrant lather that didn't fade till the end of shave and gave me enough lather for 4 passes. No, I didn't have 4 passes. I just had enough lather for that. The skin felt great after the shave. Very moisturised and soft. The smell was fantastic. This soap smells like a cologne rather than a soap. It has amazing fougère scent. It was almost like a room was full of this scent as soon as I opened the carton box. Strong but without being overwhelming. As I was lathering and shaving the scent weakened but was still noticeable and pleasant. Packaging was very nice as well - stylish carton box. It's pity you have to remove it from there. I put it into one of my IKEA Grundtal containers. The inner size of the tin is exactly the same as the soap, but I had to shave about 1mm off the sides of the soap to get through tin's rim (it's a bit smaller). It was difficult to find a matching aftershave or balm from my really small collection so I used Nivea's one which has very mild scent that doesn't overpower the scent from the soap. Now I know what would be my next purchase from TSW - matching aftershave from Saponificio.

This is one of the best soaps I ever used so far. The scent is gorgeous, the lather is fantastic and the skin care is absolutely outstanding. I would say it's a bit pricey here in Australia, but quality is just outstanding so I do not mind paying $33 for it.

Soap/Cream: Shaver Heaven Oatmeal Stout
Aftershave: AoS Sandalwood gel

Contrary to my comment yesterday, I have used SH before (Arctic Mango and AM Extreme) in the great menthol challenge - thanks for the reminder
@SydBJW

Slipped a 'Black' in from a recent trade with @nav1 - nice and smooth first up, impressive.

Preshave: Musgo Real Glyce soap and Proraso sandalwood preshave cream
Razor: Weber polished head on an Ikon handle(kindly on loan @Draco Noir )
Blade: Polsilver SI
Brush: Semogue 1305
Soap: PAA Strewth
Post Shave: Gummy Balm and Strewth AS
Three pass shave. Feeling a little under the weather and the best medicine it seems is wet shaving. The strong scent of the Strewth broke through the blocked nose and the Weber made me forget about the aches and pain. Removed a two day growth with comfort and easily. The cure for the common cold has been found.

Brush: Omega 10005
Soap: P&B spitfire
Razor: Leresche 77
Blade: London Bridge
Post: B&M Arctique

Last shave with the L77 before it has to go back to Sydney with @filobiblic. I thought I had to have one after the first shave with it but after 4 I'm starting to wonder of I would use it that regularly. It's almost too efficient for me, my usual shave every other day feels a bit too much with this razor.
I guess it might be that I haven't yet found quite the right angle to allow for regular shaving, or just that I would have to stretch my shaves or to 2.5-3 days between shaves. I think the later as I'm getting very close shaves with just two passes and no weepers.

Surprised to discovery that my latest batch of London Bridge blades (all three packs of them!) are 10 packs instead of 5's. This adds $30 of value to my purchase if this auction is to be believed.
They are also stamped with London Bridge whereas the first blade from my other collection of them came with a Wilkinson Sword Super Sword-Edge stamp on it.

Now that I've decided the spitfire is not for me the scent really jars. I can't get the stale cigarette end idea out of my mind even though that's not what it actually smells like.

Bit stingy on the aftershave at the end of the day too.

That said, it was a good shave. Great lather from P&B, nice new blade, very close shave from the L77, and nice cooling from the A/S.

Oh man, that's not good!

Pre-Shave: Cypriotian Olive/Argan Oil soap, cold water
Razor: Wolfman SB-P UFO Titan L
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Paladin Chief
Lather: Mystic Water Jeff's Lavender
Post-shave: Alum, Barrister & Man Kyovu Original

Simply sensational - I realised hours after the shave, that I hadn't even used a post shave oil - and the lather was certainly drippy (picture here).

You gotta love that Semogue 1305 what a brush

Pre shave: Musgo Real Glyce Soap
Razor: Gillette Red Tip
Blade: Feather (1)
Brush: Simpson Wee Scot
Soap: Klar
Splash: Speick A/S

Hmmm...not an A grade shave. Klar is a soap that I struggle to get a consistent lather with. When it's good, it's very good, but often it lacks cushion. It's possible that the Wee Scot needs further break in. That, coupled with the Feather lead to a slightly harsh shave, although the Feather is a good match for the Red Tip. Speick did it's usual magic.

That is what is good about this Forum - honesty. Some people love this soap, but if it doesn't do it for you, say so. Good on you, @eggbert.

I think s lot of it is to do with climate. I get smoky smells right through the dry season due to bushfires and back burning so I don't really asphyxiate it with being a comforting scent.
I like a lot of the earthy, rich, warning spices that are in many of the soaps you guys in cooler climes use, but not as a soap as then they feel cloying and heavy.
I guess that's why most of my soaps are lighter, eucalyptus and citrus type scents.

Yep - and why I take scents as a personal preference thing - people can love or hate the same scent, very personal :)

Pre: GFT lime skin food
Brush: Wolfwhiskers Ubersoft II
Soap: Dr Jon Anne Bonny
Razor: ATT S1
Blade: Feather
Post: alum, witch hazel, Ogallala Lime and Peppercorn Bay rum

I absolutely adore the scent of this soap. Though it might not be as slick and thick as tallow soap, it does pretty well. Great glide and protection.

Finished off with the amazing Bay rum. I am very keen with the bay rum scents lately.

Soap/Cream: Soap Commander Passion Shaving Soap
Aftershave: Soap Commander Integrity Balm

Another day, another new soap. OK, well not quite...

Having taken samples out and sent them to my nephew and others put aside for the PCTB4 I've been working through some soaps where I just have a small portion left. The SC Passion is one of those. Will write up a review in a couple of days. In the meantime, a picture -

Soap: Shaver Heaven - Vanilla Oak
Post: Chatillon Lux- 'La Forêt de Liguest'

The first time using Shaver Heaven soaps and I was impressed, my first thoughts are that the scent is quite bold with a definite emphasis on the Bergamot and Vanilla which I suspected from first seeing it listed, it lather's very easily and has a nice composition that has obviously been refined through experimentation. The soap provides adequate to good glide and cushion. An acceptable post shave feeling, all in all a nice middle range soap that I intend on using for a week or so before deciding if it will be part of the regular rotation.

I went with my usual 2 pass WTG and XTG and kept the routine the same as always to give the soap a good chance under normal conditions. The scent being the definite stand out in my mind despite it being fairly 'bold' from the tub and especially when lathered. Given the price point though it represents very good value for money and the tallow composition has an immediate appeal.I like it and it being Australian made and owned is a definite plus.
