Soap: PAA Al Fin sample (I think)
Brush: O 10005
Razor: Slim
Blade: London Bridge (2)
Aftershave: Aqua Velva

The website says
Al Fin contains the essential oils of Rose, Bay Leaf, Lemon Myrtle, Vetiver, White Clover,Cypress, helichrysum, Ambrette, Geranium and Tobacco Absolute.

I say it smelled like soap. I got nothing scent wise whatsoever from the sample. Very disappointing. The lather was OK.

Hopefully it was just a case that the soap had been sitting in a sample bag for too long.

While I'm on the subject, what utter rubbish
The scent-scape of a dream inhabited by mythical beasts and beings. Ancient knowledge and magik, romance, a first kiss on a summer night long ago. Esoteria, alchemy and sensuality adrift on a breeze. Etta James on a car radio, a drive-in theater, staring at a night full of shooting stars from the beach where the warm waves lap like liquid tongues at your toes. This is Al Fin.

If you want to write a gusset drencher for the old ladies who read Mills and Boon go ahead and do so. Please don't make me have to read it on your website while trying to work out what it should smell like.

Pre: Musgo Real Glyce Soap
Brush: Thater 4125/3 2 Band
Soap: P&B Spitfire
Razor: Rockwell 6S (5)
Blade: GSB (2)
Splash: Myrsol Antesol

This brush needs plenty of loading, but I was rewarded with lots of impressive lather. Still need to write a review of this brush.
A nice 3 pass shave with the ever brilliant Rockwell. The Myrsol finished the shave nicely.

Fair call, Egg. However, I really like the Al Fin aftershave/cologne.

Have you got the soap? Interested to know if the scent really is that anonymous, if it's the sample, or if it's my nose.
I don't know if I'd like it up here in the summer, but the scent combination sounded interesting to try now, but I got nothing.

Nope - yet to try a PAA soap. They are supposed to have relatively bold scents, but the sample my have lost a bit.

Body Shop day today.

Pre-Shave: Shower
Razor: Edwin Jagger Kelvin
Blade: Personna Platinum
Soap/Cream: The Body Shop For Men Maca Root Shaving Cream
Brush: Mühle Silvertip Fibre V2.0 Shaving Brush
ASB: The Body Shop For Men Maca Root Razor Relief
Post-Routine: hot rinse, alum, cold rinse, balm

While I'm a big fan of artisan soaps I also quite like shaving creams. And The Body Shop is one of the great shaving creams. Widely available, cheap, easy to lather and performance is great. And their balm is excellent. May be they do not have the best scent but it's definitely not unpleasant.

Sometimes when I'm using splash and balm/cologne I'm also drying my face after splash and then applying balm or cologne.
I'd like to try Myrsol as everyone is excited about it. :) Saving money for G&C purchase. :)

Pre: Occam's Crushed Lime Pre-Shave Soap
Brush: Occam's
Razor: Merkur Progress, 3.5, Feather Blade
Cream: Occam's Crushed Lime
After:Balm, Geo F Trumper West Indian Lime
Scent: Ogallala Bay Rum, Lime, Peppercorns

With a 'balmy' 25C expected in Sydney today I thought I would change the feel and scent of this mornings shave, a combination of warmer weather and being thankful that it is Friday again - being one day closer to my much loved and enjoyed Saturday morning shave ;)

The Occam's lathers superbly, it is easily my favorite Australian Cream both in the Lime and the original with it's chai tea notes. A usual 2 pass WTG and XTG today, the glide and cushion from the cream being superb and the finish exceptional. A real BBS with no need for touch ups. I finished proceedings with some After Balm and Geo F for the added protection prior to using the Ogallala as my skin is fairly prone to react to alcohol. The Ogallala compliments the scent of the Occam's and Geo-F West Indian superbly, it's a combination I will go with when the warmer weather hits and stays.

Razor: Gillette Fatboy (5)
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum 'Black' [India] (3)
Brush: Vintage butterscotch Simpson
Soap/Cream: Soap Commander Passion Shaving Soap
Aftershave: Soap Commander Integrity Balm

No scent? Maybe, hard to tell with this cold .... :(
